Maybe they had already been erased and displaying in the barracks/with the print command was a fluke? Who knows
Thanks for the advice
Some people say Mod Jam messes with the cleaner, but I can't find anything referencing it anywhere in the configs
The LWotC built-in version of this had an issue where it would remove MOCX units, but I'm 99% certain that has also been patched/fixed from LWotC 1.1 onwards ..
That's right.
I think it takes the load of the game engine the most since I'm running 12700k + RTX 3090 all overclocked.
Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I don't think my specs are the issue as I run the game at max settings and a steady 60 so long as I make sure to relaunch on mission start. It seems more like a caching problem with the game itself, like things are being kept in memory for longer than they need to be; playing consecutive missions makes the game chug progressively worse as though it's loading in more and more levels at once. Whatever the case, it's a minor inconvenience because it only takes a minute or two to reload; I was just curious to see if this mod addresses or explains the issue. I'll check out your links - thanks!

Per Firaxis:
""Hitting the key, through a rube-goldberg-esque series of events, forces all outstanding load requests to be filled immediately in a single frame."
I'm not aware if this still works in WOTC, though.
When I ran this on a pretty late game save it removed a similar number of gamestates to what's in the Description. Like marshmallow justice, though, I didn't notice any improvement in load times between strategy and tactical. It could well have shaved seconds off those load times but it just takes such a while I don't notice.
So, whilst I don't experience what you do I don't expect this mod will help significantly. If your PC is that far way from the minimum specs you need to restart so often I doubt any mod could.
I'd say cut down on cosmetic mods and voice packs and look at PCWinTech's CleanMem [www.pcwintech.com]. This Highlander issue could be informative:
https://github.com/X2CommunityCore/X2WOTCCommunityHighlander/issues/1060
Looking through the ini it looks like it clears out character templates on tactical maps, so I'm guessing the game really does cache everything in tactical maps even after the mission's over. I imagine it'll have a bigger difference if you're using larger squads and pods.
Well, I added it to a March 2036 campaign / second year of a heavily modded LWOTC Mod-Jam and didn't notice anything specifically broken/missing (yet), nor anything improved performance or lag wise. But can't hurt to keep it installed!
Unsure what 'units' are being removed and what specific areas to watch for improvements in though.
