Love this mod but always wanted to use it with his other 'Jump' mod and leaping into the safety of my castle. Probably not feasible or would require a teleportation script idk. Hope this gets updated for 42 - great mod.

Goose 26 nov. 2024 la 19:36
@elusive crawfish
we wouldn't've even noticed it unless you pointed it out, which tells me that it's intentional.
Elusive Crawfish 26 nov. 2024 la 2:59
do you think it would be possible to add a sandbox setting that effects how fast the moats fill up? (ignore my pfp please its funny i swear)
Ashiel 17 nov. 2024 la 18:56
@Cap - I haven't tested it myself, but the description says it becomes normal water tiles, so at worst you could build floors boards over them and then dump dirt on the floorboards like in vanilla.
Cap 17 nov. 2024 la 14:48
can you fill these tiles back in with dirt? and/or convert it back to what the tile used to be?
Tchernobill  [autor] 7 nov. 2024 la 14:10
You can if you do not hide shores
Caramelo 7 nov. 2024 la 14:08
Is there any way to fish?
Goose 29 oct. 2024 la 10:35
@achuma.puma

yes, i did that once.
achuma.puma 29 oct. 2024 la 1:36
Can you use this on tiles that aren't adjacent to vanilla water tiles? Could I make an inland lake for instance?
Ornion 11 oct. 2024 la 23:11
If you can't wait for the motes to fill (single player, have to touch the grass/load game later):

Open: (z:\steamfolder\steamapps\workshop\content\108600\3209330253\mods\Moats\media\lua\server)

Open: SMoatsFlooding.lua

Find line: data.waterAmount = math.min(data.waterMax, data.waterAmount + 1 * RainCollectorBarrel.waterScale)
Change to: data.waterAmount = math.min(data.waterMax, data.waterAmount + [number goes here e.g. 20] * RainCollectorBarrel.waterScale)

You will have to reload the script (reload game).
Tchernobill  [autor] 9 oct. 2024 la 9:44
it already does
cosmokramer 9 oct. 2024 la 9:37
I like the idea, but could you make it so the graves dug by the river fill up faster? That way it would feel more realistic...
GAT-A 29 sept. 2024 la 16:32
@Tchernobil yeah, might be something weird in the server settings too. I can send my mod list over if that helps you
Tchernobill  [autor] 29 sept. 2024 la 6:08
@GAT-A & yashoku.shade I do not get that problem. I suppose this is related to some mod incompatibility.
GAT-A 27 sept. 2024 la 22:55
is there anyway you can make moats fill up faster? Or fix the bug @yashoku.shade mentioned.

This mod is pretty busted otherwise.
yashoku.shade 13 sept. 2024 la 10:25
I think I found a bug. Every time I exit the game before the moat fills - upon reload - it will NEVER fill. I have to fill it back up or create a wooden floor and dig another fresh moat. Leaving the game before the moat fills is a mistake and not sure why.
plamenovnevyan 5 sept. 2024 la 12:48
Please consider adding a movable bridge similar to medieval castles, where with ropes attached to a gate behind the moat, bridge can be lifted or lowered
TJPinkerton 24 aug. 2024 la 20:46
@Killa you should get permission and upload it so others can use it.
wassupbeijingge 13 aug. 2024 la 15:39
alright i've used this mod, its really a great mod imo.
but for me it has one big issue its really easy to dig those moats it should take significantly longer to digging those that is why i've played with the mods numbers on my end to make the duration of digging longer
Goose 4 aug. 2024 la 21:36
@wildfire
yes, you can fish out of them as long as you disable "hide shores" in the sandbox menu.
WildFire 4 aug. 2024 la 7:43
Can dig moat to a size big enough to fish?
可疑的火星人 22 iul. 2024 la 4:22
I noticed that digging a moat won’t fill it up if the bucket isn’t full, perhaps because the moat stops collecting rainwater once the bucket is full.
Blessed Mother 8 iul. 2024 la 15:27
Something is wrong with the water spreading. I dug some moats a few weeks ago in-game and not all of the water spread for some reason.

Goose 7 iul. 2024 la 21:04
@gobiasthegreat
not that i know of.
gobiasthegreat 7 iul. 2024 la 14:16
Is there a way to remove moats before they're filled? I was digging a moat around my base and i missed a tile
Hechicer 4 iul. 2024 la 11:30
@Tchernobill i think i bugged , i do 2 empty moads together and never filled , i do 1 alone and work , maybe together with only rain dont work? Or just bad luck :'v
Tchernobill  [autor] 29 iun. 2024 la 10:03
@Highlandman you can use vanilla carpentry floor.
@Hechicer unless you are unlucky on the rain, it should fill faster.
Highlandman 29 iun. 2024 la 9:54
Would you consider a drawbridge addon for the moat?
Tchernobill  [autor] 28 iun. 2024 la 7:50
@Lazarus it should fill from every water tile (depends if the modded tile has the water flag)
Lazarus 28 iun. 2024 la 7:29
do you know if this works with modded in water tiles? We have Ivy Lake on our server and someone built a moat at one of the lakes but it only seems to fill with rain. We're over a month in at this point and he barely has half the moat filled with water despite it touching water tiles on the ends
Goose 27 iun. 2024 la 21:08
@hechicer, you can see in the video that it takes a really long time for it to fill.
Hechicer 27 iun. 2024 la 21:02
the rain work? i wait 1 week or more and nothing
Blessed Mother 21 iun. 2024 la 20:37
No. Also, how do we rotate the moat's digging graphic?
Goose 21 iun. 2024 la 20:16
wait what? you can't dig burnt land?
Blessed Mother 21 iun. 2024 la 18:26
Very cool! Just a suggestion: add a small endurance and fatigue loss when digging, because in reality digging a moat would be some serious manual labor and would be exhausting. Also, if there is burned land, a moat cannot be built on it.
Goose 15 iun. 2024 la 11:32
i dug a lake instead of a canal.
now i'm waiting for a thunderstorm to happen because it's winter and hasn't rained for like a million years.
