Removing this mod fixed it

Ah! I finally found the mod that involved the "Factories" tradition. Looked and looked for days, but couldn't find out who had made the mod that did that change. *sigh*
So this mod not being updated seems to create this thing here:

I've given up on trying to make this work and just manually made all the changes in EST. Can't wait for all that work to be undone the next time steam shoves an update down my throat hahahahaaaaaa thanks gaben

Does this still work? I've downloaded it but I can't get the mod manager (Paradoxos) to even recognize that I've got it downloaded. I thought it might've been the descriptor.mod file but I edited it and the file structure to match another mod I have the works but that didn't change anything

FYI This mod still works for 2.5.X, I will update the check mark once EST sticks to 2.5.X instead of supporting 2.3.3, just in case some other corrections are made.

!LoT is not a prereq, not at all. Technically the only one is EST, since I simply overwrite its english localisation file. But for this patch to make sense, PT is also needed (everything will still work without it ofc). There are no other requirements, but I haven't tried EST + PT without !LoT (I assume it would still work, just without !LoT optimizations).

Wait a minute... I first got there following a link from the "!Lots of Traditions - Only PT & EST" speaking about "submods" but it's not actually a prereq for your mod, is it ?
Theobald 26 Jul, 2019 @ 9:18am
I don't think it's a localization error, it must be from the original merge mod.
The Archivist tradition opener is given when you actually open the Academy tradition, and it seems to be a blank effect instead.
Plerion  [author] 26 Jul, 2019 @ 5:07am
@Theobald - I am not sure what you mean. You found another duplicate?
Plerion  [author] 26 Jul, 2019 @ 5:07am
Mod updated:

- renamed "Malice" to "Malevolence". Do note that given the EST description ("Countries which either allows purging or which accepts no refugees and either attacks on contact or have slaves") I actually liked more "Xenophobia", but Thesaurus accepts malevolence as a synonym.
- renamed "Biogenesis" to "Biosynthesis". It's closer to EST's original name and description, while "Osmosis" does not sound like a 'tradition' to follow (to me).
- renamed "Statism" to "Control", to better represent nations that are not "states" but can still exert centralized control.

Let me know if there's any issue.
Theobald 29 Jun, 2019 @ 7:50am
Me again, it seems the Archivist unlocker (two tech bonuses) is actually unlocked by the Academy unlocker
Theobald 25 Jun, 2019 @ 1:46am
And thank *you* for your hard work ^^
Plerion  [author] 24 Jun, 2019 @ 4:42pm
Thanks Theobald, I will probably add your corrections.

I'm still testing Traditional Trees, so any update will have to wait.
Theobald 24 Jun, 2019 @ 12:51pm
There are two more duplicated traditions : Biogenesis and Malice.
I humbly propose for EST's ones to be called "Osmosis" and "Malevolence" instead.

And if I may, I also propose "Control" for "Statism", and "Virtual Intelligence" for "Automation", because those terms are closer to the actual perks effects.
In the same line of reasoning, "Theology" is probably better represented by "Religion" (because therein are all the steps for an organized religion)
Plerion  [author] 12 Jun, 2019 @ 4:15pm
@everyone - The mod still works fine, so no update needed.

I am also testing an alternative to !LoT; a mod called Traditional Trees, which also uses PT and EST. If that goes well this mod will not be needed.
Plerion  [author] 7 Jun, 2019 @ 11:49am
@Turkey Thanks a lot for the report.

@everyone !LoT (alt version) has been updated, so I'm updating this mod using current EST version. The "Malice" tree introduced by EST will be renamed to "Hostility".
Plerion  [author] 5 Jun, 2019 @ 4:09am
Hi people; I came back to the game.

The mod should work still, but I will re-check everything and update if needed as soon as I get my new PC back at home (I also would like to give time to 2.3 Wolfe to settle down).
Turkey 2 Jun, 2019 @ 5:14pm
There are duplicate Malice traditions, just wanted to let you know
Plerion  [author] 28 Feb, 2019 @ 4:50am
Hm, that patch doesn't conflict with mine: it doesn't touch the one EST file I tweaked.

Also I don't use it so I probably wouldn't be able to test it or provide support, but you could easily DIY by changing the names in the english localisation file.
LumberingTroll 27 Feb, 2019 @ 6:37pm
Could you add a patch for using Plentiful Traditions Extra Slots? currently using this moves it back to EST slots.
The_SA_Guy 31 Jan, 2019 @ 7:28pm
Thanks for doing this!
Plerion  [author] 25 Jan, 2019 @ 8:23am
Mod updated. "Faith" changed to "Theology" instead of "Priesthood". Reasoning: it is still consistent with its religious overarching theme, effects, and flavor text, and it doesn't conflict (much) with materialism. Materialistic empires disregard religion anyways, so this tree could use a tradition swap from EST.
Plerion  [author] 22 Jan, 2019 @ 10:57pm
@boisegangpc - For now you can use !Lots of Traditions - Only PT & EST . You can move to the main branch mentioned in the description once its dependencies have been updated (AT is still out of date). You can also add more tradition-related compatible mods later (e.g. ETC, ESAP, etc.). Of course, some of these mods are still ironing out some/many bugs since 2.2.0.

As for the name, thanks for pointing that out - now I'm fully convinced. Honestly, given the effects of the tree maybe they deserve a tradition swap, but that is beyond the scope of this mod (maybe you could suggest this on the EST page?). Since gnosticism and materialism are also in conflict, I will consider another name for the Faith tree, and update accordingly. Ideas are very welcome!
Boisegangpc 22 Jan, 2019 @ 10:27pm
I have a quick question: What mod am I supposed to use(with 2.2.x) to merge the tradition mods together? I'm not sure if the !Lots of Traditions mod works with the current build of the game.

As for why I suggested renaming priesthood, I've noticed that it's an option for my fanatic materialist empire, which doesn't make sense for them. Would be funny if it gave "Tech-Priests" for materialist empires instead of "Priest" jobs. Grab that and Mechanicum and you're one step closer to the Adeptus Mechanicus of WH40k.

I'd mess around with the localization files myself, but I'm not familiar with how Stellaris handles its mod files and such so I don't want to touch it.
Plerion  [author] 22 Jan, 2019 @ 7:22pm
If you mean "Plentiful Tradition Addition for Expanded Stellaris Traditions" (PTA for EST), I was wondering the same, since this patch just touches one EST localisation file. I guess it doesn't matter though, since using EST plus PTA for EST does not yield any duplication. I also would like to add Additional Traditions to my mod list once it's up to date, so I want this patch to be 100% compatible with the main branch of !LoT.

BTW, I did this mod because I wanted more traditions, but:

1) "PTA for EST" wasn't updated (since May 2018) and Girion seemed to have a lot of work; and
2) that very same mod outright removes duplicated trees (even though they do not share the same functionality); and I wanted every tree from EST, PT and AT. So I started using !Lots of Traditions, but got confused as a new player by the duplications.
Shrooblord 22 Jan, 2019 @ 6:44pm
OBJECTION!!

Nah man, you do you. I do have a question though: if you look at EST's modpage, the mod author has posted a compatibility mod with PT themselves. How does this compatibility mod interact with your mod?
Plerion  [author] 22 Jan, 2019 @ 6:35pm
On a second thought, I am considering changing "Priesthood" by "Gnosticism". It has both the idea of destiny built-in (which I liked, since it fits EST's description much better), and the notion of having a religious motivation (as seen from the effects).

If no one opposes, I will change it on the next update.
Plerion  [author] 22 Jan, 2019 @ 6:26pm
Just to be clear, it wasn't exactly easy to me to 100% justify all of the name changes (this applies to some of the original custom tradition names as well). From EST, this is Faith's description:

Faith
"The galaxy is vast and full of wonders but we must not let it lead us astray from our true path."
Adoption: +5% Happiness.
(1) One Faith: +10% Unity.
(2) Holy Scripts: +5 Stability.
(3.1) The Clergy: Provide one Priest Job for every 25 pops on a planet.
(3.2) The Clergy: Priests produce +1 unity and consume one less consumer goods. [Swap:Spiritualist Empire]
(4) Preachers: +25% Edict Duration.
(5) Deus Vult: +25% Morale, +5% Weapon damage.
Finisher: We may select one ethic which attraction is increased by 50%.
Plerion  [author] 22 Jan, 2019 @ 6:18pm
Why would you change Faith/Priesthood to any of those?

And yes, I also love traditions (as long as they are balanced!).
Boisegangpc 22 Jan, 2019 @ 5:42pm
I would suggest changing the "Priesthood" name to something like "Dominion" or "Destiny". Anyway, more traditions is always good for someone like me who plays with a 0.5x tech/unit cost modifier(GET ALL THE THINGS!)
