Anyway, it should be updated now. Cheers!
I'll update it tomorrow!
silv_pc_mars_file_desc
and instead of "Desert World" it just says Mars in the Outliner.
Other than this issue, the mod works well and the solar system is beautifully detailed :-)
The only way to add specific descriptions to each planet was to make every single one have its own unique class. That means desert planets and mars don't share anything except the base 3D sphere at this point. They are different classes with their own text. Furthermore, this mod doesn't change any of the original files, classes, or assets.
I'll definitely look into it, but I honestly have no idea how that's even possible.

I'm not 100% on the save-game - there have been a few other mods enabled/disabled on this save. When starting a new game, I see Mercury as shown above.
When loading my existing save I see a brown/desert Mercury as shown below;

Without your mod enabled and starting a new game in vanilla Sol, Mecury is a molten planet.
I've had the following mods enabled (all disabled while testing above) with the existing save;
A Better System Scale
Real Distances
Upgraded Systems
Have read that the game can cache some assets, even if the mods are disabled - and this may be a leftover.
New models should show up in save games, in theory. If not I'll be a sad panda.
Some minor texture overlap close to the northen pole.
For future model updates, is it possible to make this save game compatible?
1. enemy ships entering the system to the galactic east would instantly be attacknig neptune -- which is on the other side of the solar system. This happened repeatedly. Neptune's mining station was somehow omnipresent.
2. I once had a fleet battle where both fleets were on separate edges of the system. Because their weapons couldn't actually reach far enough to do any damage, this lasted until I retreated. They wouldn't close the distance, and flew around in the 'cloud formation' of an ongoing battle.
3. I didn't measure it, but it sure seemed like it took unusually long for my ships to leave the system. Probably you play hyper FTL most of the time? Hyper ships can leave a system from any point; warp and wormhole FTL ships have to fly to the edge of the system before they can leave.
Love the longer travel times in Sol, thanks for sharing!
Some config files were changed to increase font and ui for the image. Similar to Big Text Mod, issue can be replicated without these changes as well.

Thanks again!
Noticed the Planet Type tooltip is showing the same Sol names and wiki descriptions in other solar systems. Typically this would show 'Gas Giant', 'Barren World' etc. Habital planets appear to show as normal. All works as intended in Sol itself. Can take a screenshot if necessary.
Nice to learn about our local system while out exploring in any case.
Also saw some minor pop-in of planet textures while navgating Sol. Probably due to the 'recombobulating' - worth trade off if this is a technical limitation.
Thank you!

I haven't reached earth yet so I can't say if anything else is missing.
