Stone quay - Fenced

@coew: Normal quay behaviour. When there's no water side the game can't tell which side should be where. The Upgrade Quay mod had an option to reverse direction but unfortunately the mod seems to have disappeared. There's nothing I can do about it sorry.

So unfortunately unusable for me because the fence randomly switches sides with no ability to change it back. Other than that it looks great.

If anyone doubts that your quay works, here's a picture. I use the vanilla gravel pathway. I hope people realize that you have to attract citizens with some place they want to go. They will not walk the quay randomly.

I used it exclusively when I created the GRAND CANAL map. The quay runs for miles.

@High_Mike: You need to connect pedestrian paths to them so citizens can get there. They don't connect like to another path, but similar to how paths connect to roads. Just place a path near it and it will make a connection. Here's how it looks:

I read Walkable quay but citizens wont walk on it. How should I do?

ok, thanks for the info
Avanya  [yaratıcı] 29 Mar 2020 @ 1:48
@小饰 Yes, you need to place a path to connect it to a road

I like this wharf corridor very much. Now it has finally realized the function of sidewalk. Thank you! But I have a question, do I need to connect the sidewalk?
Avanya  [yaratıcı] 19 Mar 2020 @ 13:10
Yeah, they all do it sadly.
Solo 19 Mar 2020 @ 12:59
actually, the default quay shows the same behaviour, if you look closely, one side is a bit darker, but with the default quay it isn't a problem as both sides are almost similar
Solo 19 Mar 2020 @ 12:56
ok, thanks for the info :)
Avanya  [yaratıcı] 19 Mar 2020 @ 12:45
@Peaky Blinder: Yeah, this is sadly one issue with them, especially when not placed on a coastline. If you use Move It, grabbing the nodes and moving them just a tiny bit usually gets it to behave. Alternately delete the parts that are the wrong way and redraw them the opposite way.

I'm still hoping to bribe a modder to make a mod, so we can flip direction on them like with roads, but for the time being we're stuck with how they behave.

When I place the fenced stone quay the fence sometimes is on one side, sometimes on the other side ... it seems to be totally randomly, I tried for at least 2 hours to figure out how to make sure it's always on same side ... any advise would be welcome ... I am out of ideas ... thx in advance :)

@Oistoy: I placed it where the game will allow it and then moved it closer to the quay with the Move It mod. It takes a little time and patience to do, but I like the result much more than with the gap. :)

@Kean3r: That's because it isn't in the roads category. ;) It's in Landscaping --> Water structures where the default quay is also found. :)
Kean3r 25 Şub 2019 @ 11:54
I cant seem to find asset under roads tab?!
AmiPolizeiFunk 24 Eyl 2018 @ 12:46
awwwwwesome. been having a lot of fun last couple of days working with your variety of quays :medkit:
Avanya  [yaratıcı] 24 Eyl 2018 @ 10:41
@AmiPolizeiFunk: Not yet, but there will be.
AmiPolizeiFunk 24 Eyl 2018 @ 1:01
is there a fence prop or network by itself for extended detailing?
oleg.gorchakov.2014 12 Haz 2018 @ 8:23
Nevertheless, your embankments scored 4 stars rating
oleg.gorchakov.2014 12 Haz 2018 @ 8:21
I was also reproached that pedestrians can't walk. Here are my embankments: https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1269015249 and also https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1268525917
Avanya  [yaratıcı] 3 Haz 2018 @ 2:21
@oleg.gorchakov.2014: No, the quay AI doesn't support it.
oleg.gorchakov.2014 3 Haz 2018 @ 0:55
Any embankment is valuable only because pedestrians can walk on it. Can your waterfront walking pedestrians?
Horny Squidward 3 Haz 2018 @ 0:22
amazing! thanks
Onomis 1 Haz 2018 @ 13:48
That looks reeaally nice!
Avanya  [yaratıcı] 1 Haz 2018 @ 7:32
@sevasson: I have no intentions of more versions for now. I'll make fenced versions for the 2 missing it and then that's it. I can keep making slightly different versions from now until the last player quits the game and still not have made every variation people want. ;)
sevasson 1 Haz 2018 @ 7:22
Great, your job is awesome :D

But I hope you will release a version which uses the pavement texture from our map theme, and also the tiered version :)
Meteor Daddy 30 May 2018 @ 10:46
Oh well, game limitations..
Avanya  [yaratıcı] 30 May 2018 @ 1:14
@Mochimoko: I can't. Not without getting weird terrain glitches. The quays cover up the different height of the terrain, so they can't be super thin.
Meteor Daddy 29 May 2018 @ 21:34
Hi Avanya, hope you can create thinner quays for small ponds or lakes. Another awesome job
Elias 29 May 2018 @ 2:23
thanx avanya. it's a delight, how much useful and/or pretty stuff you give us. this in particular was something i always missed, as someone living nearby three rivers.
