Works fine. Thanks. (Using it on Linux with Proton.)
MrMontana1889 25 Mar, 2024 @ 4:56pm
@rmbackslash Can you consider sharing the source on Github? I can attempt to migrate it to CS2. I absolutely love this mod.
spdyvkng 5 Apr, 2023 @ 11:27am
Works with all the latest Hubs and Transport. Don't believe compatibility mod nor Load Order Tool V2
Moondog548 13 Mar, 2023 @ 1:24pm
Just confirming that this still works fine for me after all these years (though it does still need to be manually corrected +/-180 degrees).
TC.NV 11 Jan, 2023 @ 12:09pm
No degrees option? I wanted to use this for setting runway numbers.
Neverminder 12 Jul, 2022 @ 10:08pm
is there no updated alternative to this?
Aylith 1 Jul, 2022 @ 7:51pm
This works perfectly fine for me, but I do find it funny that a mod with "really updated" in the name actually hasn't been updated in over 7 years.
vsvg.scattered 16 Apr, 2022 @ 12:00pm
Of, I thought CS was meant to broaden horizons within the Northern GHemisphere by setting all its towns south of the Equator. With this mod I am less sure, now, what they mean.

Reminds me of that "MTV News" globe that rotated backwards, yet few noticed.
Drift_91 23 Jan, 2022 @ 12:01am
Seems to be working fine for me. Of course you need to double click the center of the compass and set the 180 degree offset for it to be accurate.
MrRichRod 28 Feb, 2021 @ 6:29pm
This works great along with my other 45GB of mods and assets.
pmr92music 20 Feb, 2021 @ 6:42pm
Been working for me for months
Tom of Essex 22 Jul, 2020 @ 7:52am
This made my game crash. Also, does not give accurate readings of poles. Do not install.
Nope, not me. 15 Apr, 2020 @ 3:43pm
It's fine for me, but it might be incompatible with another popular mod.
CyberHawk44 13 Apr, 2020 @ 9:53pm
For me it works.
leftbehind 29 Mar, 2020 @ 1:21pm
I've had reports this is still working, despite what the google spreadsheet says - can anyone confirm?
Jie 17 Jan, 2020 @ 9:23pm
@ rmbackslash

I think your compass shows just the opposite position ,as the sunset position it shows East, the sunrise position it shows West.
#Orbitaller 13 Dec, 2018 @ 1:40am
It is still working on 1.11 (Industries)

However, you will notice that the sun will rise from the West and set into the East in default compass setup when playing with default themes (no custom themes selected) and many of custom themes. To mitigate this, you can set the offset dir. to 180 (180 degrees) and the sun will rise from the correct "East".

This mod came since the begining of Cities: Skylines. The game does not have day and night cycle yet at that time. The North the compass pointed to is "Map North".

However when the cycle has been impremented by the publisher since After Dark, they may overlooked this and misplaced the sun's pathway in the default themes' setup. (The theme setup has the latitudal and longitudal setting to let thememakers decided where the sun should rise, including its right ascention and inclination.) So we have to ajust the compass accordingly.

Works fine for me on 1.10 (Parklife) :)
Finwickle 16 Aug, 2018 @ 12:31pm
Is the source for this mod available somewhere? I'd like to check what is causing the NullReferenceException in the log.
Finwickle 29 Jul, 2018 @ 2:03pm
It works fine for me with 1.10, but I don't have the Parklife DLC (yet).
Jie 4 Jun, 2018 @ 6:13pm
@🦊狐桜花

It's not working with Parklife the new DLC.
Michiko 20 Apr, 2018 @ 6:23pm
I dunno why but I can't get this to work anymore somehow. It used to work but I redid my mod list and now it just doesn't show up, even if I press C. Already tried unsubscribing and resubscribing, still nothing.
Weaver 29 Jun, 2017 @ 1:49am
Works fine, couple features I'd really like though:

- Let me have the compass rose/spikes without any letters
- Auto hide the thing when I hide the UI, if I really want it in a no-ui shot I'll reenable it myself
- Maybe a bug, but you can't close the options menu except by making the compass appear and clicking the center, which is annoying if it's hidden but auto-show is off.
MadTech 26 May, 2017 @ 5:36pm
Working fine for me in Mass Transit DLC :steamhappy:
jjeff1955 19 Apr, 2017 @ 2:38am
Awsome! I Love this Compass. Thank You very much for your Content.
it only Shows up for me when I am scrolling the Map and turning. I like this Feature.
baxton29 9 Jan, 2017 @ 10:22am
I have the mod enabled but it isn't showing up even if I press the hotkey "C". What am I doing wrong?
AmiPolizeiFunk 18 Dec, 2016 @ 12:22pm
a hotkey for north would be awesome
MaestroII 14 Dec, 2016 @ 1:42pm
This mod works with v1.6 aka Natural Disasters
UguuDoki 20 Sep, 2016 @ 9:12pm
Still recurrent since Finwickle reported a year ago...

The west-to-east sun is a game issue. It can be fixed with the Time Warp mod (with a negative longitude value).
Smacky 21 Mar, 2016 @ 7:56am
I really like this mod, but unless C:S Lore has the Earth rotating backwards, the compass is 180 degrees off.
☆Heike'sFootSlave™☆ 20 Feb, 2016 @ 11:37pm
I have the Sourcefiles for this Mod but this fuc***g a**hole Visual Studio is kicking my nerves!
Fukk I am damn too STUPID to get this s*it with modding in my brain (if there is a brain :D )

If anyone is interested to take a look at this Mod and maybe can update it for us, here you are, just comment And I upload them to whatever you want :(

Wish I could just get a bit coding into my mind!!!
I am so depressed, I wish all others are Dead :D :D :D
MadTech 20 Feb, 2016 @ 11:24am
With Snowfall this is working as it has in the past except when you open the options menu, it will not close again and everytime you press a key it changes the Hotkey making it impossible to play the game. Lesson of the day, "Don't go into the options menu" :steamfacepalm:
Bephemelius 1 Nov, 2015 @ 10:44am
Just so you know, the sun with the compass apparently rises on the West and it sets in the East.:steamsad:
MrMontana1889 1 Nov, 2015 @ 7:06am
I figured out how to get this working again. I had to delete the compass data file AND I reset my keymappings since the default for the Compass is C (my "C" is for electricity). I then remapped Compass to M and Electricity to C and it is now working every time. :steamhappy:
MrMontana1889 24 Oct, 2015 @ 6:13pm
Does anyone know if the source for this mod is available or not? I'd like to try and get it working. I am really missing it - a lot.
MrMontana1889 14 Oct, 2015 @ 1:22pm
@Finwickle - It's not showing at all. The shortcut key I assign, m, doesn't do anything. Any ideas? i'm really, really missing it.
Finwickle 11 Oct, 2015 @ 5:49am
It's working for me. Is it not working at all for you, as in not showing?
MrMontana1889 9 Oct, 2015 @ 7:08am
Any chance on a fix for using the compass in After Dark? I'm really, really missing it.
L2 7 Oct, 2015 @ 10:34am
A new thing of uselles things 2015!
Finwickle 4 Oct, 2015 @ 1:04pm
@roberto tomás: the mod already has a scaling and moving option. Check the options menu. I have it sitting nicely on the UI bar.

A workaround for the sun going from west to east is using the Time Warp mod. Change the longitude to a negative value and the sun behaves normally again.

roberto tomás 3 Oct, 2015 @ 7:00am
great mod! any chance you can add a scaling option so it can be made to fit on the UI bar?
vonpaulus 26 Sep, 2015 @ 11:35pm
Same for me. Any chance for After Dark fix?
WattX 26 Sep, 2015 @ 5:38am
since After Dark there is trouble with the Mod. The Sun goes down in the East and wake up in the West - horrible ...
Finwickle 24 Sep, 2015 @ 2:30pm
This mods works fine for me too thankfully, but it gives an error in the output.log:

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Cahos Rahne Veloza 24 Sep, 2015 @ 7:33am
Whew~! Thankfully still works under the latest 1.2.0 (After Dark) update, granted I've only tested with the base game though as I still don't have the EP yet.
MrMontana1889 28 Aug, 2015 @ 2:39pm
For some reason this mod is not working for me. I don't have many mods enabled anyway and it used to work. Any ideas on how to get it working again?

I really, really, really miss it.
benzoll 28 Jul, 2015 @ 5:12pm
Works fine in v1.1.1c
Mine Mine 1 Jul, 2015 @ 11:40pm
Love the mod. Would be great to be able to double-tap the W A S D keys for N W S E. Saves mousing over to click a toolbar button. Even without this improvement though, this mod's a keeper.
