@xDevilz_Shadow Ok, well I can pretty much guarantee that anything in this mod that modifiers pops, buildings, or planets will simply not work. MegaCorps were added in 2.2, so the civics and other authorities won't be checking for those either. I assume this means that MegaCorps will be able to take any civic added or modified by this mod.

@xDevilz_Shadow Well, considering it was made to work with 2.1, before the economy/planet overhaul, it is unlikely that most of the modifiers will function correctly. Will it make the game crash? Probably not. Will it really screw with the AI? Probably.

I'm happy to try and give a shot at making some icons no problem. I consider this mod to be pretty much an essential for me, if you could make a short list of icons you would need that would be cool. Anything to get this updated.

-and then once some other species hops into your empire, they grow normally. And if you use -100% pop growth for the species then any bonus is going to reduce that, so it's best to use some much more absurd number like -3141%.

I figured out how to make an easy Eusocial civic.
Make the queens make pops similar to roboticists, and have the civic add a trait to the main species that makes zero pop growth. If possible, queens should only create pops that have the eusocial trait.

well tbf - he did take all the time he had in updating to a good standard for his base mod pack and with 2.3 that took a while for all the mods to be working again and he did also say that i wont come back as a big pack but more as an addon with some of the features. but i like

and works way better than other modpacks that did only the copy and paste / overwrite from their previous modpack itaration which is now the reason my pc keeps crashing if i try those modpacks

Those will be the base ones, as well as adding Communist governments and renaming Shared Burdens to Communism.

The effects will probably be changed for vanilla civics.

So the fanatic variants are the same as base ones?
I think nationalist zeal should be changed to a flag icon, because it seems more appropiate.

So this is what I will need to make:
- Collectivist (I'm think something like the adaptable/conservationist symbol)
- Individualist (A single pop icon maybe)
- Multicultural (Not sure)
- Indutrialist (Gears)
- Imperialist (Crossed swords over planet sounds good)
- Isolationist (Not sure)
As well as orange recolours for all the above, as well as base enviromentalist and nationalist?

The effects of those two base civics should be changed, and currently -10% consumer goods usage is pretty weak.

No 14, because they all need Fanatic variants, Nationalist (Nationalistic Zeal) and Environmentalist are base game, so they only need Fanatic variants. You will only make 6 icons, 8 will be orange Fanatic reskins.

Multiculturalist (Fanatic Nationalist)
Industrialist (Fanatic Environmentalist)

Ok, just message me the civics and I'll make something that fits. Making something orange is hard since the templates have a slight colour gradient which I can easily do if I have a hexagon shape, but not with a circle, which the ethics are. I should be able to do it though.

You dont have to do Nationalist and Environmentalist either, just the Fanatic variants.

As for what the icons are, I don't really care, as long as they look good.

Yeah, I don't like tedious work, but if you do it I need a total of 16 icons, with 8 being reskins of the previous 8.

My idea is to include ideology civics as lesser ethics basically, with things like Nationalistic Zeal being Nationalist and then an orange version being Fanatic Nationalist. Same with Environmentalist/Industrialist, Collectivist/Individualist, etc etc

I might make a few civic icons, all I really need to know is how big are the files, because the ones on the stellaris wiki are different then the ones on my computer. I play on low graphics settings because I have a crappy 4GB ram laptop, so that might change it. The rest, such as making the icons (mostly just collaging together bits of other stellaris icons to keep the vannila aesthetic) will just be a few hours of somewhat tedious work.

@Ackoli, I'm just really not in the mood to mod, but if you can make icons I'll make some more civics and governments for them and add you as an author. If you want I can tell you the plans for this mod in detail through chat.

How big are the files? The game files say 29x29, the wiki says 50x50 or 58x58. Is it dependant on my graphics setting?

The sprites are only 50x50 pixels so even if it's hard I can just manually edit the pixels. I might do this over the weekend, as I have nothing to do.

What I think is a good idea is to make some templates for different colours (such as for hive minds and megacorps) and get bits of sprites from already existing civics (for example a test tube on the technocracy civic) and use these to make civics, and use the current tools to add some original designs.

Yeah I've used paint.net before to try to make icons, but I suck at it and it took forever. I'm fine with doing tedious coding, but doing tedious artwork is another thing.

Civic icons are just the (usually) blue hexagon with the thing in the middle right?

If you find a sprite for one of them and simply edit out the icon in the middle using paint.net you can have an easy template, and you can use shape tools in paint as well as clipart and static icons found on the internet to add the custom icon.

The hardest part will probably be converting the files in the game. I tried to do this once and never could figure out how to actually transfer that weird file type into an editable type such as a .png

I need new civic icons because I'm not using art from other mods this time. Currently, my idea is to add a couple new governments, ideology civics (there's like 16 I think), and modify some existing localization.

Coding is not the problem civics are easy to code and the only bad thing about governments is random names which is why this mod created weird stuff in 2.1.
