mod.io is an alternative service Keen uses for Steam workshop that does not work on consoles. You should have some information on it in the game settings as you were supposed to accept it's license ingame (or not).

Awesome, the hills no longer have spike plates on them!
Ellanines 13 Nov, 2024 @ 4:42pm
Does this affect moons and astroids?

@Mindlessmrawesome Exactly what turned me away from this mod. Great idea, just too smooth to my liking
jbmgamerboy 20 Aug, 2024 @ 4:53pm
fyi the highest point on earth to the lowest point on earth is roughly 8 miles this means if i was to make a scale model of earth to fit in my hand it would be as smooth as a 8 ball from my pool table

The idea of this mod is to force planet makers to edit the voxel map instead of cheating and using the SurfaceDetail feature which ruins cliffs and hills completely. Besides, I don't really have the time anymore to add new features
Mindlessmrawesome 21 Jul, 2024 @ 7:27pm
Question, is there a chance of this mod ever coming out with a version that doesn't make the voxels perfectly smooth? I love the idea of smoother voxels to make rovers less totally worthless, but I feel like its TOO smooth with this mod, like it doesn't feel natural yk? No idea if this is even possible from a technical level but I figure I ought to ask
PotatoDude 27 Mar, 2024 @ 11:37pm
it doesnt let my friend join my game :/
Myth 22 Sep, 2023 @ 4:03pm
I'm not seeing this mod in my mods list when I subscribe... wtf
electrococaine 21 Sep, 2023 @ 8:36pm
Thank you for this mod. Been playing with it for a long while, forgot to enable it in the last playthrough and rovers immediately felt awful to drive

I would not have thought the "rough terrain" - it's less that and more like kaiju have been using the planets as scratching posts - was so easily changed. I'd prefer to reduce how drastic the detailing is over getting rid of it entirely, but this will do to make wheeled vehicles usable outside of just boring, mostly flat terrain.

Question i want to add this mod to my SE Server (hosted on gprotal) do i have to start a new world oder does it adjust the existing world?
Rev Elevenclaw 4 Jun, 2023 @ 9:00pm
@Azineum Yeah, the link is busted atm.

@avaness I have no idea what "have desync" means, but it sounds bad:(
avaness  [author] 4 Jun, 2023 @ 4:46pm
AzineumYT-Foxycyonix, Did you test this? I highly doubt mod.io is ever going to work because the client and server would have desync with the voxel shape.
Cyba 4 Jun, 2023 @ 3:53pm
revfelix11claw as the mod is in public domain I am managing the mod.io version of it. https://mod.io/g/spaceengineers/m/azineumsv (If there are issues with the link I am getting them resolved with the mod.io staff currently)
SiriusBlack 1 Jun, 2023 @ 11:04pm
This mod does not work under Linux and by extension Steam deck. Would you be able to look into this? I would love to be able to use this mod.
Thanks in advance

From FauxDrakeUltima;
"Is this possible to be added to mod.io for cross platform servers?"

+1 for this question.
avaness  [author] 3 May, 2023 @ 8:09pm
It works on existing saves
Alisak 3 May, 2023 @ 7:49pm
Hi, its needs to be on a new save? Or its works on existing ssve?
avaness  [author] 5 Apr, 2023 @ 7:49am
I can look into it
FauxDrakeUltima 4 Apr, 2023 @ 8:18am
Is this possible to be added to mod.io for cross platform servers? Some of my friends want to play SE but are unfortunate enough to not have PC's yet
Sonic 20 Feb, 2023 @ 12:06pm
Must have:steamthumbsup:
S Boogy 10 Feb, 2023 @ 12:00pm
Honestly, I love this mod. Its been a must have for all my scenarios thus far. Like so many others have said it actually makes rovers useful instead of flipping over all the time. So far I've yet to run into any issues I can trace to this mod but I typically place it towards the topmost mods loaded. Thanks avaness!
avaness  [author] 4 Feb, 2023 @ 6:41pm
This mod doesn't remove surface boulders or rocks, just smooths the terrain of steep hills and cliffs
Drikon 3 Feb, 2023 @ 11:12am
Does this mod remove all surface rock/ore? In the mod list order if I put this mod after a mod that adds surface rock-ore will it still remove those as well?
avaness  [author] 7 Jan, 2023 @ 12:58pm
Yes
ToxicSoul 6 Jan, 2023 @ 2:54pm
does this work in multiplayer dedicated servers?
BIV 16 Nov, 2022 @ 8:01am
This is a great addition to SE, I was for ever being stymied by those unmanageable rock formations, using this mod chancged all that and with my limited system I found it worked well and opened up so much more surface to drive on, Thanks mate.
Menos 5 Oct, 2022 @ 5:28am
Ty for this mod, this completely changed my SE experience as I now can actually drive around with a rover. :)
Edorenel 20 Sep, 2022 @ 3:48pm
@igotone, in-game at the main menu, you go to Load > click on the world you want to play < click on the button Edit Settings > click on the button Mods > move all mods from the left...over to the right panel. Return to Load menu and load the world. I hope that helps. :steamhappy:
igotone 28 Jul, 2022 @ 2:04pm
I subscribed and restarted game 3 times but still can't download or find it.
FireFox 24 Jul, 2022 @ 6:46pm
This mod actually makes Rovers useful.
howardxu23 20 Jun, 2022 @ 6:33am
works nicely for me :)
Rusted Droid 7 Mar, 2022 @ 8:50pm
I actually like to have nice planets not showing edits of simple small warhead hole be like crater of atom bomb.
I not get why KEEN do this, as it is quite performance impact show tiny holes on planet like craters.

I don't think this mod get the attention it deserves. It makes worlds so much more beautiful and driveable.
Acirno 9 Feb, 2022 @ 6:48am
How hard would it be to get a version that kills the craggs but still has some bumps for us offroaders?
Acirno 9 Feb, 2022 @ 6:47am
Craggs, no, sunday drive, yes.
Tech Priest 10 Jan, 2022 @ 8:15am
You pretty much do the same thing as well for servers, I had to do this to apply Real Orbits to a server map that I have existing already. However I use serverblend and you can find the Sbsb5 file way faster then with doing it on your own machine
Tech Priest 10 Jan, 2022 @ 8:12am
@Axel-of-Atheara I do know this is well pretty late after you made your posts but ill say it anyway. If the mod is not adding the new surface detail to an existing save/world you can always just regen the world its self which will then add it on (Or it should). All you would need to do is Delete the SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbsB5. You can find it by doing these steps. On windows Press The windows key + R and then in the box it brings up type Appdata and then confrim. After that its Roaming, Spaceengineers, Saves, *A bunch of numbers*, *Your World save name*, and then you will find it in there after scrolling a bit. When you do this and you load the world back up it will say the world is outdated etc or something like that. All you need to do is press OK and it will re gen the Voxel/World state and add on anything new that Edits the worlds itself. You would need to do this whole process to use a Mod called Real Orbits for example on an existing save/world

This is great for those playing rover-only or limited thruster scenarios on certain planets. Earthlike in particular is horrible for rovers. It never occurred to me that this was a possibility. Avaness blowing minds, as usual.
Typhon Plume 20 Dec, 2021 @ 10:36am
Doesn't seem to work on anything but the earthlike planet to me. Which seems rather restrictive.
Menik 7 Dec, 2021 @ 1:16pm
Driving in Space Engineers be like "How am I upside-down I just got inside the vehicle".
DopePope 20 Nov, 2021 @ 11:16am
#KeenWakeUp this should be in the game !
black_dragon1230 17 Nov, 2021 @ 5:30pm
@shumbalion actually you can get a new planet in exactly the same place as a previous one using SE Toolbox.
shumbalion 17 Nov, 2021 @ 1:28pm
@Axel-of-Atheara, Without looking at the mod, id assume you will need to respawn a planet in an existing world to make it update. Make sure to do a full back up of your world before attempting this tho. To replace a planet you basically spawn in a new one using the admin menu, and delete the old planet also in admin menu. But if you have any grids in the area of the planet things will go KABOOM! =D not advised and hard to get in the same position as the old one. Back up everything, it’s at your own risk ;)
avaness  [author] 17 Nov, 2021 @ 12:53pm
My point is that you will have to figure that out on your own
Axel-of-Atheara 17 Nov, 2021 @ 12:53pm
@avaness, I'm not sure how to do that...
Axel-of-Atheara 17 Nov, 2021 @ 12:08pm
@avaness, I just want to make sure I understand you correctly. Do you mean try adding the mod to a previously existing local world, and if it works, try it on a server?
