I've managed to hit the character limit.
When the model is somewhat done, you can use SFM to animate (make sure the session is set to at least 30 fps). When done, the the taunt animation exporter can be used to save your animations. Placing the two glove models into the scene and locking them to the gun may help.
You'd also need an animgraph, which you can actually use to make your gun behave a bit differently, especially when paired with vscripts (tags are also kinda important).
And - of course - you need to use the generic pistol entities, and map extensions to place them into the campaign.
