@Einherjar That is a good suggestion, in fact I just uploaded a version bump to 4.0 including that change, for those that prefer the previous look, it is still there in the auxiliary folder within the mod's files.

Is there possibly a version without the galaxy at the bottom? It's kind of distracting when I look down at the Map and I can't see the playable galaxy anymore.

@Maschinenmensch Absolutely, is just a graphical change, don't worry about the game version (I've forgot to update the version number).

Woah, I've been modding Stellaris for a while, but this is definitely the prettiest Background I've seen yet. Can this be added midgame? I'd think so, right?

What a neat idea!

Background revision!

- Increased depth of field.
- More defined black and softer white.
- The size and luminosity of the objects make more sense.
- To avoid confusion, the player view is less crowded.
- Noise reduction.

I'm pleased with the end result; I'm also aware that not many folks look for galaxy backgrounds, but for those who do, I'll keep sharing this mod. Enjoy.

Ah, I see, thank you for the constructive feedback and yea... We are kinda in the same boat, I'm by no means a gfx pro I just do this for fun but I learned a little bit from someone, there is a few things that I can try like noise reduction filters, blur and sharpen stuff. I'll have to play it by ear, nonetheless, thanks for passing by to check out my mod!

It's, for lack of a better word, grainy. It looks like a photo, not like 'space'. Things like Immersive Beautiful Stellaris edits the Hubble stuff to get rid of it, or at least does a better job of hiding it. I don't know *how* they do it, or what needs to be done.

Hmm what would you do? I already made it darker and added almost seamless transitions in a cubic skybox for someting that fits better in a sphere

Without editing all of the deep field stuff looks goofy in fame.
