I am not using the classic guards and ties pack, I'm just using the regular BMCE with this mod and classic headcrabs. Also I just noticed that the construction worker zombie is missing textures.

@dude guy man marine doom The mod works. I'm a giant dumbass that didn't understand how .vpk files got read by the game fully, nor all my options for trying to troubleshoot. I had to install it manually via extracting the .vpk contents with GFScape and creating a custom/mods folder to put them in, but after that? Worked fine. Can change the title back now.

@thaddeus i do have the time, it's just i don't feel like doing it, but yeah what i did was simply just decompiled the zombie models, and i did some simple .qc file editing and replacing .smd files with headcrab ones from classic headcrab addon

How would someone go about updating it if that were the problem, anyhow? If you don't have the time, if it doesn't require much *too* technical, like maybe updating pathways/texture names or _dir alterations, I could maybe make an attempt. Though honestly, I'm just as tempted to pay you for the time it'd take, if that'd sway you. This is like the one thing about my modding setup that bums me out, the variants not working with classic crab.

Basically, all zombies that would be BMCE variants show up as Scientist zombies without a headcrab on them. It only shows up if it gets knocked off as it dies.

Looking at the changelog it doesn't *seem* like it would be anything that affects the zombies? Actually, *should* I be getting scientist zombies without the headcrab in place of the variants? It's been like that across 3 computers now, but I don't know if that's atypical or not. Other people here were talking about textures just not loading or things like that.

@dude guy man marine doom I'm just getting the same headcrabless scientists in place of BMCE variants as I've always gotten. Even putting it in a 'custom-load-last' folder and mounting that via gameinfo after custom. I know BMCE updated on New Year's Eve. Could that have anything to do with it?

Where should this go in the load order? As far as I know it reads custom alphabetically, and leaving it at 01a or whatever it doesn't seem to work.

This mod doesn't seem to work? I've put both 0A_Classic_Headcrab_2022_BMCE.vpk and 0A_BMCE_Classic_Headcrab_Zombies.vpk but I only get the normal scientist and guard zombies instead of the BMCE zombies.

It's weird I was able to use this today with BMCER it all of a sudden began to spaz out when I was at the guard where you get the shotgun early in office complex.

yo new bmce update broke this mod they updated a lot of the textures so now most zombies are purple and black textures because your mods trying to call the old texture so you may wanna update this with the new content.

well, if you can make something like this but with the "Half-Life 1 Classic Headcrab" (and preferably with the BMCE - Classic Guard and Ties), do you think steam points are enough motivation?
