There's one linked at the end of the description, on Insurgency anims. But I will definitely revisit this/these mod(s) and made alternative versions.

you probably dont take requests or inactive but is there a possibility you could make your own rendition of this mod but adding the concept m4 to the sg552 i already know theres one on the workshop but i got your concept mp5 i just wanna complete the set :3 hope the feedback helps even though its 3 years old :>

early shooting, I can't look at how he still doesn't have time to pick up a machine gun and shooting is already starting, it hurts my eyes, but I can't find anything better to replace it

Opening up the covers isn't hard at all. Unless the texture is baked in a way that has static shadows or something.

In that case, if you want to keep them for consistency, then just see if you can find an Aimpoint model with them at least fully opened so they lie more flat on top of the optic. Personally I think changing it to a model without the lens covers would work best and isn't really taking too many liberties for accuracy but that's just me.

That is most likely. Considering the MP5 from the posters/concept arts seems to be based on a Tokyo Marui MP5 RAS model complete with an Aimpoint, the M4 might also be an airsoft gun they used for posing.

But I'm thinking closing the lens covers would get more complaints than keeping them open. Hm, might do that funny thing with the custom "addonModel" that has the stock collapsed and covers closed when it's on a Survivor's back...

Considering you can't ADS with it anyway, you could use also use an Aimpoint model that just has the lens covers closed. Yeah it'll look kinda weird. But *technically* it makes sense since your character doesn't use it, and it's more accurate to the posters.

For what its worth, I'm like 90% sure the posters that feature it are just edited versions of photos done for the game. In this case I guarantee you the people posing for the shoot just forgot to open the lens covers for the photo but it stuck when it came time for final editing.

An update is in progress, so that's a point of consideration. I specifically used a model with lens covers as they're seen on concept art images and posters, except closed.

This mod would be perfect if the lens covers were either removed or fully opened and laid flat on top of the scope. As it stands it just takes up a little more screen real estate then I would like. Otherwise good mod.

So, after much searching, I came to the conclusion that most SG552 mods had their animations changed, but this SCAR/M16 swapper is even closer to what I need:

Hm. No, this very definitely is not what was in my mind. I remember there being an edited M16 L4D2 animation, where there is a notable and sensible pause between mag out and mag in.

Those might end up looking nice. I think i'd personally still prefer the L4D1 animations, however, if you think you could make the L4D1/2 ones work it'd probably be better for most general load orders that don't use mostly L4D1 animations like mine and would be a great replacement for a good deal of people.

There was an SG552 mod on L4D1/2 animations or something that uses edited reload of the L4D2 M16. I will try that one out.

True, they are slow, but unfortunately the SG552 is just a really slow weapon. Maybe i'm biased because I've also been using the Lt. Rocky Desert Rifle for years, but to me it still manages to capture that natural feel of the L4D1 animations, albeit a bit sluggishly. To me it seems like the best option. Even if you used the L4D1/2 anims the only one that would fit without much modification would be the M16 one, and even then the M16 is significantly faster than the SG552 so you'd kind of be back at square one with it being a slowed down animation, wouldn't you?

From everything I can gather the difference between the Scar/Desert Rifle and SG552's reload time is very minimal, a factor of .1 seconds/2 frames. If you used Lt. Rocky's L4D1 Desert Rifle animations as a basis, theoretically would that allow the timing to not be fucked?

I might grab one of those edited L4D1/2 anims for the update. I used INS ones because of the length, as you don't really want to see a slow motion L4D1 reload.

I've tried to make the port myself, numerous times in fact, but I just can't seem to wrap my head around exactly how to do it. I've come close, but there's always some kind of issue when it comes to recompiling. I don't know if my issues are being caused by my inexperience, or some kind of issue relating to the initial decompiling process, but I unfortunately just can't seem to get it to work. The deploy and reload seem to be either broken or misbehaving whenever I've tried.

Idk if you'll read these or even care, but i'd hate to see something this cool never see the light of day. Until then, I suppose i'll keep using the Insurgency one and trying my hand at it. (2/2)

I think it's super creative trying to bring one of the weapons only seen in the game's art into the actual game itself. This is probably one of my favorite weapon ideas on the workshop. That being said, i'd love to see a version of this on the SG552. I think it's a perfect fit for the weapon given it's scope functionality and similarities to the M16 in both gameplay function and general aesthetic. Due to these similarities i'd even suggest you utilize some of the M16's sound events if you were to take this up again. I know you've already made a port to the SG552, and I've been using it myself for at least a year, but the problem is that the only version on the SG552 available is using the Insurgency animations. These animations are cool, but they feel stiff and out of place when alongside the rest of the weapons in my opinion. This is something even more apparent and distracting for me considering I almost exclusively use L4D1 or L4D1 blended animations in my current addon list. (1/2)
