Hi all, Yoru has a fixed version of this awesome mod available for download if anyone would like it: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3143950648 :buzzed:

Well the thing is, it kind of works half the time, and you can hear some custom sounds, but most of the sounds emitted are glitched and just screech, so I assume the many people that did subscribe are just making do with what there is of this mod. So if you actually do have the know how on how to make this mod TLS compatible considering this is just a reupp, would you? since this really IS a great mod.

I apologize to the people still having issues with the command not fixing all sound issues. It was originally made well before 2016 even, so my guess is The Last Stand update is somewhat responsible for the sounds still having static even after rebuilding the cache.

Personally, I don't even use this mod anymore, I use Dying Light common infected sounds, which I've never had audio issues with. This one still tended to have minor static for me unless I take the raw files from this mod and manually replace the Left 4 Dead sound files, which I don't advise.

Considering the thousands of current subscribers and favorites, I have to assume this works properly for at least some people and I don't wanna just take it down.

In short; my recommendation is the (FIXED) version of the Dying Light common infected sound mod instead of this. It's more up-to-date, the audiocache commands seem to work for it much more consistently and the sounds are, in my opinion, significantly better.

same the problem of screeches sound did not fix with the command
[SV]FeReise 25 Nov, 2023 @ 3:03pm
Thanks for reuploading this! However, I still have a problem with the audio issue even after I type 'snd_updateaudiocache' in the console (I did that several times in a couple of playthroughs).

scared the shit outta me with this mod, i love it
Nomad 15 Jun, 2023 @ 1:28pm
It's alright, just a question is all.
Naru  [author] 15 Jun, 2023 @ 1:29am
I don't believe this one contains the flapjack scream, but I could be wrong, I never watched much Flapjack. Think it's one of the later versions by someone else that adds the flapjack scream, but again, I could be wrong.
Nomad 14 Jun, 2023 @ 5:36pm
was this the one with the flapjack scream or was that a different one?
Husmael 2 Jun, 2023 @ 8:23pm
This mod might be old but god damn it give more terror and character to the CI, tvm for this.
Naru  [author] 31 May, 2023 @ 3:15pm
Just like cheese and the description says, you need to fix the audio errors by typing snd_rebuildaudiocache in console to fix the audio errors.
Bennings 30 May, 2023 @ 10:10am
Type "snd_rebuildaudiocache" in console to fix the audio errors.
soupy 15 Apr, 2023 @ 1:56am
there is a problem with this mod some zombies will play loud static like you would hear BRAHHHHHH then just BZZTZZZTTHHRRR from like one zombie that's louder than others

Lrak 5 Nov, 2022 @ 6:28am
@zumuzumu Truth be told, I never had a major problem with this mod other than 1 time our of 10(and I mean it, it's not common) the static sound pops in for less than half a second.

This is the best sound mod for the commons out there, also it has to be said most sound mods are either hit or miss during instalation, if a problem persists either remove and reinstall or just do the snd_rebuildsoundcachethingy that it fixes 99% of the problems.
I would recommend this one
zumuzumu 28 Jul, 2022 @ 4:36pm
was gonna download till i seen all these complaints lol ill skip
Las Nikita 24 Jun, 2022 @ 11:09am

YungBirthControl 1 Aug, 2021 @ 5:08pm
Why does this mod mute the horde music?
SapphyrKhaos 19 May, 2021 @ 10:59pm
Still has audio issues even after updating AND rebuilding audio cache. Only seems to happen when there's a lot of infected grouped together.

Mr. Avocado Man 24 Jan, 2020 @ 2:41pm
Even using console commands don't remove the screeching noise. Guess I'll bear with it for the mean time. I really like this sound mod and it's best played alongside the extended horde mod.

The fear I feel when these infected fucks come dashing up to me and slapping my ass in a very angry fashin is unlike anything I've ever felt, thank you for reuploading this I hate it (jk)
Doc903 23 Jul, 2019 @ 5:25pm
I mean, they are quite human-like now, but I would one day hope for the infected from 28 Days Later/28 Weeks Later to make their vocal debut. The infected they had in the main focus(not background infected, but ones that sometime took center stage) usually had a horrifying gutteral sound. No too far removed from their human counterparts, but definitley dangerous.

What do you mean Acharen95?
Acharen95 20 Apr, 2019 @ 9:01am
I manually replace the original vpk with the mod vpk, and it's work, there are no schreeching now.
Naru  [author] 30 Oct, 2018 @ 12:38pm
My apologies, then. I'm not savvy enough to understand why it works for some and doesn't for others, but I'm sorry it isn't working for you.

You can also do "snd_rebuildaudiocache" which takes longer, and will make your PC seem as if it is frozen for a good, long while as it works, but it's also far more thorough than simply updating the audio cache.

Beyond that, I'm sorry I can't help you further.
Vazkulator 30 Oct, 2018 @ 12:08pm
did that already, got more bad than good results from running that audio cache command
Naru  [author] 30 Oct, 2018 @ 10:45am
I'd recommend updating your audio cache again using the command in the description, that should solve those glitches. If they pop up again, chances are you've changed or added new sound mods aside. Anytime that happens, rebuilding or updating the audio cache is what you should do. If that doesn't work, I'm sorry, I don't know how to help beyond that.

I haven't changed anything with this mod, and I won't be updating it, but it still works fine for me. I'm sorry I can't be of more aid, but I'm not a modder. All I did was reupload this, as the original author took it down a few years ago.
Vazkulator 27 Oct, 2018 @ 7:31pm
I stopped using this mod due to the glitches sounds sounding like knives in your ears, hoping for an update that fixes it
Kasane Teto 2 Sep, 2018 @ 3:17pm
Holy shit this is scary. The zombies are so loud when they're chasing you and angry, whenever a horde strikes you KNOW they are coming even without the music cue at all. I love it.
MoldyCheese 1 Sep, 2018 @ 10:35pm
To scarry
Sprinkles 19 Aug, 2018 @ 1:31pm
I thought I resolved the occasional sound glitching using the console rebuild/update audiocache commands but they're still there. Oh well. Still a decent mod overall even with the flaw.
Retrograde 16 Aug, 2018 @ 12:47pm
Playing with this on hard rain, solo, expert with no hud is fucking terrifying
Sprinkles 16 Aug, 2018 @ 2:59am
Way better! Never found the original Left 4 Dead zombies even remotely scary but this one actually made my hair stand on end. Seems louder too which may be a negative for some (possibly drown out voice communication). Thanks for sharing!
SarahTheWolf 2 Aug, 2018 @ 11:13pm
it sounds like the Necromorphs from Dead Space! Love it!
