Actually not 3 but 15 ( in rankings: a mod with 30 upvotes will be ranked higher than 44 ups and 1 down) and 2 for star number: mod will get 4 stars if there is 27 up, 1 down; or 29 up , 2 down and so on.

It doesn't even fully compensate for that. Downvotes count more than upvotes do. I think it takes 3 upvotes to cancel out a downvote.

I see it as compensation for the people who go on downvote streaks on the workshop

@Leo3ABP: So? Am I not allowed to feel good about something I made? I spent somewhere between 15 and 20 hours making these 5 packs and the empty trailer. You're damn right I'm gonna pad myself on the shoulder and say "good job". If I wasn't proud of what I make, I wouldn't be here sharing my stuff. ;)

@Leo3ABP: Because I think I did a good job! Actually when I'm doing a bunch of uploads in one go I also use it sort of as a check mark to let myself know it's ready to be made visible. I jump back and forth them a lot copying parts of descriptions, adding pictures, adding them to collections, adding required items (none this time) and so on. It's handy to have a little way of marking it as ready while finishing the others.

But also - why would I not upvote my own stuff? That's like someone running for something and not voting for themselves. Ofc I want my stuff to be seen by players, that's the whole point of sharing it here and not just making it for myself. ;)
