MODERS NEADED !!!!
this game is amazing but theres something missing , i would really like to see the streat lights going off while there is a blackout in the city , like simcity 4 , so please moders if you can get this dream come true this game would be complete :) so for more details on what you have to do , u should let the streats light power source connected to the city power , so when theres a blackout in some part of the city you'll see every thing dark how cool is that !

@Gjafar You are misinformed. Everyone gets the day/night cycle with the free update regardless of buying the expansion -- as I imagine you will soon find out.

That said, while it may be more or less pointless at this time, this mod had a great run. It was in part thanks to this talented mod creator (along with a few others like rmbackslash) that we finally got an official day/night cycle in the first place. Thank you once again for all your hard work, and look forward to seeing anything new you make if you choose to do so!

What happen with the mod creator??? there is no news about a mod update??
Øuantum3 2 Jul, 2015 @ 12:36pm
Looks so promising. Can you add a random value changer so that way, lights won't turn on all at the same time? It's nice to see how some windows from buildings gets lit while others just don't too. Thanks a lot!
Familia_VJ 24 Jun, 2015 @ 11:50pm
the streetlights doesnt work.
Drinking Gasoline 22 Jun, 2015 @ 3:51pm
MOD DOESNT WORK!!! WTF . FIX IT ALREADY. so what happens is, well no lights at all work for me. no cars. no buildings, no street lights. i gotta light one up now from the stress

manu 24 May, 2015 @ 4:04am
Well, three is no night life? awesome mod but awful buildings... can you please tell is the fault in the game?
sagiluv1 22 May, 2015 @ 4:30am
How do I control the cycle please?
Nocturnal Supremacy 16 May, 2015 @ 9:18am
Hey, really like this mod, would you consider releasing a version featuring just the headlights for those using higher resolutions?

I'm playing at 2560x1440 so the street lights don't function that well like you explain in the description.

Cheers

Uber-n00bie 12 May, 2015 @ 5:01pm
Was this done on purpose to save on performance? I ask this since many complained about a very significant frame loss when they zoomed out far. I hardly notice any performance hit on my machine, but since the visual effects rarely show up because I'm not looking straight down near the ground most of the time during gameplay, it almost defeats the purpose of this mod altogether imo.

That said, I truly appreciate all the work done on this mod and its potential is immesnse. I just hope this issue gets resolved soon so people can enjoy it properly. Thank you!
Uber-n00bie 12 May, 2015 @ 5:01pm
Haven't seen many mentioning this issue, but while this mod "works" for me to an extent, it's extremely dependant on the camera angle.

In other words, unless my camera is very zoomed-in, and pointed almost completely down square at the ground, none or the lights show up. This goes for vehicles as well as lights from the street itself. So it looks fine whenever I'm looking straight down at a very low altitude, but as soon as I tilt up or zoom out some, all the lights from this mod do no show up whatsoever.

Pretty cute. @Dinkelberg, did you use the other mod with it as well, it does the sun cycle part.
Muspell 10 May, 2015 @ 5:48am
at day time the lights on the cars are "on" and at night they are "off" so yeah...

CITIES IN MOTION 2 HAD NIGHTTIME, WHY DOES THIS GAME NOT HAVE IT
lnomsim 9 May, 2015 @ 2:05pm
I use it wit the moving sun mod like it is requested, but there is no night time in this cycle, so your mod doesn't seemes to work with it.
Rigeios 8 May, 2015 @ 8:34pm
it is always nighttime. the title says there is a cycle, so is this a bug?
Alvargon 8 May, 2015 @ 7:19pm
Very nice mod ^^
Can we change the timeline?
leftbehind 8 May, 2015 @ 11:08am
@mbrakels Traffic++ mod adds several new roads ...if it's possible to make your mod recognise them, details are on github (line 52 onwards): https://github.com/joaofarias/csl-traffic/blob/master/CSL-Traffic/Initializer.cs
DrOsaka 6 May, 2015 @ 1:33pm
So this isn't really a problem (And I don't want to create an account to post an issue, sorry) but the streetlights only emit light when the camera is at a certain elevation
TeeDawg 6 May, 2015 @ 10:53am
no streetlights, and if any it is very staticy and does not render well
schmip 6 May, 2015 @ 7:30am
@GordonDry and @DrOsaka, i think the creator would apreciate it if you posted this in "Please report problems here"
GordonDry 5 May, 2015 @ 10:10am
Actually I don't get any steet lights emitting, also not on vanilla 2-lane roads.
Uber-n00bie 5 May, 2015 @ 8:58am
Originally, since this game was released almost 2 months ago, I thought by now we'd at least get told they were officially PLANNING on patching day/night cycles soon (along with many other things). But since we're still basically in the dark on that, CO will probably incorporate your work into the game at a later date like they have with a few other great mods.

Speculation aside, this is nothing short of incredible. I really look forward to seeing what else can be done with this. Thank you!!
cRAGGLEOz 5 May, 2015 @ 2:47am
Why aren't CO funding this!!
teaquam  [author] 4 May, 2015 @ 5:02pm
@GordonDry Traffic Manager should be no problem. German Roads and Some Roads might give a problem, because they use other names for the roads. At the moment online two-lane street are supported.
teaquam  [author] 4 May, 2015 @ 4:59pm
@Timmiej93 The performance should be much beter now.
Timmiej93 3 May, 2015 @ 3:49pm
I totally agree with you derek328. I loved that part of simcity where you could really see the days pass by, and everything was moving according to the time of day.

Now, about the mod: It's great (like we all knew it would be), but I really hope optimisation is possible in the future.
I'm running at 1080p, high settings, 30 fps usually.
When I load up the map, it drops down to approx. 15 fps for a few seconds, then reverts to normal. When the night kicks in, I have to go all the way zoomed in to the ground to keep it at 30 fps. Zooming out means a drastical drop in frames. Zooming al the way out results in 1, maybe 2 fps.
I understand this is a huge mod, and a heavyweight as well, so I'm not complaining. I do however really hope there is a way to optimize.

C:SL desperately needs is a Timescale fix. Cars now get stuck at intersections for "days" - it's ridiculous. This is one part Simcity got right together with rush-hour traffic, and I loved it. C:SL needs a patch so 1 game month = 8 hours, 1 game season = 24 hours, 1 game year = 96 hours. This will be our 1x speed, and those who want to play faster can speed it up.

This makes every hour = 3.75 game days, or 1.5 game hours per real life minute. If we start at game midnight, the first "morning rush hour" will be ~4 mins into gameplay which is *much* better. Traffic and walking speed etc might need updates, but CO devs said it isn't too difficult to change the timescale. This will undoubtedly be the BEST mod out there.

@Forkboy22
Every Cim has it's own routine. A traffic multiplier would have to create fake cars which do not represent a cim.
I think a better solution would be to introduce some kind of clock which represents one weekday and has a cycle of maybe 24 times the avarage commute time. Then you need to assign every cim a time when its work starts through a gaussian distribution. In the end you would need to sync that clock with moving sun mod.
In addition to that it would be nice to have weekends where most cims are heading for parks and commercial buildings, but that would probably mess with game mechanics.
GordonDry 3 May, 2015 @ 5:26am
My street lamps don't emit light.
Could it be that mods like German Roads, Some Roads and Traffic Manager are reason?
And the "night" of the automatic cycle of Moving Sun is "cut", so barely existing.
Darhagonable 3 May, 2015 @ 4:20am
So laggy!

make it less laggy and I will love i!
ionionion 2 May, 2015 @ 9:25pm
i love it!!! Thank's for you're kind
Rotiti 2 May, 2015 @ 9:15am
i got terrible delay when open this mod...any way, good job
Hawk Tuah 2 May, 2015 @ 7:54am
Very cool. One more step towards having morning and evening rush hours? Is there is a traffic multiplier that can be coordinated with the simulated time of day?
leftbehind 2 May, 2015 @ 5:27am
