@dnking21 there seems to be an incompatibility with any mod that modifies the rotation or behaviour of trees in game, try and uninstall these mods, also try the mod compatibility checker mod and take a look at the Autorepair.log file in your Cities_Data folder, that might shed some light on the issue.

Worked first time I started a game. Now it doesn't. I tried bringing the slier to the maximum and then to the minimum. No difference. Too bad, because it's a great feature. I installed some DLCs in the meantime so maybe unsubscribing and resubscribing will help?

late answer, but yes. random tree rotation kicks in while initialising a game. it will newly randomise all tree rotation at every game start, it will not save the roation.
as far as i know.

@Fronto you can check your wind in your map. Darker the area stronger the wind. Also building places around influences that so even on a hill tree which is placed between 2 buildings should not sway much. Wind simulation is relatively accurate in this game :D

I think that maybe because they were all swaying about too much all the time, I just assumed it was a dumb animation.

100s of hours in the game and I never noticed the altitude factor until I tweaked trees at ground level with your mod and then noticed the ones on a hill were moving more!

they sway based on wind, on top of hills wind is stronger so they sway more.

Very nice. I wouldn't have thought I would like this as much as I do.

Question: Now I find myself looking at the swaying trees, I would swear that altitude is a factor. The ones on top of a hill seem to sway more than the ones much lower! Is this a thing, or have I had too much coffee?

"Mid range trees not being affected" bug should be fixed. I also made distant trees be affected by slider setting when Stop Distant Trees checkbox is un-checked.
