Thanks for the AD update. Will give it a try again sometimes.

This idea is excellent and essential, a must have for any city builder game :D thanks !
I LOVE IT ! Thanks for your work.

Hi Cthullhu! Love this small asset! One question, are you thinking in updating this for AD? Some lights would be great!

@dustbuny http://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=524693280

Removed the power generation and added a beacon light.

@inn0s Power output being based on wind is actually more accurate I think. Stronger winds make stronger waves. Sometimes the flow of water and the direction of the waves can be the complete oposite of eachother.

I thought this was a buoy. Could someone make a buoy somewhat like this?

What a shame that it's just a tiny advanced wind turbine. I would love to see that it generates more power based on a stronger water stream instead of wind. But still, I like it! :Abgoldstar:

@derek328 I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure mods cannot include any custom animation, so that would be a "no" to your question. At least for now. Maybe CO will enable that some day

is there any way to make these wabble alongside the water, like a cruise ship? it would be more realistic if that could happen instead of being still!

Just started using this in my LP! Great plopable! Nicely done!
SplitBURST 23 Apr, 2015 @ 2:41am
looks cool!

can you make these a little more cheaper? because i'm using them like the underground power cables mod except for water :P

No this is current tech http://forbesindia.com/printcontent/32478 is kinda what I used to reference along with a few other pictures

Is this based on an irl power generator, or is it sort of sci-fi?
leftbehind 22 Apr, 2015 @ 8:21pm
Thx :D Here's what it looks like from above btw: https://www.google.com/maps/@53.6454185,-1.9202847,179m/data=!3m1!1e3

That would be cool, let me see what I can come up with

Could be so cheeky as to put in a request?

Just built my first hydro dam and it's begging for a reservoir monitoring station in the lake behind it. A big concrete post with a small round building on top and a walkway round the outside. Sometimes built on small rock outcrops, sometimes they are in water. If a bit of footpath sticks out the side I'd be able to complete the path to a nearby road or something; if done as a park people might visit. They never have a road near them (so no deaths/garbage/crime as service vehicles can't reach them).

Example (from Scammonden Reservoir, UK): https://www.google.com/maps/views/view/103128708511181190366/gphoto/5473769157759697170?gl=gb

I was unable to get current strength to work right, so i used the wind maps which is realistic http://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/facts/waves.html :)
Capnbludd 22 Apr, 2015 @ 2:25pm
Does it work off of water current strength like a dam or wind strength like a turbine? I know how a real one works but I'm curious as to how this needs to be placed. Eitherway it is a great addition to the choices for power generation.

Wow! This is SO unique and Cool looking! Great Job and Thank You for the Upload!

This is awesome! Did you get it working by starting from the advanced turbine asset? Just curious to know how you got the variable power generation.

thanks for sharing the image link in the description since steam is being a steaming pos. looks good!
