yes, it does mean improved husks mod, the icon is shown at the top left of it. and that has been noted down a bug on the main mod, which i seemed to have forgotten to link this to

I have tried running this mod and i don't get a surgeon subclass either. I don't have any other mods and i am in version 0.9.

By huskmod do you mean the Improved Husks Mod?

thats a strange bug, and gunshotwound is only overrided to slowly cause deep tissue damage, i would test this with every other mod disabled to make sure it is this mod that is causing that

Pretty sure this mod is currently causing bullets to sometimes heal the target instead of only killing them. I don't know why but my guess would be that the "gunshot wound" affliction is reaching it's maximum and then getting tipped over causing the numbers to start back from 0 and up.

Which is loaded first?

Tried launching a server without Let Me Choose enabled and it still didn't appear. I am using Thalassophobia as well but I don't believe that it overrides the doctor role in any way, plus it works fine with other job mods. It's not an big issue since I can just add the surgery items to a sub before me and my friends start a campaign, but I figured it would help just to let you know. Thanks!

if you have any sort of Let Me Choose! mod, that will affect it; im quite sure it works on my end, ill try it once more, but if anything its some mod on your side overriding it.

The original mod page says that it adds the Surgeon as a sub-job but I don't see it on the job list? Besides that, everything seems like it works fine so thanks for making a compatible version! I pretty much can't go without huskmod at this point so I appreciate it! :D
