How do you get these 'events' up that you have showed in some of the pictures?
nicovallejos 10 May, 2019 @ 10:41pm
With the Conflict Resolution Patch (CRP) mod already released, I have already found out that the Normandy mod is sure to be considered out of date. I'm sure the mod may have caused the CRP to suffer runtime errors, so thus, it is decided that the Normandy mod will not be supported along with all of JFD's civilizations in order to avoid further errors

great mod, but automated workers replace my motte and baleys with pastures even though they are set to not to replace existing improvements
Morgân von Brylân 7 Jun, 2018 @ 7:54am
Quite good, although a bit too OP in my opinion.
I'd remove the gold bonus from motte & bailey, being able to replace pastures with mini-citadels while keeping food and production bonuses is already very strong.
I would also remove the cover II from the chevaliers. They are so strong, even longswordmen are useless. Even trebuchets are not that useful anymore because of their slowness, unless your oponent has really good defenses... and bots won't if you rush chivalry, which you should.

Chevalier model is too small, other than that it is quality

It has served me well to stay clear of Civ mods that have brief mentions of bugs in the Comments sections. They will likely break your game (learned the hard way). But it's only fair to turn it around: I've played with this mod forever and with all kinds of set-ups (Community Balance Patch, etc). Never had a problem. Recommend.

When you put the Medieval II soundtrack in a Civ game. ONLY THIS TIME WILLIAM WON'T GET ASSASSINATED BY THE SCOTTISH ON THE SECOND TURN :steamhappy:

when playing on Yet not another earth map pack, is the capital with true starting locations in london or in normandy?
Norton 16 Jul, 2016 @ 9:31pm
@PlasmaKingSnake you need to 7zip and extract it. It's free to download.
PlasmaKingSnake 12 Jul, 2016 @ 1:04am
Direct download didn't resolve the problem.

William's Unique Decicions aren't showing up for me. The decisions LUA folders are there though. I'll reinstall from Civfanatics and see if it persists.

I'm Norman, and I approve this mod
DerigarsChairman 9 Jun, 2016 @ 8:25pm
In my battle royale normandy and france each get 1 city and are a team. i think ill give them as well as colonial legacies the capital move of the portugal brazil mod, they will be in a team with the mother country.

@Yerrow Pahtome Fair point.
Gumboots 16 Apr, 2016 @ 12:47pm
If this is William as the Duke of Normandy, should it not be William II? He was William I of as English king, but William II as the Norman Duke, which he is portrayed as here.

Great mod - THX
Proto_Carnivorum 22 Feb, 2016 @ 11:34am
This mod is a little strong. One military campaign you can sack an entire continent as long as there are new resources in the cities you sack.
bugsdoc 7 Nov, 2015 @ 7:31pm
I loved this Mod! But question, what are the titles of Normady's peace theme and war theme?
Chairman Meow (JP) 27 Sep, 2015 @ 3:10pm
Ok thank you. I have your 1066 scenario downloaded but it was just somthing I wanted to make personally. Keep up the good work with your mods.
JFD  [author] 27 Sep, 2015 @ 2:57pm
@JP Go ahead, although I did make a 1066 Deluxe scenario with those civs.
Chairman Meow (JP) 27 Sep, 2015 @ 1:03pm
Hello JFD. I was wondering if I would be able to use some of your Civilization mod's for my 1066 Plus scenario. The few I was wondering about was Norway, Normandy and Scotland. I will give credit to you for the civs.
Thank you.

Getting lots of texture load errors.
doughnutdoney 18 Aug, 2015 @ 9:17am
Downloaded this...it appears in the Mods...but when selecting a leader...cant see it. Same goes for Chruchill and JFK mods...all dont appear in the leader selection.
shim 7 Aug, 2015 @ 6:47pm
Can I ask how you made your custom civs? I'm looking to make a custom one but I have no idea how to do it because all I can find are old guides from like 2011 that I assume are outdated.
Pwn_Y0u 7 Aug, 2015 @ 12:50am
That is a really good civ, close to being OP. Just look at that OP UAs. That knight...
PixleG 5 Aug, 2015 @ 4:31am

@Astral Knight [FR]
Don't forget the cultural aspects that are only relegated to the English. Sure their culture is a mix of many different other cultures, but the English are still English and have done their own share of things which make them a distinct cultural entity.
Astral Knight [FR] 26 Jul, 2015 @ 12:27pm
And the term of "English culture" is the mix of Frank, French, Celtic, Viking and Anglo-Saxon culture...
Astral Knight [FR] 26 Jul, 2015 @ 12:26pm
@Syn Ka'an : Sure, a lot of English culture comes from French's William/Guillaume's culture, but remember that there was still a large bit of Anglo-Saxon, Viking and Celtic culture in England after the Norman Conquest. (My comment can make me look like an Englishman, but I'm Breton)
Syn Ka'an 22 Jul, 2015 @ 2:30pm
I think the whole presentation is from an English point of view, it insists too much on the vikings legacy and the spread of their culture and military, while the Normans was truly Franks. They didn't fight like Vikings but like the Franks with heavy cavalry, they builded castle like the Franks, had a Franks's hierarchy system (Duc, Baron...), they spoke French, were Christian and even genetically, the few vikings who had settled in Normandy 5 generations before were completely assimilated... so what they spread is Frank's culture and language in England.
But Englishmen doesn't like this idea ^^ (old rivalry)
Syn Ka'an 22 Jul, 2015 @ 2:30pm
Yeah it's true Swarl, the capital for Guillaume was Caen but before Guillaume it was Rouen so since the game doesn't start at the time of Guillaume maybe It's not so bad. (well ok I'm from Rouen :D)

The historic part isn't really respected in the Norman empire's presentation either.
Even the name is wrong, it's William/Guillaume II of Normandy (it's the Normans's civilization, not the English one, so we don't care if he is William I for the English)
Fara Delae 17 Jul, 2015 @ 5:01pm
As a Norman, something is bugging me as hell with this mod : you cannot have William the Conqueror and Rouen as the capital city at the same time. William's capital city was Caen. He basically built the whole city, and he and his wife are buried there. There are dozens of Norman Dukes that deserve a civilization, and most of them would fit well with a capital city in Rouen, but not this one. /nitpicking :spycon:
Alexander Supertramp 13 Jul, 2015 @ 1:17am
I'm only getting the chevalier but I'm getting an error with the motte and bailey. It's just one big red square and the game is not starting properly. How do I redownload?
MisterZippo 12 Jul, 2015 @ 10:34am
This mod has good balace ?
[Rw] Major.Mopar 21 Jun, 2015 @ 4:23pm
The mod shows up but when I go to select it as a leader, it dosnt show up. Help please
The Honorable Grant Lemasters 20 Jun, 2015 @ 4:39pm
Hey so for some reason this mod isn't showing up in my list of mods when I subscribe. I've tried to restart the game and resubscribe, but nothing is working. Any suggestions? Running Civ V version 1.0.3.279
Danek 13 Jun, 2015 @ 4:54am
Good
NerCafel 10 Jun, 2015 @ 12:32pm
This sincerely was enjoyable. 5 damage per turn was pretty weak in my opinion, but Chevalier was fine enough to beat the whole disadvantages up.
Um, by the way.. I'd like to get permission from u guys for using ur mod icons, if possible. I've gotta make my own scenario, and probably post it at my community. I assure you that i'll properly cite ur names.
Venusaisha 5 Jun, 2015 @ 4:18pm
nice
Syn Ka'an 5 Jun, 2015 @ 2:03pm
He is Guillaume/William II of Normandy (before to be William I of England)
And his Viking's origins represent only something like 1/16 of his genetic.
After 5 generations of integration and assimilation into the Frank culture and people the descendant of Rollo doesn't really have anything of Vikings.
Venusaisha 3 Jun, 2015 @ 10:11pm
interesting and useful with blou blou's Motte & Bailey mod 8)
Duc de Villeroi 3 Jun, 2015 @ 8:59am
Thanks for the clarification JFD.
JFD  [author] 3 Jun, 2015 @ 6:07am
@Duc de Villeroi the Motte & Bailey only deals 5 damage - the Citadel 30. Otherwise, it is not better than a Fort when not built on Pastures. The courthouse you get still costs maintenance, also.
Duc de Villeroi 3 Jun, 2015 @ 2:14am
How balanced is this? It sounds very OP. A free courhouse and castle in every captured city once the capital is taken + buffed Mandekalu Cavalry + free citadels all over your land?
Gooderbye 2 Jun, 2015 @ 9:17pm
good
regalmanemperor 2 Jun, 2015 @ 4:50pm
@maggintons
It will come in time.
1) Stay on the mods menu for a few minutes
2) Enter and exit the mods menu repeatedly
3) Use direct download
