I REALLY wish someone would take up this mod, please! I don't know enough on modding to do it myself. Unless anyone has suggestions for a similar mod?

communism and socialism are evil, cry more @plutonianempire cuz someone wants compensation for their work.
Story Enthusiast 3. Dez. 2020 um 6:57
Yeah... @plutonianempire do you even know what gatekeeping is? The guy is just tired of keeping his mods up to date
Kain 17. Nov. 2020 um 8:26
@plutonianempire
And thirdly development of this mod, with the traditions has been halted as for the other version, it has been taken over by another team and the assets for the original have been made public by the author as far as I remember but do not quote me on that, you can ask him personally.
Kain 17. Nov. 2020 um 8:24
@plutonianempire
Secondly he has other things to do IRL like job, life, etc. because he is not a student, he is an actual adult with bills and rent to pay. How do you think he will balance those out along with working on this mod for free and having spare time to rest? He will have to sacrifice one of those and it is only fair that if he sacrifices something to work on this mod then we should sponsor him for doing so, in case he asks.
Kain 17. Nov. 2020 um 8:24
@plutonianempire
First of all this is not a problem of capitalism. The creator does not represent a company that employs workers and underpays them for their labour. He is one individual doing something that takes his time and effort and that wants to be properly rewarded for his labour which means that you, the one asking him to work on this for free, are the actual slave driver and exploiter. Not everyone that asks for payment is a capitalist, otherwise according to your argument, the underpaid amazon workers asking for money are capitalists that don't want to work for the common good. See how your argument does not work?
Kain 17. Juli 2020 um 11:39
There isn't. But you have in the descriptions a clue on how an updated version may come ;)
Betamax 17. Juli 2020 um 8:01
Anyone know if there's an updated version of the traditions portion of this mod floating around somewhere?

I've seen on the workshop several iterations of these traditions in different mods, so I'm hoping maybe someone managed to update it on their own
Broon 15. Juli 2020 um 11:22
damn i miss those traditions
petruxa  [Autor] 10. Juni 2020 um 13:53
@Kamchatka the thing is - I really DID say to my subscribers that I didn't have time and will for it anymore, but people practically forced me to accept their donations and update my 2 other main mods to 2.7 and Federations.

The version on this page is basically just an expansion of those mods.
Heinz Pepperoni 10. Juni 2020 um 9:54
Maybe your intent is honest indeed, but to me it doesn't come across as such. You could have simply said that you don't have time/will for it anymore, or that updates may come slowly but a donation was appreciated, yet you chose a pricetag instead. That's the issue, the pricetag.
"Modding should not be about money except when I do it?"
Whatever, let's end it now. I'll rollback and try it out. If I like it, I'll take the torch.

I'll thank you at least for being reasonable in your answers all the way through. I expected far worse when I began the shitstorm.
petruxa  [Autor] 10. Juni 2020 um 2:47
@Kamchatka

"Modding should not be about money" - I totally agree, and I didn't ask for money when I started to work on my mods 4 years ago. All of them were created out of my passion and I never asked for a penny.

Creating is one thing - it's fun and interesting, but maintaining is completely another story. Keeping the mods up with the constant vanilla updates and DLS's (which are not at ll free, by the way) takes a LOT of time, it's very routine and not-fun-at-all process, and passion can hardly help you here. It is a job. Anyone is welcome to do it, in case he's got free and will - mods are open projects by default.

But in case you want ME to do this - well, sorry, but my time costs money these days. Life goes on, and things changed for me signigficantly in the last few years, I have a wife and a kid to support and spend time with.

I believe my position is fairly clear and honest here.

Heinz Pepperoni 10. Juni 2020 um 2:16
My reasoning is that mods are passion projects in the first place. If you don't have time for them, don't mod then. If inside your mind you think: "why bother?" then you ain't interested in it anymore and you shouldn't work on it. Hiding updates behind paywalls is desplicable at best, if a developer were to do this, we'd all have their heads. I've modded games since 2004, I know they are time consuming excersices, but nobody is forcing you to do it in the first place, so treating it as if it's some job is kind of dumb. It rather sounds like an excuse to get tax-free revenue for doing very little.
I haven't even ever played a game with this mod. I just stumbled here randomly. But yeah I can update it myself, I know how to do it. But, just as a heads up, if I do it, I'll release it for free with full credits to you. Modding shouldn't be about money. There's tons of way bigger mods out there for more complicated games and nobody has ever asked a cent in years of development.
petruxa  [Autor] 10. Juni 2020 um 2:01
@Kamchatka

I believe @Kain has pretty much covered this (thanks to him, by the way), but still.

500 USD is my evaluation of my personal time, which I would be required to spend in order to work on this update. It is up to the community whether to give me this money or not. Market is very beautiful in it's simplicity, if you just think about it.

If I see that people are really interested in this mod to be updated - I will do the job, exactly how I did it with my other mods. Otherwise, why would I be bothered with this?
Harry 10. Juni 2020 um 1:09
It is a shame you didnt use a gofund me or something
Kain 9. Juni 2020 um 16:52
@Kamchatka
Why ?
1. It's not your mod it's his, he decides when and in what conditions he works on them.
2. It's a complex mod that requires a lot of time which he could spend on his own projects, family, friends, self-development etc. all in all it's time consuming and not in a very constructive way.
3. It's not a mandatory project.
4. You can always learn to mod and do it yourself for personal use, instead you choose the comfort of waiting which isn't much of a business model in and of itself.

Are these enough of a reason, I could come up with a dozen more and I am sure you are clever enough to realise this yourself but the point isn't to be conscious it's to whine and so you criticise him instead of waiting or donating like everyone else.
Heinz Pepperoni 9. Juni 2020 um 16:33
You haven't answered the main question. Why do you need 500 dollars in the first place to update a mod? This smells like a desplicable business model.
petruxa  [Autor] 9. Juni 2020 um 11:34
@Kamchatka I know exactly how much have been raised so far for this update. A couple of people donated 5-10 usd each. That's it for the moment, but that's not nearly enough for me to start working, sorry.
Heinz Pepperoni 8. Juni 2020 um 13:36
Why exactly are 500 USD needed to upload this mod? You can't even see the amount donated so far in the pages you posted. How do we know 500 bucks haven't been raised yet?
petruxa  [Autor] 26. Mai 2020 um 3:26
My goal is 500 USD, but so far only a couple of people donated.
Harry 26. Mai 2020 um 2:54
Yeah how far are you along the goal?
Elizabeth The Based 25. Mai 2020 um 14:06
How much more money is needed? I'd like to know how much I need to donate
petruxa  [Autor] 13. Mai 2020 um 5:18
@🐄Gabby🐄 thanks for your support! At some point I will start working on it, regardless of how much I raised, but for the moment I'd like to have some rest from day-to-day modding.
🐄Gabby🐄 13. Mai 2020 um 5:11
Just donated <3 I dunno how much you have raised so far, but I hope it's nearing the point where you can start working on it!
tathen 11. Mai 2020 um 8:45
someone who is not me pay this man!
petruxa  [Autor] 11. Mai 2020 um 6:53
In order to update this version, I'm initiating another fundraising. The details can be found in the description above.
Allein 9. Mai 2020 um 16:52
simple question: is the mod in question anywhere close to having it's development cycle near completion so I can satisfy my demand for a more expansive and captivating empire setup?
Mustang Mike 26. Apr. 2020 um 12:58
Hi is this still being worked on?
Cloudsmilo 20. Apr. 2020 um 23:33
Traditions was coming?We need it.:bbtcat:
Kain 8. Apr. 2020 um 23:03
@_b1ack0ut
Read it again more carefully. 5 points for 5 axis, this varriant has 7... To invest a point in each means having 7 points.
_b1ack0ut 8. Apr. 2020 um 10:14
fairly sure thats how this mod works already, @Kain , is it not?
Kain 5. Apr. 2020 um 10:46
@petruxa

In the alternative version we have 5 ethic points to be distributed and 5 total axes, this way we can invest one point in each choice if we wanted to. Will we get the same possibility here?
parabellummatt 29. März 2020 um 20:01
Thank you! You're incredible!
petruxa  [Autor] 29. März 2020 um 7:26
Guys, the Alternative version of this mod is updated to 2.6 and Federations. It does not include traditions, for that there will be a separate version somewhere in the near future.

Привет всем! Пока обновил альтернативную версию мода, которая не включает традиции. Чуть позже возможно всё таки сделаю альтернативную версию с традициями.
Horror-TV 28. März 2020 um 9:04
Здарова Петруха! Мод ещё будет обновляться ?
moonandstar 27. März 2020 um 18:34
This mod and NSC are what make the game playable. Its sill a decent game, but once you've been spoiled with these two, you cant go back!
parabellummatt 21. März 2020 um 21:39
Thank you so much for this mod. It's by far my favorite. I've never donated to a modder before, but I'm defintely going to try for you!
thruthewormhole 21. März 2020 um 15:07
Thanks for all the work you've put into this mod. It really boosts immersion and makes the games leagues more fun.
