SEZER 10 Aug, 2023 @ 3:23am
is there any wersion for 2023?
CowMowTV 29 Jul, 2022 @ 1:11am
I think it still works, but Compatibility Report reports that it should be unsubscribed.
Madisonian 28 Jan, 2022 @ 8:42am
Should probably make this Unlisted on the workshop so it stops showing up in searches.
Drift_91 8 Nov, 2021 @ 2:27am
@Scoup It's actually got some incompatibilities with other mods that are patched out in the updated version of the original. For example Upgrade Untouchable makes the game unplayable when combined with Precision Engineering 2.0, but has been fixed with the original Precision Engineering.
Scoup 19 Jul, 2021 @ 8:24am
It still works and is better than the vanilla version.
TS_Mind_Swept 12 Jul, 2021 @ 10:01am
Aight, I'll grab the other; thx for having the modification either way :p
lukacdominik 25 May, 2021 @ 4:50am
@Cydonian Mystery I think you're talking about a different mod, Fine Road Tool, this one doesn't have anything to do with elevation control
Cydonian Mystery 24 May, 2021 @ 10:13am
Please don't get rid of this version. It still has features like allowing much finer control of elevations that either aren't in the original mod, or don't work with it.

I tried switching back and 1 meter elevation changes didn't work (it was 3 or 5 meters or something), which I *need* for delicate interchange work.

This is still a useful resource for the community, and I *urge* you to reconsider your plans to get rid of it.

I abandoned Steam for a while, and with that the mod itself. Mod is a overdescription, it was never meant to really be more than a bugfix for the snapping. Anyhoos, you should all use the original mod again. I'll keep this one up for a while, maybe try to make an ingame message saying people shouldn't use it anymore.

help a lot ,thk from cn
algernon 6 Mar, 2021 @ 2:35am
@lukacdominik It would appear that there was no further update to this mod after initial release, and that was only one minor fix (the snapping issue for non-zonable networks). The original mod has since been updated to not only incorporate that fix but to add additional functionality on top of that; so yes, this mod can now be considered obsolete.

I'm not even sure if this creator is around any more, but certainly Simie now is again - so my recommendation is that people unsub from this one and return to the (updated) original.
lukacdominik 28 Feb, 2021 @ 6:55pm
is this mod obsolete now that the original got updated?
fahlkn 27 Feb, 2021 @ 5:09pm
@Mel line is blue for me, additional info lines yellow

melsaywhat 15 Feb, 2021 @ 11:39am
Does this change the color of the line? It's so hard to see the bright green text in Vanilla CS.
Rylemsheath 27 Jan, 2021 @ 8:25pm
Yes, FliXis. This mod displays extra information about network assets (roads, rails, pipes, etc.) that you are placing. Fine Road Anarchy and Fine Road Tool change the behavior of placing those assets. Since they all do different things, you will need to subscribe to all three.
FliXis 19 Jan, 2021 @ 11:55pm
Do i need this mod if i have already installed "fine road anarchy" and "fine road tool"?
Sasquatch 22 Nov, 2020 @ 5:37am
I no longer get the extended guidelines. It does still snap to angles.
cancer 21 Nov, 2020 @ 12:34am
does this still work? ctrl shift alt doesn't seem to work
Nickayz 19 Nov, 2020 @ 2:24pm
Cool. Just found this new version. Thumbs up for remaking it!
marioeknecht 2 Nov, 2020 @ 4:12am
if you really want to add imperial units ... I think a better option would be to make these optional ... i for one prefer metric units and i am sure there's enough people out there who do as well : )

thank you though for updating the original one ... have you tried talking to the creator of the original?
gbuck70 26 Oct, 2020 @ 3:45pm
Works perfectly for me. No more needing to build tram tracks with the dirt road to get length snapping, then upgrade dirt road to tram tracks. Now I can just build with tram tracks directly. Awesome!
Tuna  [author] 17 Sep, 2020 @ 1:42pm
Hey everyone, just checking in, still surprised so many people subscribed to this mod and are actually giving me awards for it. I have somewhat abandonded C:S in the last couple of months, but will probably start playing it again in a few weeks. Also, that's when I'll check in on some of the requests people have made, such as Imperial units (sounds easy enough) and having the labels displayed in the correct side of an angle.

To those who are experiencing trouble with this mod; yeah, I really can't help you if the game is crashing, messing with your saves or anything like that. AFAIK from reading the code of the mod, it's just enhancing existing features from the game. Like Allystrya said, it doesn't write anything. Also, as stated in the description, I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing in C#,so anything I can find is just bonus.

Last but not least, if any other modders have fixes or additions or anything, feel free to create a PR at github. The link is in the description.
MrMontana1889 14 Aug, 2020 @ 6:27am
This is a required mod of mine. I simply cannot play without. The rare times that I play completely vanilla, this is the mod I am missing the most - more than TM:PE.

Nice job. Love the snapping for highways, too. That's a really nice upgrade.

abyss 20 Jul, 2020 @ 6:57am
I forgot to turn this mod on before, but highway snapping was working perfectly. Then, I turned your mod on and it broke highway snapping. There's something wrong on your mod dude.
Jack The Flipper 17 Jul, 2020 @ 11:43am
After more testing i found the root cause was the 81 tiles mod, which doesnt seem to be able to work without PE(this is said nowhere in the description of either mod, so there could be a third mod involved).
Allystrya 16 Jul, 2020 @ 8:29pm
@Jack The Flipper - I highly doubt this. All this mod does is provide a user data/information while in game. There isn't anything that gets written to a save. If you want to submit an ouput log I would be happy to look at it.
Jack The Flipper 16 Jul, 2020 @ 9:19am
This mod appears to break saves if you remove it, i have a relatively new city where i used it and after noticing some issues and trying to track down the problem i noticed that i cannot load the save without PE anymore.
codewitch 29 Jun, 2020 @ 5:06pm
@dannycak - this has no impact on your save file, but you cannot be subscribed to both versions
Dannycak 29 Jun, 2020 @ 12:51pm
hey @tuna
just a silly comment so i shall unsub other old version and sub this one right?
unsubbing older version wont crush my game i guess?

thanks
Tuna  [author] 27 Jun, 2020 @ 3:25pm
Oh wow, that's a lot of new comments! Kinda forgot about this game and the mod, haha. Thanks for all the comments everyone!

@sLurMz: It's probably doable, but I'll need to check. On the other hand, welcome to the glory of SI! ;)

@A-mak: glorious suggestion, I'll try to add a measurement of pixelfeet as well.

@amaroid7: No, as stated, it only fixes the length snapping. I haven't had that issue myself (but to be fair, haven't played the game in like weeks or months), but if I encountering it, I'll try to do some digging if PE causes it.

@szymonlama1503: Did you unsubscribe the original PE mod? If it doesn't work for you, I'm not sure what I can do for you.

codewitch 22 Jun, 2020 @ 5:44pm
@szymonlama1503 Just to be sure, you are aware this still respects a) snapping rules set in the snapping menu and b) Fine Road Tool / Anarchy overrides, correct?

@amaroid7 sounds like MOM - what's the depth of your metro stations? MOM allows you to set that, but it's inconsistent about when it auto-resets the defaults.
stinky 19 Jun, 2020 @ 9:04am
this doesn't work. i have it subbed but i can neither use the snapping or the measurements.
Krzeszny 15 Jun, 2020 @ 9:47am
This is the mod I've been looking for! The mod Measure It! is useless for me.
pbilk 15 Jun, 2020 @ 7:41am
@Tuna ah, I thought that highway thing was a limitation because of the game not a bug. I am glad I found this new version with the bug fixes. Thank you!
amaroid7 9 Jun, 2020 @ 11:15pm
Using the original PE mod, I've had the issue that all my metro tunnels sunk down by 12m (at least someone on reddit commented it might be related to precision engineering). Has this been fixed in this version?
dnking21 9 Jun, 2020 @ 7:02pm
I should modify the MOD ICON on the steam display page to let more people see this work
A-mak 6 Jun, 2020 @ 9:58pm
@Are S.

Just use move-it and zoom-it, select a cim clone and line them up for true measurement of feet.

Kinda surprised such a great quality mod did not naturally do this from using the game settings.
SnowSquire 31 May, 2020 @ 5:31pm
@Are S. Just learn Chinese, and start to use it, like most of the world does. If you cannot do that, download google translate.

Shitty argument, if he knows imperial units it'd be better because he has a feel for long things can be.
Are S. 28 May, 2020 @ 7:55pm
@sLurMz
Just learn SI units, and start to use them, like most of the world does. If you cannot do that, divide # metres by 3 to get approximate # feet.
slurmy 28 May, 2020 @ 7:51pm
Is thre a way to display units in imperial instead of metric? If not could you add it? Thanks!
编代码的西瓜 18 May, 2020 @ 1:59am
nice
Professor H. Farnsworth 10 May, 2020 @ 2:45pm
I could possibly take a look at it. I am a software developer so I might be able to make heads or tails of the mod. Can't make any promises, because there's little chance I will make heads or tails of the mod code as I doubt it is documented (ie. no explanation of the methods, variables, constraints etc in comments in the classes) - mod makers rarely do this even though it's industry standard so others can continue on your work.
Tuna  [author] 10 May, 2020 @ 12:00pm
@icbogue I've posted a far too detailed explanation on Reddit about that: https://www.reddit.com/r/CitiesSkylines/comments/ge62qa/the_length_snapping_bug_in_precision_engineering/

@Winter_and_Winner: The bug with highways/tracks/whatever not snapping to length has been fixed. Also, the name.
criscola 10 May, 2020 @ 7:15am
Great! Looking forward to new developments.
icbogue 9 May, 2020 @ 1:02pm
I never thought I'd see the day when Precision Engineering would be made obsolete. It's the oldest mod I'm subscribed to. But I'm interested in what exactly stopped working with the snapping. In my experience, highways have never length snapped unless there's a road with a grid near them. Were they not snapping even when there was a grid?
Mr. Eric 9 May, 2020 @ 7:28am
what's the difference with Precision Engineering.
ancke 8 May, 2020 @ 7:49pm
Great, it works now, many thanks!
UguuDoki 5 May, 2020 @ 7:11pm
@Tuna
👍 thanking you in anticipation
