NF should have its own settings with which you should be able to enable manual bolting.

@Shy if you use Spearhead with NF i am pretty sure that you can activate that under the SPE settings. But im not 100% sure if that will effect NF rifles.

really wish that the rifles only rechamber after you release mouse 1, like most bolt action rifles from other mods, can't really tell if I hit a target or not unless they actually go down. Great mod overall though!

Hello dear creators of this modification. I have encountered a problem that is not as if interferes with me and my friends. Yeah I know its practically impossible without ANY clues. The weirdest thing is that it was already fixed for maybe 2-3 updates and then appeared again. Then the update that was supposed to fix it never did. Maybe it gets fixed by accident someday. Im such a perfectionist that this completely ruins immersion especially since it worked before and I got used to it working. I absolutely hated the fact that back in OFP days it was impossible to implement so all the great WW2 mods were unplayable for me.

So I saw in the comments somebody else also has the bolt-action animation not working. I tried again hoping that the stars would have aligned right tonight with no addons and no DLC's other than Northern Fronts and the stuff that it requires (CBA3 and IFA3). Still the bolts work but the AI doesnt move his hand. Finally got to checking out the rpt file and...
There was NOTHING hinting at any problems with the bolt-action system. I used the NF Debug Module and checked the box thats supposed to watch out for excactly those kinds of bugs. Players animation works but the AI only reloads the magazines, not every cartridge. Tried IFA3 and there all bolt-actioning is working fine.
Maybe I missed something, where could I send or upload the file is somebody could maybe take a look at it now that Im not the only one?
If theres two, theres gotta be at least a few others... :steamhappy:

So with one of the updates a file called "North_opt_zoom_mod" was removed and some missions basing on NF do not work anymore. Is there a way to get hands on it so it could be added as a separate compat mod to be loaded along with NF so those old missions still work? Manually fixing SQMs is pain in the ass especially when one does not know what asset was added with that now-removed PBO.

You made a wonderful mod! The uniform of the Red Army turned out much better than the Iron Front. Can you add new artillery for the Russians? For example, ML-20. You have a 152mm gun, but would like an ML-20, because... This is the main Russian cannon in World War II. And it would be great to make self-propelled guns (Su-152, Su-100). Can you do this?)))

I noticed I was having some problems with SPE recently. I went through my mod list enabling mods one by one and found that this mod in particular is causing the SPE US Army Coverall tankmen to become undeletable by Zeus. Any idea why?

Oooh yeah Finnish WW2 airforce? Just throwing stuff around here but Sabre has plenty of planes used by Finnish airforce during Winter war and Continuation War. Gloster Gladiator, BF-109, Fiat G.50, Morane Saulnier, Junkers-88 and Heinkel-111 come to mind. Dont know whats his policy on using his planes on other mods but maybe ask nice and you shall receive?
He would have planes for the Soviets too again covering both Winter- and Continuation Wars.
Only plane that would be missing that served in both wars would be the Fokker D.XXI.

Ok stupid question. How do I get the rpt. file for Northern Fronts that might contain the clue about the missing AI bolt action animation? Its puzzled me too because apparently almost everybody else got it working after the update that fixed it except me. :(

We would have been more worried about it if we could replicate it. Two updates ago was like one and a half year ago - I would expect more people to report not working animations. Anyhows, please drop a .rpt file in our discord's bugreports, maybe it will be of help.

So the bolt-action bug was not there for me until maybe 2-3 updates ago. Then it appeared and in the next few updates it was supposed to be fixed but kept persisting. IFA3 bolt action rifles work fine, CUP bolt action weapons work fine but the Northern Front rifles never work.
Only thing is that the animations work perfect on me, the player. With the player they work in first and third person views every time but never on the AI.
I have tried with no mods other than the basic Northern Fronts but with the same result so no other mods are causing it. I have not modded the Northern Fronts myself so that cant be the problem either.
I did try to get the CUP bolt action system working on Northern Fronts but I am too dum to make it work. The AI stopped firing completely so no idea if the animations would have worked.

Maybe consider using some other system since theres a ton of mods with working bolt-action weapons?

HI, it seems that NF weapons do not set "ace_overheating_allowSwapBarrel = 1" (for MGs) and "ace_overheating_closedBolt = 0" (for SMGs and MGs), please consider adding them to be better work with ACE Overheating, thanks:steammocking:

Using the "Scenario Start" Module, the text appears and so does the music I set, but the music doesn't fade out, it keeps playing. I tried checked and unchecked "Music Auto-Fade" but it didn't work...

I'm 99% sure this problem has always been present. It comes down to Arma engine and happens also for other mods using bolt action rifles. If the bug happens at random and relatively rarely it can't be fixed, if it's consistent and the anims just don't work then it might be a NF bug.

So I and apparently some others have this bug where the AI soldiers dont play the bolt action animation when firing. The rifles bolt does move but the soldiers hand does not. The magazine reload animation works though. This problem surfaced maybe two updates ago, before that everything worked fine. Any thoughts about what might cause it and how to fix it?

That's because SPE uses a different damage system. we're working on updating our stuff to work with that but it's not done.
