You cant use tainted water to "Heat with FRH" this is a bug I believe. The chemical reaction wouldnt care fi the water is safe to drink or not.
Wilburt 5 May @ 3:53pm
can you make a setting for it to only spawn boxes of mre's and only at military locations and in military vehicles

Newest update appears to have caused some issues with the game. When heating up the MRE you get an additional object which is the heated food as well as the unheated, same with adding the hot sauce, so you end up with 3x the meal. Pretty sure it's not a conflict with any other mods I'm running. Not sure if others have encountered the same issue. Hoping the next update fixes this as this is one of my favourite mods out there

where do I find the mres in game?
Hx  [author] 28 Mar @ 7:12pm
@Kimchi Warrior

Hx  [author] 4 Mar @ 3:02am
@silverlanse 음료 쪽을 제외한 나머지 수치는 기존 모드에서 변경 한 점이 없습니다
silverlanse 4 Mar @ 2:56am
치킨아라킹 칼로리가 다른거랑 비교해서 엄청나게 낮은데 한번 확인해 주실수 있나요?
14칼로리밖에 안됩니다.

@Nepenthe Sorry, totally missed your post - thanks for letting me know!

Used to love MREs, million years ago on an operation pre 9/11 my unit swapped all of the crap boil in a bag rations we had with some USMC guys we bumped into. They didn't look happy as started to eat and we sped off with the good stuff!

@Kimchi Warrior

Hi. Thank you for making a realistic MRE mod. I subscribed to this mod because it says 'Real' and tried it, but the only thing I'm disappointed about is the fatigue reduction of coffee. The vanilla coffee item has a weight of 1 and a fatigue reduction value of 50, but the coffee in this Real MRE mod has a weight of 0.05 and a fatigue reduction value of 50, the same as the vanilla coffee. This is where I think there is a gap. I think the fatigue reduction number should be lowered to 20 or less (although 20 is still a high number), and my friend also shared his disappointment. I think the weight, calories, variety, and composition of the MREs are great, but the coffee. I don't think the fatigue reduction numbers for coffee are realistic.

Too bad we can't put it on a tray...

@Brynjar "Nice!"
Brynjar 10 Feb @ 9:19pm
Who else is here thinking of Steve1989MREInfo?
Nepenthe 7 Feb @ 5:42pm
@FlipFlop it worked for me BUT due to the jank in incomplete fluid and crafting systems you need to have the amount of water needed in a single container; you can't use a nearby source like a sink. Since the recipes need 1L of water that meant having to fill up my water skin, use the recipes and then refill.

I'm going to adjust the mod to use less water (a liter feel like far to much to rehydrate fruit/cook a meal pack) and will try out the various beverages when I find a mug.
Nepenthe 7 Feb @ 5:32pm
These MREs are so fiddly to deal with and I love every moment of it. I got to try a US MRE in 1993 while in the middle east (gulf war leftovers) and this captures the feeling of dealing with all those little packets perfectly. And those tiny bottles of tobasco I'd forgotten all about!
maxim_yeet2 1 Feb @ 8:51am
It works well, its just that The things like the Coffe and beverage bases dont work, including the FRH. If it could be fixed Steve would be proud.
Flipflop 31 Jan @ 11:58am
@Diane, thank you. I've heard that, but, despite trying different surfaces, I've yet to get it to work. Early days of unstable though, could just be a bug.
Diane 31 Jan @ 9:26am
@flipflop you need a surface to cut bread and sharp knife not sure which knife it is you need thou
Flipflop 31 Jan @ 4:28am
@macinsight - good to know, thought I was just doing something wrong (given some of the weird cooking changes... I've still not been able to slice bread ffs).
macinsight 30 Jan @ 5:01pm
@Flipflop that's likely due to the fluid system changes, I'm toying around with some potential fixes right now.
Flipflop 30 Jan @ 8:27am
Oddly, anything that requires water (freeze dried fruit, heat pack) doesn't seem to work in B42 (zero issues with the previous B41 version). Anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Cyanide MG 27 Jan @ 10:29pm
Steve and me will always approve of that NICE HISS. :D
Fragment-Signal 27 Jan @ 1:46am
I just kinda assumed some of them are the results of military airdrops and aid distribution to survivors inside the initial containment zone, and it makes sense they'd at least be able to distribute something as simple as some extra MRE's to the local police departments.I know the military was supposed to be really tight lipped about the entire containment effort, but giving the police departments a little extra food security so that they can try to help keep order together better seems like a low effort no-brainer move.
Gimbo 25 Jan @ 2:54pm
there is the possibility to add a sandbox option of the spawn points? i love themod but spawning in police stations and cars is unrealistic and make the game to easy
Fragment-Signal 24 Jan @ 11:22am
This MRE mod is better than all the others because it actually lets me open the bag up and use all the components, -I mean it even includes the spoon for crying out loud- whereas all the other MRE mods treat it like it's just one big unit of food.

Like maybe I don't need to eat the whole thing right now and I just wanna have the cheese and crackers, maybe I'm short on water so I don't use the FRH, or maybe I can really sit down and set everything out, and fastidiously enjoy every component as it was designed too, heating up the entree with the FRH and adding hot sauce, mixing the beverage powder and coffee powder, spreading the cheese on the crackers.

It's the perfect MRE mod.
Deathstick 19 Jan @ 1:13am
Let's get this out onto a tray. Nice!
Meel 18 Jan @ 12:52pm
Glad this mod made it over, was a always a favorite
Metal Izanagi 17 Jan @ 6:48pm
@Russian dude What's with the persecution complex? Not EVERYTHING is related to your country trying to take Ukraine's land, culture, and people.
Hx  [author] 17 Jan @ 9:43am
I've removed the old translations but will restore the rest, minus the new additions.
russbarbarian 17 Jan @ 9:40am
Why was the Russian language removed? It was working. Politics again where it shouldn't be?
Hx  [author] 16 Jan @ 1:26pm
@rav2n fix recipe. thank you
rav2n 16 Jan @ 1:12pm
Bug: In the crafting menu you can create a pallet with 1 box for free.

We're so back, baby
MrHrulgin 13 Jan @ 6:36pm
Delightful. So glad to see this mod return in B42.
Hx  [author] 13 Jan @ 4:17pm
@Athens111 We will apply the changes once you post them on the Discussions board.
Athens111 13 Jan @ 4:11pm
Textures and icons need a little bit of rework. I'd be happy to help if you want to! Otherwise great mod!
homeworld 13 Jan @ 2:52pm
Thank you!!
Codemonkey3 13 Jan @ 10:29am
Love this mod, thank you so much for bringing it over to B42. Breaking it open for all the little individual parts and being styled like the original MRE is too good.
