In-game this building is eye candy! so much quality work. One of the best buildings made for Cities Skylines so far.
Wonderful! Thank you very much for making and sharing.
Greetings From Rotterdam!
@HatsuneKid,
Yeah, I let the game generate an LoD. I'm running the game myself on highest graphics so the LoD may be more bothersome for people that use lower draw distances. Apart from the missing spire I guess it's fine if you view it from 2-3 KM away but can be a real eyesore when viewed up close. I'll give it more attention next time.
btw keep up the good work and thank for this beauty
@NLX78, I might be doing some more buildings. It unfortunately takes a bit more time than I expected to make a proper building in this game. Though Admittedly I spent most time figuring out how the importer worked. :P But there's a long list of Rotterdam buildings that I would like to make such as the two you named, Delftse Poort, STC-Lloydkade, Beurs WTC, Station kapsalon and more. Maybe even the weird Calypso building :P
@Weissenberg,
You are spot on with that. I actually had to lookup art deco buildings to assure myself it was really supposed to be that style :P If you compare it to Waldorf Astoria, the Empire State Building or even Radio Kootwijk here on the Veluwe, it's far from it, though you can clearly see it has been inspired by it.
I kind of like the weird architecture you see in Rotterdam. It's about the only city in the region where architects are running loose. There's no cohesion at all between the many different styles you see, which is what many people I know despise, yet it kind of adds to that weird character of the city. It's a lively contrast of the new age when you look at photos of the city right after the Germans bombed it in WW2.
Thanks all!
