This mod hasn't been updated in almost 2 years and is mostly broken.

See the Dev's comment on the previous comment page:
Due to a change in material circumstances, I am currently unable to work on updating the mod. The re-write update is therefore postponed indefinitely.

ive noticed some minor issues with primitives specifically. the primitive sol that spawns for three-body problem isnt actually in the early space age, leaving it without a description. distant relatives doesnt even spawn any primitives.

Currently works without CTD in 3.12, but several origin's mechanic is seems not fitting on current version. (Example : Shroud Touched does not force Psionics tradition and Cybernetic Manipulation also not forcing Cybernetics tradition, unlike Teachers of the Shroud and Cybernetic Creed Origin.)
Author says still rebuilding this mod, but due of long absence, I am afraid to say this mod seems completely abandoned...

Such a creative mod where every origin added truly felt unique. I'm a huge fan of Dual Evolution personally; it's such a sweet concept in a galactic setting like Stellaris.

@QUENTOPOLIS the before we go origin removes guaranteed habitable planets? Seems extremely handicap, if you're unlucky and no others spawn you're completely and utterly fked in the arse.

Not gonna start an argument on someone else's workshop page. I'll just say that you can literally look at the mod's scripting when you subscribe to it, it's not in any special file format. Anyone can view it and see why they've chosen to rewrite rather than update it.
I didn't say it was impossible to patch, just that it's not worth the effort as you'll have to re-code it eventually anyway. Your not understanding how to read that code doesn't mean everyone else can't.

You actually, do not seem to understand at all. Did you... not read what the dev just said? They need to re-do it because of all the legacy code, stacking on top of it with more makeshift fixes won't work or not for long, then they'll just have to recode it all anyway. It can't just be patched, hence why they're remaking it.

Its actually not surprising that the mod is not Updating because of Paradox Modding Coding Shenanigans, i do understand that this mod have to made from the ground up because Paradox couldn't stop updating after 1 Picoseconds (literally), i do hope at least there is a temporary fork for this mod, as this is the only mod that have a alternative Syncretic Evolution aka Dual Evolution.
Would be a little nice if there will be more origins after the rework and i hope that Dual Evolution would still eventually be there still.

@QUENTOPOLIS it's fine I know modding takes time and IRL stuff can get in the way just finish it whenever you can. I know Paradox games particularly almost constantly update so that does create issues that always need fixing.

I understand the frustration with this mod being out of date and apologize for the lack of recent communication.

Origins Extended is in the process of being re-made from the ground up as the mod has reached a state where legacy code is straining development and update capabilities. This has been, is, and will take time to accomplish.

In the meantime, if anyone wishes to help work on a temporary update patch or fork, then get in touch with me via Discord ( @quentopolis / QUENTOPOLIS#3271 ) as we'd appreciate the hand. Right now the amount and level of 'temporary fixes' that have been made over time and are required is simply less practical for us than rewriting the mod.

For most of my Experience, anything that doesn't include traits, but i just use this mod for the Dual Evolution because its the only one that will not be broken anytime soon although. For the Three Body Problem is at least 40/60 chances of breaking, likely perhaps other my mods conflicting with it or somewhat breaking it, but most of the time the 60% it works. as long it doesn't give like Traits mostly Leader Traits, i will also assume that some might work if you disable Paragons DLC.

Some of the Origins still works, and some doesn't but yeah, too bad this mod is not updated since then, whatever kind of miracle that will update this mod... soon or not maybe? but for now atleast, it will stay like this. until the next update that again paradox do, perhaps it will make all origins unplayable (broken).

@Unincognito I beleive so. You're starting with overpopulation, which invokes resources being low. This forces you to either try to "balance the books", or forcibly colonize ASAP in order to stop the bleeding and find resources.

You're essentially in a Titanfall scenario.

Great mod. Loving the variety here, lots of different ways to take things.
I wanted to ask before I posted it as a potential issue. The Distant Relatives origin isn't generating any pre-FTL civilisations in my home system. There's two fleets above two planets there, which tells me it should be working. But those fleets both become VLUUR in the first month of the game. I restarted a new game at the 2300 mark, but no pre-FTL planets appeared in my home system.
Is this a potential issue, or could this be due to the First Contact DLC affecting pre-FTLs pending an update of the mod?
