Dude, thanks, this mod is exactly what I needed:Gifting:

If I could figure out how to disable auto-expansion for sectors at game start, that might solve a majority of issues.
Lynock 19 mai la 6:57
Is it possible to remove systems from a sector that is not the core?
Currently creating a new sector auto-expands to every system available, so the work-around is to leave the auto-expand button on for the core sector, and then you can "eat" parts of it with a new sector. Alas, making a mistake means you have to delete the sector and start from scratch...

Thanks. I know how to update the version number, I've just never gotten around to it. I'll do it now since I have free time. Thank you for your comment!

Invaluable mod in my playset - thanks so much for this.
Please change your supported version to the following -
supported_version="v4.0.*"
Now with this line, your mod will show up-to-date whenever Paradox releases update fixes.

Mod should be working for 4.0!
thorman123456789 12 mai la 21:41
Update to 4.0?
Musashi 14 mart. la 12:42
it doesnt work anymore. not sure why
makoaluveaux 17 febr. la 23:14
Turns out the systems i captured on the other side of a wormhole were not connected to the core system which is why this whole issue is happening.

I dont really want to play with sectors at all.
If this is due to the "auto expand sector" thing let me know.
If not and this issue could be patched that would be appreciated.
makoaluveaux 17 febr. la 22:52
In addition during my time of trying to fix this a bunch of systems got removed from the core sector and now i cant add them back.
makoaluveaux 17 febr. la 22:49
I had a pre ftl civ reach the stars, and we said no, now we have a planet we cant add to the main sector.

How do i fix this?
ItsChugg  [autor] 5 febr. la 18:05
You aren't able to AFAIK.
Kelven 3 febr. la 12:40
So the mod description says to disable sector auto-expansion. The only way I can see to do this is by editing a sector and clicking off the "Auto Expand Sector". But you can only do this once the sector has already been made, at which point it auto-adds all systems. How do I disable NEW sectors from auto-adding? I can't seem to find that option anywhere...
ItsChugg  [autor] 23 sept. 2024 la 12:20
You can disable the sector view. That's about it.
Geki 23 sept. 2024 la 9:58
I'm not asking if you can disable it, I was hoping you could give me some directions.
Geki 23 sept. 2024 la 9:57
So the rendering of the sector view is the problem? Can we disable it? I don't need it to render anything.
ItsChugg  [autor] 22 sept. 2024 la 14:41
@Geki That's generally an issue with the game's rendering. At a certain point it's hard to render many systems in a single sector due to how it's programmed. Having a good graphics card can help a little but it's still an issue regardless.
Imperator of Rome 20 sept. 2024 la 14:52
@Geki my guess would be the game just can't handle having that many systems in one sector.
Geki 18 sept. 2024 la 17:58
My game crashes with about 450-500 systems in my core sector. As soon as I add too many. Is this a bug with this mod?
ItsChugg  [autor] 20 mai 2024 la 19:14
I apologize, I was confused with what you were originally saying.

You're correct in that the distance between sector capitals need to be at least 5 jumps apart. That's hardcoded and unfortunately means I can't mod in another value.
Haze_Rider 20 mai 2024 la 16:01
Dear Chugg,
There is a "Min" limit of 5 sectors:
i can expand infinetly each of my sectors, but i can't create new sectors with "min" range of 5 jumps. I have chacked forums and it seems that "min sector range" is hardcoded to 5 jumps.

ItsChugg  [autor] 17 mai 2024 la 17:01
There is no jump limit with this mod. Make sure you're turning off auto-expansion for your sector(s).
Haze_Rider 17 mai 2024 la 8:18
Works with 3.12.2

But can you also remove the 5 jump limits?
It is really annoying that I cannot create a sector in less than 5 jumps
ItsChugg  [autor] 12 febr. 2024 la 16:10
Mod has been updated to the latest version of the game, and has had the mod name updated for clarity.
Imperator of Rome 12 dec. 2023 la 11:30
fuk
ItsChugg  [autor] 12 dec. 2023 la 3:58
Unfortunately, I don't think that's fixable.
Imperator of Rome 11 dec. 2023 la 12:28
Maybe an update will also do to fix the graphical glitch that causes sector borders to become all distorted once they reach a certain amount and size. As I'm experiencing in my current game.
ItsChugg  [autor] 10 dec. 2023 la 21:35
I think I might actually be able to do that! I need to update the mod for the numbering anyways, so that'll be an additional feature I can include.
Imperator of Rome 10 dec. 2023 la 10:19
Could you add a small update so that you can place sector capitals wherever? So that I'm not forced to have four jumps minimum between sector capitals, just so I can even make a sector?
ItsChugg  [autor] 17 sept. 2023 la 8:35
A lot of people seem to be confused, so I'll summarize. The mod is working as intended. Your core sector has a hyperlane distance of the integer limit, but for the sake of conversation, infinity. Additionally, in case of a break, I've made it so other sectors are also infinite.

The core sector does not seem to go through wormholes anymore, however other sectors still do. The issue is that since the core sector (which is a sector you can not delete) is infinite, you're stuck with the entire connected galaxy in one sector, and any non-connected systems in others.

If I can fix this, I'll patch an update as soon as I can, but I believe this is an issue only Paradox can resolve.
Knyghthawk 16 sept. 2023 la 9:48
It's not to infinity anymore. you have to build your colonies out and then it works except for the outside colonies then you have to add another Gov. the Mod could use an update to check into this. but it's still not bad as is, just have to plan more
Commander Star 12 sept. 2023 la 22:06
I realize that this works only on direct lanes but not through gateways and wormholes. I thought it covers the L systems but it didn't so just slamed another governer on it lol.
ItsChugg  [autor] 21 iul. 2023 la 15:56
It's possible, but I haven't tested it.
❤Кот✮девочка❤ 20 iul. 2023 la 8:55
Can AI use this as well?
ItsChugg  [autor] 26 iun. 2023 la 8:31
It should work. You might need to remove the system from another sector first.
Odoxon 26 iun. 2023 la 3:44
Lamentably, the game still doesn't allow me to increase the size of the sector. Perhaps it doesn't work on existing games?
ItsChugg  [autor] 25 iun. 2023 la 4:12
I'm glad it will be of use to you!
Odoxon 24 iun. 2023 la 15:42
Thank you for the clarification and the quick reply. I appreciate that you took the time to create this mod.
ItsChugg  [autor] 24 iun. 2023 la 15:40
That was an earlier comment before a major Stellaris update that changed how things work. Yes, you are able to expand both core and non-core seconds infinitely to your whims.
Odoxon 24 iun. 2023 la 15:35
Indeed, but in your other comment you said "this changes the files ever so slightly to make sectors other than your core sector have an infinite range" which made me wonder: Can I expand core sector too?
ItsChugg  [autor] 24 iun. 2023 la 15:26
This should be the mod for you then. You can make any size sector with this so you'll easily be able to expand your sector.
Odoxon 24 iun. 2023 la 15:25
I need a mod that allows me to to make my core sector bigger... I have a colony that is just one jump too far away...
Wintermist 15 mai 2023 la 20:21
Thanks ItsChugg, gonna swap over to this one now :D
ItsChugg  [autor] 15 mai 2023 la 15:08
Mod updated to 3.8. This changes the files ever so slightly to make sectors other than your core sector have an infinite range. Now, you can make sectors of any shape or size you'd like. I hope you all enjoy!
Wintermist 14 mai 2023 la 15:08
@Azzaciel Sure, but only did that when I wanted to create a new vassal. I actually found one now that seems to work around it though, so unless new problems arises, I guess the problem is finally solved :D
Azzaciel 13 mai 2023 la 10:42
@Wintermist Did you try the age-old sector manipulation trick of taking a settled planet in your future sector and deleting all your connecting star bases? Because that's how people create small new sectors to releases "System-state" vassals/federation members.

Even if you reconnect the system later, you should have 2 sectors now.
Wintermist 11 mai 2023 la 13:17
Awesome, I tried it as it was and couldn't get it to work proper. I got another one that was updated today that atleast let me build outwards more, dunno how small you can make them though. Either way, appreciation to you modders :D I'll give this one a go after you update it, if it does all those things it's gonna be perfect :D
ItsChugg  [autor] 11 mai 2023 la 11:52
I'll check the files of the game to see if I need to update the mod. It's entirely possible that I do and once done you'll find exactly what you're looking for.
Wintermist 10 mai 2023 la 19:13
I hope so, I was trying to make sectors that fit the clusters on the map, but yeah, it seems there are a minimum size and maximum size so end up rather horrible in certain scenarios.

I tried all manner of mods but just couldn't get anything working that way lol
ItsChugg  [autor] 10 mai 2023 la 19:10
That used to be a thing in the original versions of Stellaris. However, now it *may* be possible with the latest version of Stellaris because of the sector modification. You're able to change the sector shape so that may mean you're able to create multiple sectors. So, perhaps?
