This mod is hilariously op, I love it, thank you

Works with my 50 or so other mods, even on custom planets and asteroids. Some might say it's cheesy, but the fact is that humanity has mined with explosives since forever, so it makes sense that interstellar species could too and the future would have even better ways to mine. Ultimately, I only have so much time to game so it's nice not having to grind for sand to make 1,000 glass for my hotel or base.

10 out of 10 it fills up my inventory fast and doesn't destroy my frames most of the time

God bless this mod. It has saved me soooo much time it ain't even funny. 10/10.

@BaileyRW: Sorry, that's a long way from my intention. It will let you mine enough resources to build one of those nifty XS Corporation Mechs, though. :)
BaileyRW 9 Jul, 2020 @ 10:56am
I give this a 5 star review. it's just as good at destroying large areas as it is at destroying my FPS!
kind of wish it would come with the option to hurt enemies though

@Doctor Nope: Maybe, but don't expect it any time soon - I'm fairly busy IRL these days. What do you mean by "smaller blast radius", exactly? Relate it to a character's height.
Doctor Nope 16 Jul, 2019 @ 7:52am
by any chance, can you make a smaller version of mining gun? with smaller blast radius and more precise...
RockDan.9tn 21 Mar, 2019 @ 4:58pm
Oh lol I should of thought of the foraging station.
Dr. Fnord  [author] 21 Mar, 2019 @ 11:36am
Look for the mining guns in the third tab of the foraging station. Other mods oughtn't to interfere with that placement, unless you've got one that affects item categories.
RockDan.9tn 20 Mar, 2019 @ 3:09pm
Can't find it in crafting, this might be because of the avalli race mod.
Dr. Fnord  [author] 7 Feb, 2019 @ 11:45am
Yes, left-click should mine the foreground and right-click already mines the background. As long as your mouse has a standard set-up, it should work like that as soon as you build the tools.
厘木 7 Feb, 2019 @ 2:38am
Can it be set to the left button to open the fire to remove the foreground, right click to fire to remove the background?

HOLY SHIT, this just made Planet Cracking and asteroid Blast Mining operations SO much easier! Thank you! :D
Trooper Miguel 7 Sep, 2018 @ 1:26pm
this + no protection on generated structures. I Am GOD
Z'vathuul 8 Apr, 2018 @ 7:30am
You have just made my life a whole lot easier. Thank you very much!
Amberclad 5 Dec, 2017 @ 9:57am
thanks for the mod, cant wait to try it out.
Dr. Fnord  [author] 16 Nov, 2017 @ 11:59am
OK, so it's been a month without internet at chez moi, which gave me plenty of time to test out my mod in a new installatiion.

The mod's fine - there's no problem at all, which I expected because it's independent of other content. On the other hand, the Mk. II Wad Gun turns out to be absolutely brilliant for asteroid mining. Get one today. :)
ZonaMasterX 16 Oct, 2017 @ 11:40pm
its probably conflicting with some mod as i have a shit tons of mod installed

i dont know how to read the error log and probably lost it since its been a while
Dr. Fnord  [author] 16 Oct, 2017 @ 9:19pm
Thanks for letting me know. Have you got an error log? It'd help if you did.
ZonaMasterX 14 Oct, 2017 @ 10:50am
crashed gun outdated
scimuse 29 Sep, 2017 @ 9:29pm
very fun to mine with this mod.
RatBones 17 Apr, 2017 @ 8:09pm
Renic(1st Cav) i think it is called the wad gun i had the same problem till i looked at the pictures and compared them
Raventurock 26 Feb, 2017 @ 12:06pm
Does this help with mining the brain blocks in the Ruin?
Sassy Burrito 2 Nov, 2016 @ 11:15pm
Love this mod makes mining less tedious and boring.
Techpriest Emily 3 Oct, 2016 @ 1:32am
I've only got the small version so far, but I still love it. 10/10, will blow planets up again.
Dr. Fnord  [author] 21 Sep, 2016 @ 1:46pm
As some user recently pointed out, spamming vast numbers of shots with this (and, in fact, any other mining tool) can lead to lots of blocks being harvested. This can slow down Starbound's game-engine until the blocks finish falling.

The workaround for this non-issue is to avoid spamming vast numbers of shots with any tool that harvests lots of objects at once.
Dr. Fnord  [author] 20 Sep, 2016 @ 11:20pm
@Renic: The ID of the wad gun is miningShotgun , and the Mk. II has the ID miningCannon . They ought to appear in the third tab of the foraging station, whether it's upgraded or not.

If you've got the materials and the mod's installed, then drop me a line regarding what other mods you're using: There might be a conflict from some other mod, which would be unusual but not impossible.
Renic 20 Sep, 2016 @ 4:20pm
I looked through all my crafting stations (all maxed out) but did not see the gun in there. what is the item id?

The picture above shows the result of one shot from the normal wad gun. As for the recipe, you'll do some digging to get the materials, but not too much - and I'd like people to enjoy discovering it rather than weigh up stats.
Iron86 25 Aug, 2016 @ 12:22pm
You should expand the description with the crafting recipe, and with the speed and amount of blocks it can mine at one time, that way people can find out whether it is balanced enough for their playthrough :)
