Description

GEI Enforcer-Class Destroyer

100% Mod-Free

Created On Stable Branch

The Enforcer-Class Destroyer is the first generation of GEI's set of warships. Designed to be a support destroyer, its main goal is to flank heavily armored targets and destroy their main propulsion system and any other vital systems onboard the target. Equipped with a bombardment system, it can also target ground units on any planet or moon with natural gravity. The crew can rest assure that the Enforcer is supplied with everything needed for long flights Including rest areas, medical room, shower/toilet hybrid stall, Cryogenic Chambers and a hanger. Because of the Enforcers included living habitat, it can also be used as a civilian based ship once all primary weapons are disabled to meet GAP standards (Global Arms Protocol.)

IMPORTANT: Make sure the Merge Blocks for the Bombardment system are set to "Share with All" or else it will not work!

The design looks great, but the survivability agains "large caliber" arms is, for a deastroyer, acceptable. With a little more plating you could effectively protect some vulnerable areas =) Have you tested this yourself, and deemed the tradeoff not to be worth it?
The planetary bombardement is really a nice and rare feat for any ship. Generally, I am really surprised how agile that light destroyer is. Like a big fighter with benefits.

@jonnytaco Exactly! Sure, lots of weapons are nice, but I've always enjoyed light, quick little ships. Sure, this destroyer doesn't live up to a super destroyer or the death star, but it's purpose stays the same and will continue to stay that way. I agree that broadside is a just a bad tactic when it comes to attacking an enemy ship. You expose too much of your ship making yourself an easier target and exposing vital systems to direct fire. Currently, I don't have the best PC in the world and cant go any bigger without suffering from major FPS and Sim speed decreases.

Anyhow, thanks for the comment! ^^

I think she's nice @Extevious-V. You're 100% spot on about not needing a ton of turrets too so long as you lay them out with a particular firing arch in mind. In the case of this ship all of the turrets can fire forward which is perfect considerings it's frontal firepower. Broadsiding is silly anyway imo :X.

You'd be surprised how long this ship lasted for against a crusier with 8 Missile turrets, and like 15 gatling turrets... Like I stated, its for flanking manuvers, that is why in the first place it has 9 rocket launchers forward mounted.

@MAMPF(GER) I do not agree with your statement about how the ship is shit. Not all ships require mass ammounts of weaponry nor do they require to meet all standards of the class they have been assigned to (Eg; Destroyer). In many wars across the world, there would be specific inventions used to counter other enemy devices. Some seriously simple ideas like gas masks to counter gas gernades. The list goes on and on, but the purpose behind the Enforcer is purly to out manuver a heavly armed target, destroy the vital systems onboard, then get the heck out of there.
