Question about local split-screen does both players have their own horde, or does only player 1 have it?

Would it be possible to have the horde spawn around your base instead of connected players? Right now it's easy to cheese as you can just go to a remote area on horde night, let them spawn, and then go home.

Do horde night zombies:
1. Work with Random Zombies {LINK REMOVED} e.g. - Can Horde Night spawn sprinters?
2. Do they always know where you are? If I spawn the horde in Louisville and drive to West Point, do they follow forever?

Forces you to reconsider your base in SP, a larger sprawling compound is difficult to defend effectively. I recommend you backup your save before the 1st event happens to test if they can spawn inside your base though, they didn't spawn inside any buildings but the greater fenced in region was free game if it was out of sight!

What’s the best distance to set for their spawns? I’d like to have them start gathering and attacking the walls of the base almost immediately but also see them coming from a relative distance

In Russian, question marks are included with the translation. I tried changing the mode's priority, but it doesn't work.

Hey Windfly! Just wanted to say your work on the Horde Night mod for Project Zomboid is absolutely amazing. You can really feel the creativity and attention to detail — it completely changed the game experience for me (and probably for a lot of others too)!

damn wtf my fps is horrible with this for some reason i have no idea why
i can go into lousville etc and run around and fight all those zombies, but when me and my mates were dealing with 200 zombie spawn set it dropped to like 1 fps

Wondering if the part about multiplayer 'newly spawned zombies past cap being deleted' would be fixed by No Mo Culling? Or are they different issues

I think it would be way cooler to have a chance to start zombie horde at random time (every ten mins cycle check).
1. Do you think it's hard to implement? (if yes, why?)
2. If you don't want to implement it, can I do it? Like fork or github pull request?

Hey hey guys i love this mod it gives my compounds a challange even after i cleared all zeds but could it be that sinds its been updated to B42 it makes my game crash i play the mod on build 41 and the game crashes only if i log in during horde night. I can give more info or dump the bug somewhere. Thanks for everything though the mod gave me tons of fun. :peace::ily:

Few ideas:
- Random horde chance, random horde size and random number of zombies added to next horde.
- Something like a Horde-Meter: An adjustable maximum amount like 100 and each day or whatever interval, it adds a set or random amount like 3 -15 to it, starting with 0. When max amount is reached a horde is triggered. This will bring more variation and players will be more surprised by hordes if high values are added or they have to wait and delay other plans when low values are added.
The main reason I came here was because I was looking for something I vaguely remember to have already seen: A mod addon for Starving Zombies or Scent of Blood that triggers hordes when a set amount of bodies or smell are stacked it triggers a horde.

Can you add more options for hordes? It would be nice if you could change the horde spawn to happen many times a day (set how many hours in between hordes instead of days) for games with longer day hours. Also for the random horde can it be set to have multiple random hordes a day? (Id set hordes to a lower amount to make up for more hordes)

We are playing MP, however many days passed but it seems no horde is coming, also I cannot see it on the advanced zombie options for the settings.

@twollman, @zalzala koh, idk if it's relevant, but it says the number selected is the size of each horde spawned per player on at the time, so 4 with a size setting of 50 would be 200, 3 with 100 would be 300, etc

Suggestion: You should add the tag "Build 42" to your mod since you support it. makes it easier to be found. (many just checkmark build 42 when they look for compatible mods)

Can anyone explain to me why when I had set how many zombies to spawn per horde night was set to 50 but horde night came by the time we finished collecting bodies there were about 900+ corpses?

Zombies have been spawning inside of our base, which has been completely sealed off with a parameter wall with no windows and only one gate that remains closed during the horde night.

Horde night crashed my server twice on the first horde night for your new B42 update . I Only have it set to 50 zeds on start then increments of 50. Im assuming they tried to spawn them and failed. I got the warning it was coming then boop crashed. Reloaded the world and it crashed again instantly. I can say i have no conflicting mods and that i have a fairly powerful pc so if you could take a look at your codes again that would be great.

You guys got this working again? Last I tried, the horde icon showed up on horde night, but the game was firing a bunch of errors and no zombies spawned.

Anyone know any good base defense mods right? There were some like Angry Turrets and Barricades Hurt Zombies but, those don't work now

@Spectre It is in the "Advanced Zombie Options".

Would suggest @Windfly specify that the sandbox options for it are included in the "Advanced Zombie Options" section of sandbox settings, since 90+% of mods the sandbox settings are linked to a section named after the mod, so it will save both players who are confused by this as well as you a bunch of hassle.

I would suggest adding it to this section: "Why do I not see the mod sandbox options when editing server setting?", since this section doesn't actually answer most people as to why they can't find the sandbox setting, since mods have taught them to look for a seperate section.

i cant seem to get the mod to work in both single player and multiplayer, this mod is the base of the challenge me and my friends are trying to set up and am hoping i could get a hand with getting it to work, even after editing the settings of the mod it still refuses to work

I am playing B42.
The mod was not working for my first runs. So I reinstalled it.
I set the start to 0 for test, and I got the icon on the top right indicating horde, the zombie sound and the character text.
However, no zombies appeared.
I was in the starter house. Am I doing something wrong? Will they not spawn close to starter house?

Do the random zombie settings apply to zombies that spawn on horde night ? if I set up that 50% of all zombies in the world are runners, on horde night, 50% of the zombies will be runners?

Sadly in this game there is no way to determined a tile is in a "closed off" area or not, it can only detect if it's indoor or not. And if you spawn a zombie more than 75~90 tiles away from the character it won't even load in at all, so most you can do it's make sure the 75 tiles around the player and the indoor area are safe.

[B41] Im a bit confused on the spawning...
I based my self on the Riverside school, I closed and barricaded the doors and windows on the side of the fenced side yet the zombies still spawned inside the yard. I even made extra walls and doors inside the school in case I got overrun.

That huge yard should be considered "closed" yet the zombies still spawned there. Are spawns only blocked "indoors" ie closed in area, has roof and floors?
