September 20, 2022 - Season 7, Episode 1: A New Dawn

  • Mod code updated for Stellaris 3.5.

  • Aquatics and Toxoids are now fully compatible with NSC2.

  • The Escort Carrier ship class has been removed. The Battlecruiser now has a Light Carrier upgrade option to replace the separate class. The old Escort Carrier tech has been renamed to the Light Carrier upgrade and should become available after Battlecruisers.

  • The Freebooters content has been removed from the main mod and will be separated into a standalone mod. A link will be provided on this page when it is finished and uploaded.

  • The Drop Pods feature has been removed along with the Escort Carrier. Instead, vanilla transports are now Assault Transports and can be designed and armed. For now, they will have 3 sections available that are the same loadouts as the Cruiser mid sections. This will be expanded upon in future updates.

  • All ship classes except the Exploration Cruiser have completely new weapon/utility loadouts using a new balance formula.

  • Strike Craft can now be carried on different classes: Cruisers (1 Hangar), Battlecruisers (8 Hangars with Light Carrier Upgrade), Battleships (4 Hangars), Carriers (16/20/24 Hangars), Titans (10 Hangars), and the Flagship (Up to 70 Hangars)

  • A new Fleet Mothball feature has been introduced into the mod. This allows the player to "mothball" fleets, deactivating them and reducing their maintenance cost until they're needed for emergencies. Simply place a fleet in orbit of an owned planet and mothball it using the Decisions panel in the Planetary view. It can be reactivated in the same way.

  • All starbases now take 360 days to upgrade to their next level, to hopefully solve a random bug where starbases disappear after upgrading.

  • Defense Stations and Fortresses have been removed since there are no models for them for the newer species packs. At this time, only Defense Platforms are available, however these will be redesigned and upgradable to higher levels with more weapons in a future update. Platforms have had their base HP increased from 5000 to 10000 to temporarily compensate for the loss of the bigger stations.

  • Empires may now only build 10 Exploration Cruisers in total.

  • Added new outliner icons for the NSC2 Megastructures.

  • Fixed a bug where Maurauder Cruisers had the Science Ship icon in the system view.

  • Fixed a bug where the Galactic Hospital model was missing.

  • Fixed a bug where the HP of a Stellar Stronghold was less than the Grand Citadel.

  • The Carrier class can now equip the Carrier Command & Control Network special component, which increases the damage, fire rate, and speed of all Strike Craft by 25%.

  • Removed the Archaeology Lab component from the Exploration Cruiser because its modifier is not working in the game.

  • Modders: All NSC2 asset files have been reworked and combined into a single file for each species. All deprecated ship sections that Paradox stopped using a long time ago have been removed from NSC2 and all ship classes now only use active vanilla ship sections.

  • Fixed a major bug that was not allowing Auto Explore to be used on Science Ships.

  • Fixed a bug where Fallen Empire ships were not equipping all of their weapon slots. (FE Ships have been reverted to vanilla for now, they'll likely be improved in NSC3)

  • Fixed a bug where the Destroyer could not use the Precog Picket Computer.

  • Fixed a reported bug where the Starbase AI building was available to build before the proper tech was researched.

  • Fixed missing localisation for one of the Juggernaut sections.

  • Fixed a bug where the Cruiser Missile Core section was appearing twice.

  • Fixed a localisation error that was causing the Cruiser Volley Bow to be called a Missile Bow.

  • Fixed some reactors being allowed on the wrong ship classes.

  • Fixed some thrusters not being allowed on the correct ship classes.

  • Fixed a bug where starbases, particularly outposts, had such rapid regeneration that they were nearly indestructible. This was from an old defines edit that never worked and we forgot to delete until it was suddenly fixed in 3.4 and caught us a bit off guard.

  • Fixed some missing NSC2 ship class icons in the system view.

  • Fixed a bug where ship build limits were not working properly. (All ship limits have been returned as they were before 3.4)

  • Increased the Flagship reactor power levels to 35000/60000/95000 to help with other mods adding high power component options.

  • Special Note: The issue with starbase shield modules not adding to the base's shields is a vanila bug and has been reported to Paradox.

  • Special Note: The bug where some weapons are firing from the star is not an NSC2 issue, that is an issue with whatever ship models are being used.

  • And finally, for those who are reporting this NSC2 page to Steam for no valid reason - Paradox is aware that this is happening and is disposing of those reports as they come in. You're wasting your time (but they can see the Steam name of each person who filed a false report, as an FYI).

  • Fixed a bug in Freebooters where the Khan was not appearing properly.

  • Fixed a typo that made the Strategic Coordination Center unbuildable.

  • Removed a couple of duplicated NSC2 special weapons.

  • Removed the ability for the Flagship to have evasion (it should not be able to evade anything given its size and power).
