Description
INTRODUCTION
The AS Kems is an Interstellar colony ship made by AAi, with 3 drop ship's that are technically small flying station capable to land and travel on any planet and satellite (but not able to escape it's gravity).







PROJECT BASICS

First thing:

So, to be honest building an asymetric ship is like to build a station with thrusters... that was the first critic I did to my self starting this project. In fact, the ship should act at the end of it's long trip to another solar system as floating station orbiting some alien or earth-like planet. It helped me having this in mind. Because it's my personal opinion that each project must have a start and an end. For this kind of ship it's lifespan can't finish once arrived to another planet. And in my reasonings asymetric design played a great role.

Second thing:

Glass it's so fragile, and it's everywhere!!
The very experienced players know that glass is all but fragile, it's caracteristics are close to light armor blocks, but it's weight is a bit less than light armor blocks. Despite the ship dimensions (mostly, it's lenght) since I didn't want to have it bigger but just airy on the various passages, glass was the only way to obtain a good compromise in between the "good looking" and it's structural integrity.

Third thing:

I wanted an automated docking/undocking airtight system for it's 3 drop ship's... that was the challenging part. In my MK-1 version drop-ship's were full of rotor's and also the solars of the AS Kems were manouverable via rotors... Unfortunately playing with a friend in MP I discovered that the same system that was very stable in SP was made of explodium in multiplayer... so I did to revamp the whole thing because of that.
Now you can enjoy the part of getting into a drop ship, press button 1 on the quickbar, and see everything that was idle, taking life: airtight hangars retracting, o2 tanks stopping stockpiling it's precious oxygen, oxygen farm turning on and then: TACK! the drop-ship is detached, you have the control... the planet is so beautiful down there... let's go!

AS KEMS - KNOWN ISSUES
  • Once the drop-ship is detached if the player exit from it's pilot seat too soon, the quickbar with the premade layout will reset itself to "empty" (KSH bug probably)
  • Once the drop-ship is detached it loses it's blueprint name changing it on a random "Large Grid 1234" (KSH bug probably)
  • MMASTER lcd wont start after pasting (since it's set to trigger itself), use the timer you will fin on the command compound pilot seat (the only available on the quickbar to start them once and for all).

I have it downloaded but I don't see it on the blueprints I even resub but nope I like the ship tho

Just swap them out for the newer variant. Automatic lcd should be simple to fix, and there are plenty of airlock /door scripts out there
