In case anyone else is having the same problem:
For the sandbox configs to show, you have to have the mod enabled both for the server and in your mod browser.

@coolsea If you're hosting in-game, you have to enable mods at the main menu for their sandbox options to show up. Blame the devs :P

Hey, I'm trying to make a server (hosted in game) with this mod on it, but i'm not able to find the config files anywhere, not in game or inside my SandboxVars. Can you help?

@Fishywillow that sounds pretty scary! Can you give me more info? I would need to know your PZ version number, solo / multiplayer (dedicated or hosted in-game?), do you have other mods enabled?

Changing the population to high made damn near most of the zombies sprinters on a new save. Horrified me when a car alarm went off

If you have miscalculated speed or durability instead of deleting that save... You can download Change Sandbox Options, enable it on the save and change those numbers in game, quit and reload the game

If "Random Zombies" doesn't show up in your server settings, that means you don't have the mod enabled in your own mod settings.

Is it possible to add customizable zombie speed?
Like in "Zambies"?

I tried to play with it, but crawler stun lock makes this mod completely broken.

If you manage to reproduce the bug in debug mode (-debug in Steam launch options), please refer to the "I am not seeing the exact number of sprinters I configured" section the FAQ in the mod description and send me the 5 files generated while the bug was happening.

@jorge what is your Project Zomboid version? Are you playing singleplayer, in-game hosted multiplayer (are you the host?) or dedicated multiplayer? Does it also happen in a new game with only this mod enabled?

First of all, great mod. But, unfortunately, I keep having this issue (related before by some people) where I start a new game and everything runs fine with the settings, but then, after a couple minutes, every zombie chasing me is a sprinter. I would like to know what can be done to correct this. Thanks in advance.

@Don not a dumb question, it works. You can safely enable/disable this mod in an existing save.

@gg4AJ.wav it always overwrites speed, and only overwrites toughness and cognition if you've set them to non-default values in the Random Zombies settings (for backwards-compatibility reasons). Nothing else.

I really like this mod to add variety to the speed of a horde.

But I am curious, does the mod override what transmission setting you have on zombie lore?

As in, will it always override transmission settings to default blood+saliva?

@Artic Chila I added facilities for other mods to disable/enable Random Zombies at dusk/dawn, the Night Sprinters mod did it that way. That would be the easiest/cleanest solution imo

I posted also in the other mod but I'd like compability with the mod Sprinter's night :) I tried putting Sprinter's night after this mod in load order but they won't sprint at night, I think this mod overrides the sprinter mod

Everything is working fine for me. I'll need more info, like PZ version number and a screenshot of your Random Zombies settings. If you're experiencing this issue, please try to recreate the issue in a new game with ONLY this mod enabled.

I noticed in build 42 of this mod there were added screams of runners, but sometimes for some reason they do not work or some runners just do not scream

@Torres the mod should tell you that your "health" distribution is wrong with the following message in-game: Fragile, NormalTough and Tough do not add up to 100.

Since there's a config error, it will use the default config, which has 5% sprinters. The fact that you're seeing 100% sprinters makes me think that there's more going on, like another mod doing something.

@1unjaimedel83 RZ will ignore and overwrite your vanilla sandbox options for speed, health and cognition. Zomboids will be still be affected by vanilla sandbox options for sight, hearing and memory. Hope that clears it up, enjoy!

Tried this mod with schreeching sprinters and it has been scary fun! One question: Will the vanilla Zombie Lore settings for sight, hearing, memory and cognition/navigation
still affect zomboids senses?? Not sure if FAQ section refers to RZ sandbox options or vanilla's.

@Aang741 you might have the vanilla sandbox option for Cognition set to Random. This mod will not do anything if your smart% is 0

@Cuguar are you running it through the Host option in-game? You can try enabling the mod at the main menu. This mod just uses the config facilities provided by the game so your issue is not specific to this mod

@ItsOklmAMedic this mod does not change audio, but I heard sprinter zombies got new sound effects in B42. Nothing as intense as you describe tho

It looks like whenever I add "random zombies" on server modlist it's removed while server is loading.

So basically while I add the mod and save settings and go into server.lua I see that "random zombies" is added

Then while I start server this part is ereased from server config. What can cause this issue, have you seen anything similar @belette ?

Doesn't look like a mod compatibility - I've started fresh server to only test this and mod was removed from server config while server started.

I have an issue where some zombies do a really loud scream, to the point it actually hurts my ears. I have to play at 9% volume to not get a bursted ear drum. I have no clue what mod is causing this, and I do not have the Shrieker mod. Anyone else run into his issue that can help me? My best guess is its either night sprinter or random zombies

I've tried to use this mod on my server but for some reason after I launch it looks like the game always reset every change I'm doing in config and looks like mod not working properly (I saw 0 runner in whole town). It looks like mod taking confing from basic game instead of mod.

Whenever I close server and go back to config everything related to random zombies config reset to default.

Is there any way to fix it?

Ah I see, curious about the bug fixes and perf improvements now - FOMO kicking in hahah
Seems to be working OK though, I guess perhaps it also might not have full Bandits mod capability like yours. I wish the developers would add the full suite of customization to zombies like these mods. Hourly distinction, sprinter control, event/weather control, etc... Just natively.

And I get what you mean re: feature creep. Does make sense, especially if say X mod does 3 features, but the 3rd one "simply", thus causing conflict with one that does the 3rd option very well.

@marshmallow justice the other mod is based on an older version of this mod, so it is probably missing a couple of bugfixes, perf improvements and B42 compatibility (for now). That being said, when a mod works fine, it's common that it won't be updated for a while. Regarding adjusting the speed of sprinters, I feel like it's orthogonal enough to this mod, even if related, that I would rather have another mod take care of it. Avoiding feature creep is what lets a mod survive through the years / major updates of Project Zomboid
