I couldn't get the dialogue with him after winning the war and wearing an amulet of Mara. Am I missing something?

I built a mod as a companion house for this mod. It's called King's Palace by Shanna. It turns the King's Palace in Windhelm into a player home for those who have married Ulfric. Thanks for a great mod! It inspired me!

This mod is perfect. It does exactly one thing, in a way that makes sense. Nothing more or less.

archerymistress02 31 Aug, 2017 @ 2:21pm
is this compatible with dawnguard?
Winter'sRose 11 Jul, 2017 @ 12:43pm
Do you think you will ever make General Tullius marriagable?
MutantGnome 20 May, 2017 @ 2:47am
Don't use this mod with "Amazing Follower Tweaks", it causes conflict, AKA stops AFT from working, even if you load a save from before downloading this mod.
ilhe  [author] 27 Feb, 2017 @ 11:39am
(part3) Or it might be something different entirely. Like that other mod's might directly forbid Ulfric to live in a custom house, for example (if I remember correctly) My Home Is Your Home did something like that back then.
ilhe  [author] 27 Feb, 2017 @ 11:39am
(part2)It can be fixed by either rising priority of that other mod's quest above 30, or lowering DialogueWindhelm's priority under that other mod's quest's priority (which is unknown to me). Lowering DialogueWindhelm's priority looks like a bad idea as it rules not only Ulfric's behaviour, but also holds a great amount of citizens' banter, which might not break but... it looks potentially dangerous and I won't change priority of that quest, an unnecessary change not worth the risk.

You can try to lower the priority of DialogueWIndhelm in CreationKit on your end. Or contact author of that other mod for moving into a custom house, tell him about the problem and maybe suggest to rise priority of their quest to 45 (the priority of vanilla marriage quest RelationshipMarriageFIN, that nomrally governs where the spouse lives).
ilhe  [author] 27 Feb, 2017 @ 11:38am
(part1) Hi! I think it more depends on those mods which send him to a custom home, rather than on my mod. My mod makes him fit into vanilla marriage system, and vanilla marriage quests are capable to override his need to sit in his throne in the Palace of Kings. That mod for moving into a custom house seems to have a separate quest for spouse's behaviour in the new place, and that quest's priority isn't high enough.

If I understood it right, Ulfric's sitting in the Palace of Kings is ruled by DialogueWindhelm quest which has priority 30, living in a standard house has priority 45, 45 beats 30, Ulfric lives in a standard house. But when that other mod comes into play I have no idea what priority does it's quest have, looks like it's less than 30, and Ulfric's sitting in the throne takes precedence.

Hi there. I'm having a problem relating to Ulfric moving to a custom home. When I try mods that *usually* move the spouse to the new home, he goes to the door then walks straight back out and to the Palace of Kings, or dosen't show up there at all. Is there a way to fix this? Or is it not possible?
Rabid_Legend 18 Feb, 2017 @ 5:10pm
i got it to work i had to start a new game
ilhe  [author] 5 Feb, 2017 @ 12:40am
This is strange, looks like the problem is related to marriage in general rather than this mod. Just to make it clear: Ulfric with this mod responds to the Amulet of Mara just like any other normally marriable NPC. If you're not using any other mods for marriage system - he will not see the Amulet if you're already married, or you got married in the past but your spouse has died. If you are using some other mod for marriage system - that mod might be constructed in a way that prevents Ulfric from recognizing the Amulet.
Rabid_Legend 3 Feb, 2017 @ 11:02am
i had it for just one
ilhe  [author] 2 Feb, 2017 @ 11:46am
Alright, so the mod is working partially at least. Do you have the "Interested in me" dialogue with normally marriable NPCs?
Rabid_Legend 2 Feb, 2017 @ 11:39am
i had finished the civil war and i have the follower dialogues but not the one that asks if hes interested in me?
ilhe  [author] 2 Feb, 2017 @ 9:36am
No, you don't have to be a girl, it should work for any gender and race. Might be a glitch or a conflict with something else. Make sure it is indeed downloaded and activated in the launcher or in that piece of software that you use to manage mods. You deleted your first post so I don't remember if you have finished the Civil War, so also make sure you have won the Civil War, that is general Tulius is dead and you and Ulfric have left the Castle Dour. If nothing works try to type in console while standing next to Ulfric:
SetStage OUUlfricCanObey 10
then speak to him, he should have at least follower's dialogues. And I don't remember if you had follower's dialogues before...
Rabid_Legend 1 Feb, 2017 @ 7:51pm
Do I have to be a girl to marry him?
Rabid_Legend 1 Feb, 2017 @ 7:47pm
It's still not working
ilhe  [author] 1 Feb, 2017 @ 2:00pm
If you get "Interested in me?" line with normal marriable characters, then you should be getting it with him as well. For the line to appear make sure you're wearing an Amulet of Mara while speaking with him, and that you have asked Maramal about traditions for weddings in Skyrim. If it still doesn't show up try changing locations with this mod active: if he is sitting in his palace go outside then return back and try to speak with him again.
ilhe  [author] 19 Jan, 2017 @ 10:51pm
Exactly! :styxskull:
Sephraem 19 Jan, 2017 @ 9:57pm
For Science! :steamhappy: :daExecutioner:
ilhe  [author] 19 Jan, 2017 @ 9:53pm
Then he will die like any other if you make him not essential with that mod. You might try and tell the results:)
Sephraem 19 Jan, 2017 @ 1:42pm
@ilhe I found a mod...or something.... that has the player's character ask all the npc's if they're essential or not, and if they are (or not) you can switch it to the opposite. But heck if I can remember what it is -.-
ilhe  [author] 19 Jan, 2017 @ 1:11pm
And I don't think he can be sacrifised, he is essential and cannot die. He might glitch out it you try, I never did it myself.
ilhe  [author] 19 Jan, 2017 @ 1:08pm
Sephraem 10 Jan, 2017 @ 9:10pm
I am ecstatic by this. Just a quick question though, stupid as it may be. Is he capable of being sacrificed, and if yes... who becomes Jarl? You know... inheritance and all that. :2016gameingame:
Gilded Arrow 13 Dec, 2016 @ 9:46pm
waiting patiently then! I'll drag out the civil war storyline a bit!
grucie 5 Dec, 2016 @ 2:23am
I JUST DISCOVERED THIS AND IM EXCITED
ilhe  [author] 4 Dec, 2016 @ 2:32pm
Not yet, but it will be.
Gilded Arrow 4 Dec, 2016 @ 10:51am
Has this been updated to be compatible with Skyrim SE? I need my hubbin'.
ilhe  [author] 16 Nov, 2016 @ 8:57am
Haha! You're clearly having fun :) Glad it worked for you, and thanks for telling, it's really pleasant to know I made a useful thing :)
NordChick 15 Nov, 2016 @ 1:29am
This has worked brilliantly :) I have discovered that Ulfric is a tad psychotic when it comes to slaughtering whatever crosses his path as my follower - he laughs in the face of dragons o.O and demonstrates his shouts in caves all over Tamriel whilst almost joyously slaying anything that attacks me. My Sneak is suffering due to his enthusiasm, but that's the price one pays for Ulfric's home cooked meals.
A+++ Would marry again.
Sincerely

Mrs Stormcloak
Bloody Wolf 9 Nov, 2016 @ 3:42pm
They should also place this in XboxOne for people who wanna marry Ulfric, Just throwing out ideas.
eltheria 6 Nov, 2016 @ 10:10am
awesome ty so much :)
ilhe  [author] 5 Nov, 2016 @ 11:22am
Haven't tested it, but doubt that it does. I'll convert it for SE, don't worry.
eltheria 5 Nov, 2016 @ 9:17am
Does this work with Skyrim SE?
CreamyCoffee334 10 Sep, 2016 @ 7:31pm
Amazing...but glicthy. I really don't like that there is multiple Ulfrics or his servents wandering around the city or castle. Litterly If its a Vital character in the city I can see two or three of them at once.
Mica94 29 Aug, 2016 @ 3:34pm
I don't think I could play the game without this, and the Friendly Brynjolf mod. It's great to have marriage options that include characters you actually get to bond with through questlines! That being said, I always wondered if something like this could be done with Kharjo, or the other khajiit in the game? Seeing as how the reason they aren't marriable has to do with unique voices, like with Ulfric, Bryn and so forth. Is there any way that could be done?
ilhe  [author] 13 Aug, 2016 @ 1:52pm
Being a male doesn't effect, becoming a thane isn't required. Try to change locations and speak with Ulfric again. Also make sure you've asked Maramal about weddings, it's needed for every marriage to work.
LancelotOfTheRevolution 13 Aug, 2016 @ 10:26am
I'm wearing the amulet of Mara and I've completed the Civil War quest line, but I have no dialogue options for marrying him, do I have to become a thane in Windhelm before I get the option to marry him, and does my character being a male effect it at all?

PickleChips0517 10 Aug, 2016 @ 8:31am
thank you so much!!! :steamhappy::steamhappy::steamhappy::steamhappy::steamhappy::steamhappy:
ilhe  [author] 26 Jul, 2016 @ 11:25am
To divorce manually, type this in console:
setStage OUUlfricCanObey 85
If you're playing with Hearthfire, type this as well:
setStage OUHearthfire 85
For it to work the mod must be checked in the launcher.
ilhe  [author] 25 Jul, 2016 @ 12:09pm
You don't need to get his ring to divorce, get rid of your ring and that's it. Then dismiss him if he is currently following you. Then ask for a divorce. Unsubscribing doesn't remove the mod from the game, to remove the mod from the game you should uncheck it in the launcher (at least it has been so awhile back, when I still played). In any case, unsubscribing and removing the mod will not get you two divorced. Theoretically you can divorce via a console, but it's been so long ago I don't remember, and it's late. If you still are having this problem, I'll look the commands tomorrow and tell.
PickleChips0517 24 Jul, 2016 @ 2:17pm
