Just wondering. I have Malivil's Randomat for Custom Roles 2.0 enabled. Can I enable your pack of 100 more randomats alongside it? Or will they cause issues if I do that?

@Leerabitt Alright, I've pushed a fix, but in order for this to work, I'm going to have to convince Mal to fix this too, which he might not want to do because he might not want to make a change to add compatibility with TTT2. If you're not using Mal's randomat mod too, the randomat should work now, if you are, you might have to wait for this to be fixed on his end too.

Oh my word, my apologies for such the delayed response. I hopped in a game and your change seems to have done the trick for stopping the crashes!
The only issue now is that the Randomat seems to be struggling to trigger:

Hey, my friends and I love this addon to bits, it adds a ton of variety and fun/silly moments to the game.
However, as of late, for some reason when we swap maps or try to load into a new session on one, if any of the three 100 extra Randomat mods are enabled, our games crash. We narrowed it down to these addons through a systematic disabling of them and found that when these 3 were disabled, it worked fine but whenever any of them weren't, the same issue would arise.
Any help you could give on this would be greatly appreciated; thanks in advance!

@Raven That's very weird. I would try seeing if you still get errors if this is the only mod you have enabled. And if not, slowly start enabling sets of mods until the errors start again to see if a mod could be conflicting.

That makes sense it's incompatible, since my mod already adds all of the randomat events that mod adds (but updated versions of them since I've supported those events for a long while now).

After a long time, I found that the error it's not caused by the mod itself, seems like this mod conflicts with "TTT Extra Randomat Events":

Only when the two mods are installed is when the lua error appears... You should put it in the incompatible mods list!

This mod may work with TTT2 but this is untested.

You were spot on. There was a short Halo Grunt playermodel that broke everything. As soon as it was removed all the randomats immediately worked again.

Never would have figured that out with your excellent troubleshooting. Thanks again! :) Some say you're one of the most helpful mod authors out there.

Wow, you really invested a lot of time in figuring out my problem. Thank you so much! I will say that all the mods you highlighted for causing conflicts are actually disabled when I play - I just never got around to removing them from the collection proper.

If it’s an issue with a specific playermodel then at least that narrows things down. I’ll get on sorting that out.

I can only recommend trial and error, removing mods in groups at a time until the issue goes away. I suspect a playermodel may not be setting its custom viewheight properly and is affecting playermodels other than itself.

Steps to replicate:
- Choose and apply a short model, e.g. the night in the woods cat
- Re-join the server
- Choose and apply a normal height model

I was able to replicate the issue by simply changing back and forth from a short model to a normal height one. It seems the issue isn't with the randomat I'm afraid.

See if removing all of these mods works, you can also try running menu_cleanupgmas on the main menu. Only removing the melee weapons mod will result in anything changing. Everything else was already installed with CR for TTT.

I'm yet to replicate this problem however, the 'BAWK!' randomat for example works fine for me.

I do. It's quite a large one and it's listed on my profile (not sure if I can link it in the comments or not).

I'm not getting any error messages related to the randomats, though. And I'll need to check to see what mods I've added in the last month or two to see if any of those could be causing issues. But I don't know what the conflict would be.

I'm not sure which randomat mod adds this, but I've been running into problems anytime a randomat (there's a lot that do it) changes the POV to that of a shorter model.

It never reverts the POV back to normal after the round is over, even if you die. Instead you're returned to full size playermodels but your POV starts at their waist. It's very strange and has only started happening recently. (those same randomats were never an issue before about a month or two ago)

The viewpoints are only returned when the map changes. Changing playermodels does not fix it.

Kind of an unrelated question but is there a way to see what exactly the randomat is changing so you can recreate it in other gamemodes? I tried checking the console for example when the "Realistic Recoil" (Weapons send you flying) event started hoping to be able to do that in sandbox but nothing showed. The low grav sniper one would be a lot of fun in sandbox as well.

You have both this mod:

You should only have one or the other.

Since you have Custom Roles for TTT, you should use only the one for Custom Roles for TTT (the 2nd one). Don't worry, all randomats that are in the first mod are in the second, they've just been modified to work with Custom Roles.

I'm also having the issue of certain randomats carrying over permanently. Was there any fix for this? It's not a lot of them but the mary poppins one for example would great to get working.
