Any hairstyles with more than three colours will not have the lightest colour replaced by this mod, resulting in orange dots in the hair. Vanilla hairs are safe, I believe, but most modded ones are not. Also, random NPCs have access to all of the modded options, so they will sometimes have the orange dots, it can look fairly out-of-place. Just letting ppl know, but if you don't use modded hairstyles, you're good to go. :)

So just asking, is the Colorbound series compatible with NPCspawner+? It seems like putting the two mods together seem like a great idea, tons of great customization.
Also, is this compatible with the Vibrant Novakids, a color mod for Novakids?

You can use 2014, 2015, and 2016 together. They're all different packs with different colors.

However, you're going to be clicking FOREVER if you install all three, so be prepared for that.

I personally recommend creating a character first and THEN adding COLORBOUND 14/15/16.
Ethan 28 Jun, 2018 @ 10:04am
will 2014 and 2016 add those colors too, or will they just be replaced by the most recent ones?

@Sir Charmander
Quite.
Warboss Spriggs 14 Sep, 2016 @ 12:27pm
Sounds good, thanks.

@Warboss Spriggs
Good old fashioned Notepad (or Notepad++). I'd recommend grabbing the non-Steam version of the mod from the Community Forums so that you don't have to mess around with unpacking stuff.
Warboss Spriggs 9 Sep, 2016 @ 3:57pm
That is quite unfortunate. What tools do you use to edit said file so that I might butcher, er I mean, modify my file?
pixel.doge  [author] 9 Sep, 2016 @ 11:07am
@Warboss Spriggs
They're not palettes, per se. Each color option is between three and eleven color hexadecimal codes (depending on which race it is). The "new" colors essentially replace a specific default color, and that default color varies (again, depending on which race it is).

tl;dr They have to be modified for each race manually via the species file.
Warboss Spriggs 8 Sep, 2016 @ 4:49pm
Sooooooooo... These colors can't be used with other races? Do the color pallets need to be modified for each race manually, or is there some way to get these to work with other races?

Look man, I needs me more color options for custom races. :Grineer:

@smurflee
Your character will keep the [COLORBOUND] colors even if you uninstall / unsubscribe from the [COLORBOUND] mod(s). The color values are stored in your .player file.

@nobodymoo
No idea. Have fun finding out.
smurflee 5 Sep, 2016 @ 11:15am
What would happen if I were to unsubscribe to this and my character have one of the colors in here? Do you know if the color would go back to a default? Would it corupt the file?

[COLORBOUND] 2016, 2015, and 2014, are all essentially different mods with different color options. There shouldn't be any overlap. I'd advise making a character first and THEN unleashing the rainbow, though, otherwise... [CLICKBOUND].
*Yuki* 25 Aug, 2016 @ 9:27am
maybe asked already - is 2014 version include deez colors, or I should have both to unleash the rainbow? Or some of colors are similar in deez packs?
BLUESTORM2112 22 Aug, 2016 @ 7:43am
Hi, I've included your Colourbound mods as part of my mod collection: http://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=748797522&savesuccess=1

@MachoCZ
Thank you for saying so. (^ ^)
MachoCZ 21 Aug, 2016 @ 6:25am
Oh ... thx for the clarification. But it doesnt matter, well this is a good mod :)
pixel.doge  [author] 20 Aug, 2016 @ 12:32pm
@MachoCZ
Actually, the +635 version is the new(est) version. +635 is from 2015, while +900 is from 2014.

I thought that 900 colors was maybe too many, too, which is why I made the 2015 +635 version to replace the 2014 version.

However, a lot of people wanted the older 2014 +900 version back, and many other people wanted both versions to have as many color options as possible.

What I usually do is install the +635 version, create a character, and THEN install the +900 as well so that NPCs have 1,535 colors to draw from.
MachoCZ 8 Aug, 2016 @ 5:28am
Hi, this mod is so good, better than the new version with 900 colors, because 900 colors are too much for character in this game. :)

@Tourten
Simply because such a thing is beyond my ability. People have been saying the same thing for over two years, and my reply has always been that I would love to see someone do it. To date, no one has.

Honestly, I think that most people (including myself) were expecting that Chucklefish would have included a more extensive character creator (or color picker) by this point. However, it never happened, so... here we are.
Tourten 7 Aug, 2016 @ 5:05am
@pixel.doge I say why not work with someone (or do it your self) to make a moded character creation ui for the colors so you will not have to click 635 (or 900) times
pixel.doge  [author] 7 Aug, 2016 @ 1:50am
@Tourten
I've (technically) added images that demonstrate all 635 colors. I can't do this for the +900 version because that one is from 2014, and I don't have the .gifs that I made at that time (I only have the 2015 version ones).

So, SmaugBaggins is correct in what they said: it's sort of difficult because I'm not prepared to click, print screen, click, print screen...

However, when I made the 2015 version, I had some foresight!
Tourten 6 Aug, 2016 @ 6:05pm
@SmaugBaggins You don't need to add all screenshots of all 635 colors, all you have to do is show some of the shades that are in the mod :happyBUD:
ZEE MUFFIN #TeamJank 5 Aug, 2016 @ 9:27pm
Nothin like the short and sweet mods. Good work! :fhtagn:
TheSmaugBaggins 5 Aug, 2016 @ 10:49am
@WesparD.Инк Its sorta difficult to add screenshots for a mod like this cause of how many combinations
SupremeMickey 5 Aug, 2016 @ 2:49am
Good job man, nice color.
pixel.doge  [author] 5 Aug, 2016 @ 12:03am
@Кeltar Ðeѵir
Once you install [COLORBOUND], the additional colors will appear after the default STARBOUND colors.

So, clicking the right arrow:

DEFAULT -> COLORBOUND+635 -> COLORBOUND+900 -> DEFAULT -> COLORBOUND+635 -> etc
【Keltar Ðevir】🐦‍🔥 4 Aug, 2016 @ 5:55pm
How do you use it? I can't see any new color option when creating a new character
Cojiro 4 Aug, 2016 @ 5:25pm
Great except. . .I can't find the default color I want X_X

Nah but great job.

Why did I read colorblind? :D
Caloob_ 4 Aug, 2016 @ 9:07am
@UltraEmailMan
I don't think so, there is probually a mod out there that let's you. The only thing (that I know) you can change is your hair style.
UltraEmailMan 4 Aug, 2016 @ 8:42am
Is it possible to customize an existing character with these colors?
pixel.doge  [author] 3 Aug, 2016 @ 3:16am
@Savron
About a year or two ago, mod-added races that pulled colors from the vanilla race options (instead of having their own unique color options) would also be able to use colors from [COLORBOUND].

However, [COLORBOUND] is only intended to add options TO the original races. Should an author of a modded race want to add [COLORBOUND] color options to their mod, though, they are free to do so.
BG-0 2 Aug, 2016 @ 10:41am
@RustedCutlass717 you can, and probably should have both, if you want a wide variety of options
BLUESTORM2112 31 Jul, 2016 @ 5:09pm
Also one of them was only the + version.

@-={🐺UIA🐾}= [R.E.A.C.H] Laz0r$hir The other two versions were unofficial and did not have permission from the author to upload to the workshop.

This upload is from the actual author.

Why is this constantly being removed and re-added?!?!
BLUESTORM2112 31 Jul, 2016 @ 6:14am
Thanks for uploading, it's nice to see the official version on here this time. :steamhappy:
