This might be too much to ask but I'm asking anyway. Would you consider making a 2x2 or 4x4 (or both?) variant of this mod? I have a build that would be perfect to slip this into but it's not a good fit because I need something that's an even width and height. 2x2x3 would be ideal but I can work with any length. Anyway, just a thought.

hey its me again so i figured out why it wasent working right for me finally came back to space engineers again and turns out it was sli causing the issue once disabled everything works fine

Doesnt work for me for some reason, My game doesnt reconizes the laser as weapon system so I cant toggle shot or anything

i have the same issue with laser isn't detecting as weapon. Weaponcore is working for weapon from other weapon mods
ist seems the whole collections have the same issue for me

Sounds like weaponcore isn’t in the world or is crashing for some reason

I don't know why but it ain't working, the blocks aren't being detected as guns, and there's no option to shoot

Distance is gonna be tied to range and also just SE. on dedicated servers you can increase the sync/render distance. For the charge up effect you would need to edit the particle file for it. It is somewhat complicated and can't help you much with that bit as I use a custom plugin to make editing it ingame easier rather then trying to do with within the actual file.

Usually around line 400 you will find "Lines = new LineDef" and under their you will find Color and rgb

I was able to change the weapon max range, but there’s three things I couldn’t figure out how to change: the laser color itself, the charge-up color, and how far I can see the laser itself. I checked the ammo.cs file from the workshop folder, but couldn’t see an rgb line.

Would you be able to give me the exact lines and file locations I’d need to change to make the laser charge-up and laser itself red and make the laser itself be visible for a longer distance?

Also, if I want the laser to do explosive damage on top of its base damage, how can I add that and what values should I use to make it balanced considering the charge-up time and cooldown time?

It uses the Keen emissive texture. Not sure if that is something you can really change without causing other issues. Otherwise you would need the model itself and a new texture

Is there also a setting line in the mod files to change the neon green segments to a different color or would that have to be done by editing the textures?

near the bottom you will find a rgb for Lines which is what sets the color

What line would I have to edit in the ammo.cs file to make the beam go from the default purple to a red beam?

I was able to increase the range, but have no idea how to change the color.

It would have to be the files. There is no ingame editor/slider. The ammo setting would be in the ammo.cs file

Is it possible to increase the max range in a settings file? I wanted to deisgn an orbital strike station with this, but 5km is a little short for that

just as a quick test i made a fresh world with no other mods then WC and this super laser and no fix as well just these thin white lightning bolts in each individual sections that never connect with the next section but the laser that fires is perfectly fine and connected also sorry for long wait for response spent that whole day trying various things to try to get it to work then going to my job i think ima try this on my other gaming pc (i have multiple pcs for the games i play as some setups dont do as well as another can for old vs newer games this is on my older gaming pc running 2 1080tis in sli on windows 10 with a 9900ks and ddr4 ram my newer gaming pc for all the new games runs a rtx 4080 with ddr5 and i9 13900ks cpu on windows 11 (older gaming pc for these older games is stuck on 10 due to the mobo not having a feature 11 needs ) )

ive even tried mod placement in mod manager putting it right between weapon core and animation then under animation then above both animation and weapon core

yes i did i made sure everything was in a group including the upgrade modules made sure i had enough power and i think its a game issue idk ive tried to reinstall se still no luck playing with settings in game i managed to get it to do something in the charge up animation before firing now its just a flickering white lightning style bolt thats separated in each section then fires and i cant figure it out

hello sorry to bother im having a issue with animations of the weapon i can see the purple laser it fires out but cant see the charge up or anything only the purple laser im new to SE so it might be a graphics thing idk

I don't have a way to add a color adjuster slider or anything. Id have to make a new ammo type for every color someone wanted which I am not going to do. But fill free to edit the file to your liking. The electric effect is more complicated and to do it in a performance friendly way requires you to make your own custom tracer/trail textures which is beyond my skills

It’s not possible within wc. It’s just weapon stacking. There is a framework that came out that makes it possible tho I think. Called assembly something

Do all blocks project their own laser and simply all fire at once to add their damage together? Or do they actually interact with each other? Is that only possible with weaponcore? I've started trying to make my own weapon mod, and I want to know if this kind of thing would be possible for non-laser weapons without using weaponcore.

I have fixed the issue now just an error on my end, was subscribed to your weapon pack and this at the same time (subbed before this was added to your weapon pack) again not sure why my single player world had no issues with it but eh it works now.

Sorry to bother you but I seem to be having Issues when using these on a dedicated server but not in single player, both have all the same mods and fresh start ect.
as for the error it says ''CoreSystems hard crashed during block int, shutting down'' seems to be all laser blocks causing this and after a little investigation possibly a memory leak.
unsure why it only happens on dedicated server.
