All Custom Empires

When I was testing it on saturday I couldn't get any custom empires set to maybe to spawn (even with no mods), it was probably a bug with that specific version of stellaris, I haven't had time to test since then, but I imagine it should work assuming paradox has fixed the core issue

Does this need an update to 4.0?
Nidswarm  [author] 19 Oct, 2024 @ 11:51am
No problem!
Symposia630 18 Oct, 2024 @ 3:41pm
So yes it does look like that species was the one I set with the Lost Colony origin, I will keep playing and hopefully the rest of the species are the correct empires. Thanks!
Nidswarm  [author] 16 Oct, 2024 @ 8:42pm
Was the empire you created a lost colony?

I can't think of a way for it to make an empire with your species but not empire if it wasn't the origin of lost colony...
Symposia630 15 Oct, 2024 @ 11:58am
I'm using this mod and the Stop Pre-scripted Empires mod. Then I created a bunch of empires. The first empire I came across was one of the species I had "created" but it was a random empire. Like I created an oligarchic empire with whatever traits and then it used that species name but made it a random dictatorial empire with random traits. I thought that it was going to use the actual empires I had created, was I mistaken?
MechaShadowV2 6 Oct, 2024 @ 2:45am
@Regnion, yeah, ive noticed that as well. though it seems like most of them are mine now that i fixed the solar system to random, some empires that i didnt make still spawn.
Nidswarm  [author] 29 Jul, 2024 @ 5:17pm
Have you tried the troubleshooting methods in the description?
Regnion 27 Jul, 2024 @ 6:33pm
Doesn't seem to work, random AI empires are replacing one of my custom empires. Only 8 customs will appear, 9th set to spawn is always AI. Increase to 10 and I get 8 custom, 2 AI randos.

oki thank youuu
Nidswarm  [author] 22 Jun, 2024 @ 11:13pm
I wouldn't image that there is, but I have them in: All custom, Remove Paradox, No Unique
Fran 17 Jun, 2024 @ 3:21am
Hmmm is there a Loadorder i need to make your three mods? Cause i have 30+ Custom factions and if i set the slider to 30 Ai empires it still gives me around 1/3 of random empires.

I made sure that all of them have a random generated starting system (not like sol or so).
They also have different portraits and names but still somehow it happens :(
Nidswarm  [author] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 7:16pm
Also do multiple of your empires use the same portrait? I'm doing some testing and I think you can't generate two species with the same portrait from the list of your empires
Nidswarm  [author] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 6:52pm
Also is it consistent which of yours it spawns, or not?
Nidswarm  [author] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 6:49pm
(as a ratio)
Nidswarm  [author] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 6:49pm
Roughly how many of the empires spawned were yours?
hampter 9 Apr, 2024 @ 6:33pm
@Nidswarm I used your two mods and Military Enhancements 2.0, only used the random name generator for starting leaders, gave most random start system and one random trinary, all created by Prosperous Unification, and matched the number of empires I made (-1 because I was one of them) and the number of empires that existed
Nidswarm  [author] 9 Apr, 2024 @ 11:47am
I just made a test game, with only 3 mods, this mod, the one to remove the Paradox empires in the description, and a mod to allow multiple empires with "unique" origins (I'll shove that in the description soon), and it worked as expected

Do you have any other mods?
When you scroll to the bottom of the empire list are there empires down there? (below the ones you made)
Did you use the random name generator? (see description)
Have you set up your empires with set systems? (ie sol)
Are the extra empires created by an origin?
Have you asked for more empires than you made?
Baka Racker 9 Apr, 2024 @ 9:59am
It was working for me as of my previous post, Mar 10. That save file is fine, but I have not started a new game since then, so maybe something changed?
Nidswarm  [author] 8 Apr, 2024 @ 11:51pm
Ohh, weird, I've been super busy since the last update, I assumed it would still be working as it's fairly simplistic, not sure when but I'll try and get an update out soon
hampter 7 Apr, 2024 @ 9:34am
Addendum: Tested it, it apparently does not
hampter 6 Apr, 2024 @ 9:23pm
I know it says this was made for a previous version, but does it work on the current one?
Baka Racker 10 Mar, 2024 @ 12:43pm
@lemurs2 @The Furred Cheese Do the missing ones have duplicated origins? There are some origins that are restricted to one per game. The list of them on the Stellaris wiki indicates which ones are limited to one empire.
Grand Cheese Wedge 28 Oct, 2023 @ 9:22am
I had a similar issue where it seemed only half of the empires that spawned were actually custom. I tried setting up a map with almost all hostile empires (determined exterminators, fanatic purifiers) and only 2 that would be "allies", only half spawned as custom and the others were randomized.
Mallow, The Bunny 💗 6 Sep, 2023 @ 5:39am
What if you tried changing the number of Empires?

Does it still keep being exactly the half? That'd be intriguing.
lemurs2 5 Sep, 2023 @ 10:12pm
um, i do not know that one, have to try it out.
Nidswarm  [author] 5 Sep, 2023 @ 10:07pm
Is it the same 7 every time?
lemurs2 5 Sep, 2023 @ 8:54pm
I backspaced and retyped the empire names.
It does seem to be always 7 correct and 7 random empires.
Thanks for your response.
Mallow, The Bunny 💗 5 Sep, 2023 @ 6:08pm
I noticed that it works one game - the next one it doesn't.
To see if a game actually works as intended, I need to open the console and go through "play 1" until the last created faction. That takes away the surprise against whom you play, sadly.

So reloading works somehow to get the mod working completely, you just don't know if you're in a working game or not.

How I actually reproduce the games that don't work: No clue.

tl;dr: Mod works fine, Stellaris got hiccups.
Nidswarm  [author] 5 Sep, 2023 @ 5:32pm
Hmm, I installed the planetary diversity base mod, and ran it with just my two mods you mentioned, and from what I can see in that nothing should conflict with my mods, I have 2 questions for you:
1: does it always spawn in exactly 7 of your custom empires, or does that number fluctuate?
2: when setting the name for your custom empires did you just hit the random button and leave it at that?

2 causes problems because of something in the stellaris back end, it is easy to get around by just renaming your empire, even to the original name
lemurs2 4 Sep, 2023 @ 8:43am
Help please, I am using this and the mod you recommend for stopping Paradox empires from spawning.
I use UI overhaul, At war ship sections, a bunch of basic portrait mods and a bunch of basic ship sets.Cybrxkhans name lists, and Plaetary diversity.

I have no created empires which I do not have locked in for my game. I created 14 and have my game set to 14 AI. All are locked in. I start the game and ~7 are rando empires and about 7 are my created empires. I am not using Sol or Deneb, Common ground or anything like that.
What am I doing wrong? Load order? Thank you for any help any one can give.
Nidswarm  [author] 1 Aug, 2023 @ 9:11am
Great!
Mallow, The Bunny 💗 31 Jul, 2023 @ 11:58am
To save your work and reputation as a modder comes my extreme intelligence:

Looking through my playsets, I noticed that I missed to uninstall another mod fiddling with spawns.

It was me, not your mod, effing up. :D
Mallow, The Bunny 💗 30 Jul, 2023 @ 6:57am
Yeah, I force spawn all my Empires so as many of those as possible should spawn. No named systems. :o

I have some mods installed, but none that are about spawning "conditions" like this here.
Nidswarm  [author] 28 Jul, 2023 @ 9:32am
Do you have empires that are set to spawn into the game (they have the phoenix lit up)?
Are your empires set to spawn at a named system (Sol or Deneb in base game)? (There is a hard lock on these systems to only spawn once)
Do you have any other mods installed?
Mallow, The Bunny 💗 28 Jul, 2023 @ 2:34am
It seems to not work for me. Galaxy is full with boring, randomly generated Empires (most with the same background, even).
Flaps 22 Jun, 2023 @ 11:45pm
Alright thanks
Nidswarm  [author] 22 Jun, 2023 @ 10:57pm
I don't play with achievements, so I do not know, but from what I can see any non-graphical mod will break achievements, and there is no way to get around that
Flaps 22 Jun, 2023 @ 3:39pm
Anyway to make this mod achievement compatible?
Baka Racker 13 Apr, 2023 @ 5:42pm
@Frysk And thank you for your work discovering that!
Baka Racker 13 Apr, 2023 @ 5:42pm
Oh man, thank you for this mod and the link regarding custom names affecting spawns, I can FINALLY since game launch play with all custom empires!
Nidswarm  [author] 6 Feb, 2023 @ 9:01pm
yes, that's right, I should proofread my work...
forbiddenlake 4 Feb, 2023 @ 5:48am
Hi! Definitely going to try this in my next game.

When you write "If you request more empires exist than you have custom/prescripted empires available then it will spawn custom empires", do you mean "... it will spawn random empires" ?
Nidswarm  [author] 27 Dec, 2022 @ 5:21pm
Thanks, I'll update the description
Frysk 27 Dec, 2022 @ 5:12pm
Okay, after some slightly frustrating research, I think I found the solution. I suppose it's a measure to stop names from sounding the same to each other, but pretty much, when a name is generated by the game, it is stored in a way where it is split into parts, and given some instruction on how they are put back together. (Like "AofB") When generating the galaxy, it tried to limit the number of similar instructions by simply not loading the empires that overlapped.

However, when a name is inputted by the player, in the file it is given a flag where the instruction is ignored. The empires that I made my own names for happened to be the ones to appear frequently, while the ones with automatic names were less frequent.

I found the information and fix at the link below, hopefully others can find it useful:

Nidswarm  [author] 27 Dec, 2022 @ 1:22pm
Hmm, that's strange, I'll look into it in a bit, but I want to double check you have both this mod and the one that stops prescripted empires (linked in the description), also have any of the mods you installed brought in any prescripted empires themselves (if you scroll down to the bottom of the empires list when making an empire there should only be The Unused Federation (or whatever I called it))

Also you said there are 13 empires spawning, is that 13 of your empires are 16 others, or 13 total, some of which are yours, some are other empires
Frysk 27 Dec, 2022 @ 7:29am
(Continued from previous)

Of course, I kept track of the origins and starting systems for all of my custom empires. As far as I can tell, there wasn't a connection between how often the empires were spawned in and the aforementioned settings. For example, one of my empires has the Prosperous origin and Random starting system but has never appeared in any of my games. However, some of the ones that spawned commonly had special origins and systems, including one that also had a special neighboring system. Even then, some of the special origins and systems ones also never spawned, and one of the Prosperous/Random empires spawned in every game.

I have a few modded origins and systems and such, but I can't find any differences to the base game ones. All of the special systems occur only once in my customs, with random set for the others.

This is really bizarre, but maybe you have something to glean? Thank you so much for making the mod, it does seem to be helping though!
Frysk 27 Dec, 2022 @ 7:28am
Hi! I'm having some strange issues with the mod, perhaps my analysis will help.

I currently have 29 custom empires set up, and they're all of course set to forced spawn. I decided to do some testing with them. Specifically, in case it's important, I created six galaxies with Huge size and 29 empires, with no advanced, fallen, or marauder empires.

Interestingly, each time I created a galaxy, only exactly 13 of my empires would show up each time. However, the set of 13 would be different every generation. Out of my custom empires, 10 of them appeared in every game, but the other 3 would be a seemingly random selection from the rest, with some being a bit more likely than others. As well, the other empires that were generated in the galaxy were the same each time. (I'm not sure if they were prescripted ones that got past your other mod or if something was weird with the random generation seed?)

(Continued in next comment)
Nidswarm  [author] 4 Nov, 2022 @ 12:46pm
What this mod does is it removes the possibility for a random empire to spawn if the game can spawn a custom/prescripted empire, as you noted the Deneb and Sol systems are locked to only spawn once no matter how many empires you have set to them

I do not believe the name of this mod is wrong as if it is possible for the game to spawn only custom empire it will do so, but there are a few things (might just be the sol/deneb systems) that stop empires from spawning even if they are set to force spawn, similarly if you have 4 custom empires and request 10 empires to spawn then 6 random empires will spawn

I will update the description of the mod, as that is an important thing to note, I had forgotten I hadn't already included it

Sorry for the confusion
Shade11 4 Nov, 2022 @ 11:04am
@Nidswarm So, well
I did some research and found that game won't spawn custom empires (even with force spawn checked) that doubles the same solar system eg. two empires have the same Daneb system. This is by Pardox script design.
I think that name All Custom Empires is wrong, because it implies that it will force the game to spawn custom empires only, but we find out that the game can spawn pre-scribed empires also.

But i tested it and it spawned custom and the pre-scribed empires iow. according to description so looks good:steamthumbsup: Sry for inconvinience
