Unfortunately I have no real solution other than updating the mod with the latest version of the Save Manager I have on hand

The mod constantly gives an error, the same one that other pepole commented, even when the mod is alone by itself and i have no other mods installed, it still gives the error. It makes the game lag a ton after a few minutes and I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling but it does not help. I'm not very good at these type of things so i don't really know what to show from the error message, but I will try and do my best if you tell me what to do

Thats. Odd. There's very little room for why that would be the case so I'd have to work closer with you to get some explanation on why that's happening at all. If you're able to replicate it and give some more context (when it happened, what mods you have, etc) then I could look further into it. Otherwise, I can't do much with the error itself.

Do you have the latest version? I remember before the update from a few days ago there was an issue with the save manager that happened if you tried to enter a continued run, but that line in the code right now just leads to the detectLuamod function. That error doesn't really tell me anything else. The main.lua file should say "VERSION 1.2.1" at the top

... What? I was literally testing this earlier. I'm in the run, with the mod installed. Maybe something to do with it being installed last or something? I am confused, why is it working now and not before? This doesn't make sense to me. I suppose never mind then. I don't know what changed that makes it work now.

Okay, the mod on its own doesn't cause the frames to drop to 0-1. I wonder which mod collides with it.

In Documents > My Games > Binding of Isaac Repentance > options.ini > EnableDebugConsole=1. If you're using REPENTOGON, this should be enabled by default. Press the ~ key (button right below esc) to open the console in-game. And can you make sure if you disable all of your other mods and leave just this one enabled, if it still has FPS issues?

I do have other mods installed, but your mod wasn't an issue ever until like a few weeks ago. I couldn't be bothered to find out what the issue was until lately. I uninstalled all my mods and then installed them again one by one. When I installed yours and went into a run again, that's when my FPS dropped to 0 or 1 again.

My mod can't make it THAT bad. Do you have any other mods installed? Is the console being spammed with errors? If it was this obvious the mod was causing these issues to 47k people I would've fixed it long ago.

Can't even go into a run anymore, it makes me have 0-1 FPS, never gets better, I ain't waiting an hour to find out if it will get better overtime. Please fix.

if they reported frame drops I'm sure they would've by now. I would try and see how your frames look with the mod enabled (and no others) and with your usual mods enabled (without the api + port pack)

i keep on playing new runs and it keeps on frame dropping and the only error repentagon is giving me an external item description error and the same error as you guys, also is the issue with you guys frames being really low and spiking down?

Did the both of you continue a run after the update or simply start a new one? I looked at the code and the only instance in which hourglassBackup would be nil is if you continued a run before any save data has been created.

Big update coming soon! Sorta!!! It doesn't introduce anything new, but the code is being completely overhauled and a million times more optimized. I did really good for my first attempt at solving the "Unique Item" issue many mods had at the time, but I'm not revisiting the code after two more years of experience under my belt. Wiki will be overhauled at some point after the update.

This'll also come with a better save manager that I've built upon from catinsurance's IsaacSaveManager, so no more issues related to save data.

that would be a bit difficult. The reason why only one png is accepted is because the library uses ItemConfig:ReplaceCostumeSprite(), which is bugged and replaces all layers with the same png instead of the specified layer. As such, the library does not support it. Your best option would be creating a costumeSuffix folder for vanilla/modded characters that have one and/or use the UniqueItemsAPI.AddItemModifier to add custom costumes.

You can insert any costume ID into the "NullCostume" parameter for adding a Unique Item, including NullItem IDs.
