I've been testing it and it seems to work with mod 1356. There are just some dynamics and events that won't appear the first time because they're programmed to happen after 1444, but otherwise it works perfectly.
Nolexios  [author] 14 Apr @ 3:41pm
@Bucellarius94
No. But Eternal Radiance of Oikoumene probably does.
Bucellarius94 14 Apr @ 4:02am
Works with 1356 mod?

@Ahruman
Thanks for the feedback — I did overlook this issue. Some special interactions for exarchates do require a specific primary culture...
In the next update, I'll remove the culture-switching effect from exarchates, and make some minor adjustments to the requirements for the special interactions.
Ahruman 27 Mar @ 2:57pm
Is turning a nation into a Theme or Exarchate meant to culturally convert them every time? There are at least some Exarchate special subject modifiers that can be applied to subjects of a given regional culture, but when you turn them into an exarchate their culture automatically flips to Greek.

There is now a Discord for English discussion of the mod. See the link in the description!

@刀锋行歌(Blade Chanter)
Thanks a lot the command did the trick.
刀锋行歌(Blade Chanter) 12 Mar @ 8:12am
@maxivore
If you still have the Restore Local Organizations decision available, you can complete it to obtain the Reestablished Recruitment System modifier, which also fulfills the requirements for both missions.
If you haven't completed the decision within 50 years and have already experienced a disaster, I suspect this might be due to a previous bug in the base mod.You can try resubscribing to the base mod and entering the following command in the console:"event KRO_on_start_delay_disaster_event.2 "
This event should grant you the Collapsed Military System modifier.Apologies for the oversight and any impact it may have had on your experience.
maxivore 12 Mar @ 6:44am
Hi, first thanks for the mod and the trad, they are really great.

I just have a little problem with the mission tree. I can’t achieve two missions and they block me to go further into the mission tree.The missions are “Dominating the east” and “Reform military system”, I have all the conditions except I don’t have the modifier “collapsed military system” and don’t know how to trigger it. Yet I have the modifier decandent standing army. So if someone has a solution I will gladly take it.

Thanks

@Ckasaron
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve chosen to make adjustments without drastically changing the effects of Byzantium's mission tree. This way, old save files can still be used without issues...
刀锋行歌(Blade Chanter) 9 Mar @ 12:38pm
@Ckasaron
I have made some adjustments to the base mod. You can resubscribe to update it.
Now, after obtaining the Reformed Byzantine Monarchy, Byzantium can also unlock the Theme series of decisions and related diplomatic interactions. However, this currently only includes Themes, and does not include Exarchates.
Ckasaron 9 Mar @ 12:14pm
@刀锋行歌Blade Chanter thank you for the explanation. I noticed I was able to use Autocephalous Patriarchate subjects just fine, and wanted to know if I could eventually use the others.

Given that PDX in vanilla already has a cosmetic rename of Byz to "Eastern Roman Empire," the same conditions for that could allow changing Byz into the new ERE tag this mod brings. Themes could be unlocked from "The Theme System" government reform Byz has access to already.
Nolexios  [author] 9 Mar @ 11:40am
@Brisk Berd
Your problem might be caused by the dependency not working due to a recent change of the base mod descriptor name. Try unsubbing and resubbing to the translation and see if it fixes.
Brisk Berd 9 Mar @ 9:59am
Great mod, some of the most in-depth work i've ever played. I've come back to it recently with this translation mod and all of the text for trebizond is scrambled english characters as if this mod wasn't enabled. I've played around with my mods setup and have not been successful in fixing it. Any help with this would be much appreciated
@Ckasaron
In this mod, the Eastern Roman Empire functions as an alternative counterpart to the Byzantium. Currently, forming one excludes the other.
Likewise, themes are designed as a distinct yet parallel system to the pronoiars. In the current version, themes are exclusively tied to the Eastern Roman Empire tag. However, I may consider reworking themes to be tied to the government mechanism instead, allowing mid-game Byzantium to establish them as well in future updates...
Ckasaron 6 Mar @ 5:19am
@刀锋行歌Blade Chanter @Nolexios
Are the same government reforms (such as creating Theme subjects and related subjects) available to Byzantium or just Trebizond? I'm currently in a playthrough as Byzantium with Alexiad, Europa Expanded w/ compatch, Imperium Orthodoxae, and Renovatio Imperii mods active among others. I have started reconquering conquering southern Italy, and am nearly done reconquering both the Balkans and Eastern Anatolia. I can make pronoiars but not yet make Themes, Tagmata, or any other unique subjects. I'm amassing a swarm of PUs to unite the Orthodox world in preparation for the Orthodox League War declared by Ecumenical Council. Can Byz form the Eastern Roman Empire tag to unlock these subjects later or is it just Trebizond?
@TheLonelyWarrior
Thanks for the suggestion! The current update plan includes more disasters and interactive events after defeating the Ottomans to enrich the mid-game experience and prevent it from becoming too easy or monotonous.
This also covers Janissary or Tagmata-related uprisings and privileges, among other things. However, I'm still unsure whether these mechanics will be implemented as an estate. While I could draw heavily from Ottoman mechanics, I currently don't have much time to refine the details and troubleshoot potential bugs...
TheLonelyWarrior 4 Mar @ 5:26am
Love the mod mate, it's my favorite one.
Small suggestion, but have you thought about adding a legionary/military estate similar to the Janissaries? I noted while playing that it's really easy to conquer all of Europe when you are done with the Ottoman Empire. A legionary/army estate would add a bit more difficulty especially if there are crisis.
Nolexios  [author] 3 Mar @ 6:20pm
@Fallen
I added some screenshots showing the additions to the government and province interfaces. If you can't see them, if means you have a conflicting mod enabled that edits the same interface.
󠀡󠀡 2 Mar @ 9:00pm
completed a few missions that add alot to the government interface but i dont see what it talking about, is it not finished or am i tweaking? "additional interaction interface" of the "government interface" the invasion thing popped up for covert actions but nothing to do with government stuff also the varangrian guard is nowhere to be seen, completed the mission for it and got the 5 spawnables but no idea where to recruit, thought it would be where it said but ui is so cramped maybe its lost in the sauce?
Ckasaron 2 Mar @ 6:25pm
Thank you very much @Nolexios for the fast response!
Nolexios  [author] 2 Mar @ 2:05pm
@Ckasaron
Just updated the compatch. Now the event will fire and Trebizond shouldn't get annexed by Ottomans if they're a vassal.
Ckasaron 2 Mar @ 12:14pm
I'm playing a solo campaign as Byzantines using your mod. I noticed a couple odd issues with Europa Expanded and the compatibility patch for it and Alexiad.

1. The EE mission tree event "The Decay of Rome" doesn't fire until the scripted Byz-Otto war triggers (when Byz goes independent). This makes the early phase a little harder to do as this event gives Byz cores on the West Anatolian coastline. Sometimes it doesn't fire at all.

2. The EE Byz-Trebizond event "Familiar Ties" can make Trebizond a Byzantine vassal. Problem is, when war against Ottomans is declared, Trebizond still gets instantly annexed by Ottomans without checking if they are a vassal or not. I guess this was an unintended conflict b/t the two?

Many thanks for translation! ^^
AverageEU4Enjoyer 21 Feb @ 11:58am
I get a crash to desktop when the collapse of the ottomans event triggers unfortunately.
Nolexios  [author] 18 Feb @ 10:08am
@aaro.halme
Thanks for letting me know. I’ll fix it in the next update.
aaro.halme 18 Feb @ 9:54am
While this is the English translation, I would like to note that the "Legacy of the Reconquest" modifier is listed as giving 10% administrative efficiency in the mission tab, but the modifier itself instead gives 10% governing cap.
The other 5 modifiers work just fine though.

Make this a DLC and I'd willingly pay :coinstack::fist2::crossed:
SUOH 15 Feb @ 10:11pm
Hi, may I know how is translation done? how do you translate the encoded txt and what other things are required.
Commander Floch 12 Feb @ 6:44am
Amazing mod! I love the missions you have for Trezbiond but especially the ones for Eastern Rome. Great Orthodox addons as well, really makes the religion more fun.
Nolexios  [author] 30 Jan @ 6:09am
@Vin
It’s on the religion view tab. If you can’t see it you probably have a conflicting mod enabled that edits religion view GUI.
Vin 30 Jan @ 3:02am
Sorry for a stupid question, but I can't find the Orthodox Ecumenical interface. Where is it?
Nolexios  [author] 28 Jan @ 4:32pm
@Ckasaron
Updated so that the disaster can trigger if Byzantium is a tributary.
Nolexios  [author] 28 Jan @ 10:30am
@ZeroW
Currently no discord, but I could make one
Nolexios  [author] 28 Jan @ 10:26am
@dassid
Blade Chanter said he might make the Ecumenical Church interface a standalone some time in the future, but for now you’ll have to play with the full mod. Note that even if it was a standalone feature, it would still conflict with any mod that edits religion GUI.
Ckasaron 28 Jan @ 6:14am
@Nolexios, I just now had a chance to test out Alexiad & Union Revolt together - there are small conflicts in the history files and terms of the Union Revolt disaster which cause their history files to conflict. Most of the elements of the Union Revolt mod don't actually conflict at all with your English translation nor even the Chinese version, based on a brief scan of the files in common using Notepad++. The sole exception is the Union Revolt disaster not triggering when Byz is a subject of someone else, which they start as a tributary of the Ottomans.

Unfortunately, I do not know how to merge together the file types that overlap here, or if that is needed.
dassid 28 Jan @ 4:48am
Would it be possible to make the Orthodox improvements a standalone mod? It's sorely needed!
ZeroW 28 Jan @ 4:48am
Is there discord for this mod?
Ckasaron 26 Jan @ 9:27pm
Oh wow! Thank you very much Nolexios! I hope that will solve the incompatibility issue with it. Does the startup Union Revolt trigger like normal?
Nolexios  [author] 26 Jan @ 4:04pm
@Ckasaron
Sure. I just added a on startup effect to the translation so if that mod is active it'll make them Catholic.
Ckasaron 26 Jan @ 3:27pm
@Nolexios
Thank you very much for that! If it isn't too much to ask, I would love to see a compatibility patch added for "The Council of Florence and the Union Revolt" by RMS Oceanic. It works alongside EE fine, but as it makes Ioannes & Konstantine Catholic in a mini-disaster, it conflicts with the history file for Alexiad where they're Orthodox.
Nolexios  [author] 26 Jan @ 3:24pm
@Ckasaron
The missing part of Byzantine mission tree was due to a rogue bracket in the Europa Expanded compatibility patch, which is fixed now. Unsubscribe and resubscribe to the patch to make sure you have the latest version.

The missing government reform would have to be a conflict with another mod you're using.
Ckasaron 25 Jan @ 11:39am
I noticed something weird when using your mod - the Byzantine Tier 2 Gov Reform "Reform The Pronoia System" is missing. As is most of the PDX mission tree for Byz (the flavor part with the branching missions about what to do with pronoiars).
Ckasaron 23 Jan @ 6:44am
Thank you very much, @Nolexios.
Nolexios  [author] 22 Jan @ 8:49am
@Ckasaron
Yes, that's correct.
Ckasaron 22 Jan @ 7:00am
Is the concept of "Patriarch Authority" still used in this overhaul of Orthodox faith mechanics? Given how Europa Expanded, as well as several other Byzantine flavor mods, have events which add/subtract P.A., I would guess it is, but I am just asking here to be sure. To my understanding, the number still exists, but you have much more to do with it, sorta like Catholicism & Papal Influence.
