I think that the old story tellers have been integrated to the other faction mods, could find him in the list even tho the mod was disabled

@PhantomO1 nope, I can still research it. It is not just locked, this mod doesn’t work. Ofc he decides to not update it the one time I want to limit tech levels

for those that are saying they can see the research tree, that works as it should, the mod doesn't hide research, it just locks you from researching them

started a new game with this (and many other mods of corse) and it still shows the entire tech tree as well as micro electronis already researched. im using a lot of VE mods as well as rimwar. thanks!

It does not work. Tried with only this mod active and vanilla expanded framework. I could research microelectronics, geothermal power etc. Yes, I waited until the pawn started researching and yes it was progressing.

it seems this mod disables some factions from spawning;
Like for example the faction blend mod
or the Nyaron mod.
or anthro mod;
Why is that?

I had trouble figuring this out as well, but as you read the description. The wording might be a bit confusing. But Spacer tech can still be researched (For some reason.) But not only that. Vanilla tech gets limited. But NOT any other mod technology.

So yes, you can research WW2 technologies.

When using this storyteller with the Rimworld War 2 mod does it limit my tech to the equipments introduced in that mod? I just want to play a WW2 campaign without any extra fluff

@Tyche33 I'm not sure if this is correct but the tech limitation seems to only take effect when you generate the world with this storyteller, so I guess you could start with someone like randy then switch to this one right after the game starts

It let's me select them but will take me a while to get to researching them as I am tribal. I will give it a go and see what happens once we've developed. Got some expertise to try out now too! :D

Did you actually research anything from beyond industrial tech or do you mean you can click them?

Because selecting them and researching them are two entirely different things

I can see on Medieval that some tech is locked in the bottom left of the research screen but on Diego Industrial it allows me to research anything as long as I have a prerequisites and it doesn't seem any of them are locked to prevent me.

Addendum: tried restarting RimWorld, powercycling my PC, changing mod order, starting from a working medieval modpack and building Diego back in - still not limiting the tech level.

+1 for Diego not locking research at industrial any more. Tried moving the mod to the start of the modpack and the end of the modpack, but still not working for me wither. Any suggestions anyone?

I am experiencing the same issue as @FlimFlam stated. Doesnt seem to be actually locking research past Industrial as Maynard does with Medieval. Any help would be appreciated. I love your mods btw!!

Can confirm that unlike Maynard, Diego isn't locking tech currently (for the player). This isn't a huge issue if unlike me you can resist the urge to research past industrial, though I am curious where the lock points are. Tested with only ideology DLC, harmony, expanded framework and Diego on. Then tested with expanded medieval swapped for Diego and Maynard locked properly.

No, it only does what it says on the box. It will prevent factions from spawning, but if any of your other mods add laser guns to tribals, they will still spawn.

Interesting, Elite Mercenaries can either be from vanilla (often used by Pirates) or from a mod. I didn't know Outlanders can use Mercenaries tbh. In this case, sadly there is nothing in this storyteller that would remove them.

We have:

Crink Zavala, elite mercenary, mute, logger.

Guy Moreau, elite mercenary, medical assistant, geologist.

Margarita Frey, elite mercenary, shelter child, escaped convict.

Levin Lossfelt, elite mercenary, street child, slave chemist.

And several others, but all with the "elite mercenary" tag, so that seems to be the culprit.

What is the name of the pawnkind with power armor? When you click them it should show what is their name, their backstory and then for example Archer of Example Kingdom. I’m interested in that bit.

Many other mods, but nothing that I can see that makes changes to the gear or the factions beyond the vanilla expanded (using medieval, frontier, settlers and vikings on top of this storyteller). I even double checked that I was using the correct Diego, which I am. However, I am using Rimcities, which may mess with the factions, I am not certain. That said, it is not a city that is having the issue, as I attacked two cities, and they were at the correct tech levels, with the expected gear. All the raids have been fine as well.

They are named South Thiareera, which is a rough outlander union. It has pawns using Recon Armor and Helmets, as well as biocoded weaponry.

I am using this mod, as well as several others, to run a nomad style playthrough, where I essentially go town to town raiding, putting down roots until I am restocked, and move to the next. This was fine for the first three towns, but this last place had people wearing recon armor and helmets. This is odd, as it that is space level equipment. Any tips on what happened, and how to fix it?

is there a setting to have the story teller limit more technologies? the fact that micro electrics and advanced fabrication can be researched kinda ruins the industrial setting.
