one of my favorite , but last time I used it( i spawned that on all my map) , my majoity of props was disappear , but i never retry , for see if its works now

Thanks for the screenshot, I understand now. This is not something that I could mod in. All grass/bushes that you see in the game, either from me or from other modders, it is a mod of the "trees" archetype. This means that it will behave like a tree, and in this game, trees do not conform to the surface. Unfortunately, theres nothing I can do about this one. Sorrrrrrrry.

The Grass Doesn't conform to the terrain it is on unless it is completley flat

I love this grass. Possibly my favorite asset on the entire workshop EXCEPT I can't use it in most places I want because it clearly floats off the ground which looks bad :(. If it snapped to the ground I'd love it and donate some money :)

I'm not sure if thats something thats on my end. These were created like all other assets in the game, I was primarilly referencing Trees.

That one I'm not sure about. I've personally experienced some sort of prop disappearing thing with my assets as well (not just limited to this one). Normally when I would go and place a park, I'd have a wide range of mods available but it seems like lately the majority of my mods aren't available. Might be something CO has done? I can assure you that this is nothing on my end, as this file hasn't changed since its original upload.

It's odd, this asset used to work just nice, but after building a mixed international + euro style city, it's disappeared from the list of available trees. It should be available in temperate biomes, right?

@Dorvalla, No, not that I know of. The issue you're experiencing is a problem with the Mipmap generation system. Its actually a feature of the game to ensure the performance stays high, and that the modders don't have to worry about much for their submitted content (we can go crazy, but the engine will limit us). That being said, what you're seeing is normal. I wish there was a work around, but I cannot force this prop to have a less aggressive mip generation setting. I completely understand your frustration, though!

Hi gula, really love your grass sprite model, but as I see here in chat as well, the further distance on your model, makes it dissapear, which kinda ruins my shots for my swamp *mehhhhhhhh* is there any way to fix this?

I'm really not up to speed on the theming aspects of the game. Believe it or not, I havent read too much in to it. I think you're able to add my buildings in to any theme you see fit, or just have no themes at all. :steamhappy:

Ok I see, anyway I figured out it was a placeble prop, I thought it will place it automatic on places shown on the pictures, so about performance it would all your own responsebility which is no problem with this.
Btw I try to use one of your themed buildings, but at the asset menu I am unable to select it for a sertain theme.
I am using theme unlocker and the patch, when I config a district and select "allow buildings which are not in any theme" will this mean the custom theme building will load in randomly at a sertain point?

The LOD doesn't handle mip-map generation kindly. Its primarilly an alpha based model, so alpha's get thrashed in LOD generation. In terms of performance, this is probably one of the best performing assets by comparison to the other top "grass" assets on the workshop. I've intentionally kept the tri count and texture res low as possible. The only way I could imagine this being an issue is if you took 30 of the models, stacked them on top of each other, then viewed it at certain glancing angles so that the transparancy would overlap -- that would cause some hiccups. So no, not many issues ^_^

One problem though, it disappears really fast if you zoom out which looks odd. I think because it's a prop. Is it possible to make this as a real tree? So no disappearing when zooming out?

It actually is a "tree", its just a prop reskin like everything else. You will be able to see it under the trees tab in game when you are actually playing (not just the asset editor). Many people use this in their city, so it definitely works how you're thinking, you just have to look through the menus :)

Oh wait, so you can PLACE the grass yourself? Sorry I thought it just covered the entire map and thought that might slow my performance a bit

Same performance as a tree, nominal. The tris are the same amount but the texture res is doubled from a tree (I think). To be honest, I probably could have shipped it with a 256 or possibly smaller. One thing to avoid may be to not stack them SUPER close together, as this would cause a lot of over-draw which would in turn tank performance. By super close together, you'd have to stack like 40 of them on top of itself in order to really feel the slow down, though, so you should be good there. :steamhappy:
