Thank you so much @ComqLex! Unfortunately, I’m not planning to finish the map. It didn’t make it to Stage 2 of the contest and has some fundamental issues that can’t be easily fixed. So it wouldn’t make sense to start an art pass. But rest assured, this won’t be my last CS2 map.

@sapphiredragon thank you so much for your feedback, I appreciate it! You don't need to worry about the currently accessible roofs. I usually start adding clip brushes once the basic geometry is finalized. Otherwise I keep redoing the same work over and over. You are right about the long fighting distances on B site. I definitely have to do something about them. Also I'm planning to rework mid. Feedback so far has been that it is too complex and too open. Also as you've mentioned the pit doesn't contribute to gameplay. I thought it would be visually interesting but tbh it doesn't add a lot and falling into it while walking backwards is especially frustrating. The lighting is also still not finalized and leads to a few rendering issues in some spots. This will get fixed in a later iteration too.

The map has promise, but it also has a few issues. I understand it is nowhere near completion, but I figure it's best to give feedback while in the early stages of development.
There are plenty of ways to get on rooftops. This is especially bad on A, as the CT on retake has to watch directly above him. You can even get on the broken tower near B to get a crazy angle.
B loves long-range angles, which can be frustrating on retake. It feels too easy as a T.
The Pit in Mid doesn't really feel like it contributes much to the gameplay. I personally am not a fan, but maybe I'm just salty about accidentally falling in.
There are some lighting issues in a few places near T spawn; the room above Wine in particular is very dark, and there are no invisible walls preventing you from hopping the railing.
Other than these, the map is great, and I'd love to see where it goes. Apart from the standing on roof issue, A is especially good in my opinion; it's simple, but with so many ways to play it.

"Monastero" is a fantastic new map for Counter-Strike 2, set on the beautiful shores of Lake Como. It’s got this great mix of scenic Italian resorts and strategic gameplay. You’ll be fighting around canals and crucial spots like a boat dock or thermal springs.

Gameplay-wise, Monastero offers a bit of everything. There are tight alleys for close fights and open spaces for snipers. It’s visually stunning and strategically challenging, making it a must-play. If you’re looking for a fresh and exciting map, Monastero is definitely worth checking out.

I really must say, you have outdone yourself once again. Although there is still a lot of work ahead of you visually, the layout of Monastero is impressive due to your remarkable creativity.
I hope you can gather enough constructive criticism to adjust the layout of the map a bit better and make the gameplay in general a bit smoother. As an example of constructive criticism, I would suggest making the canal in the middle passable to allow rotation from A to B through the T-side.
I’ve been following your work since the debut of the Wingman map de_blossom, and I am glad to see you working on a new map compatible with CS2! It’s incredible to witness your growth and versatility. I’m looking forward to the outcome of this masterpiece!

I have been travelling across the sea for many years now. Driven by the one statement that once spurred me on, the one statement that set everything in motion: "My treasure?, you can have it, Find it! I left everything this world has to offer there!" And that was the One Piece and it lies somewhere on the Grand Line.

After the great pirate era began, I too ventured out onto the seas to find the great treasure of the world of Gol D. Roger. I searched everywhere, I crossed the Red Line to the new world. I fought against the wildest pirates until I was eventually appointed one of the four emperors - no one could escape my earthquake fruit, Harharhar.

And after I finally had all the poneglyphs together, the One Piece was revealed to me: Monastero - the greatest treasure in world history. With this, I can now finally go into my long-awaited retirement and find peace - thank you z0ro4rk, you are my hero.

I remember when I was 6 years old. It was a long time ago. My mother said to me: "You'll never amount to anything, you're a good-for-nothing." Deeply affected by this statement, I searched for years for a way to give my life meaning again - but to no avail. But on August 5th, the time had finally come - an angelic veil in my Steam DMs informed me: Monastero was finally finished.

I don't think I've ever been happier in my life. This map is so much more than just a custom map. It's a tribute to my childhood. A promise that everything will finally be OK. Thank you z0ro4rk for giving me the happiness I've been looking for for so long by creating this beauty of a map.
