Railway Tunnel 4-Track

Description
Connect your entrenched railroads with underground lines or sunken stations. Also works well wherever you need extra space for diagonal roads and major avenues: you can just build on top.

This asset has been moved to the Public Transportation tab. It's now compatible with Extra Landscaping Tools.

An in-depth guide on how you can build below-ground networks using terraform tools and assets:
http://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=546535326

You need the Terraform Tool to lower/raise the ground, otherwise they will just sit on top of your terrain. None of the tracks are actually underground, they are simply placed one level below the rest of your city. If you are familiar with other sunken / elevated assets, I think you will feel right at home. :)

I recommend rerouting your trains first, flattening a large area (-12m or more) and placing roads as guides. Attach the walls to the roads and reserve space for any bridges. Now replace the roads with railways. You can zone and build roads up to 1 cell from the edge. Residences will happily pop up next to your newly lowered tracks...

- Tunnel transition may not look so good, terrain gaps may occur when overlapping bridges or roads. It can be fixed but you have to tweak it.

this is incompatible with parklife DLC's new mod "parkify", would you please change it to other types of asset please?

Would love to use it, but I just don't get the rails into ground without increasing the ground above (by do a very short paint). If I paint a long part into ground, cities lowers the ground around a create an ugly full length railway tunnel entrance behind your tunnel. Have you ever had such a behavior?

Had trouble installing tunnel entrances with the last patch and new inbuilt terrain tools. Found setting the tool strength to 50 and it works perfectly.

May I ask you for making a wider tunnel for 6-lane roads? This tunnel and her sister fit 2-lane and 4-lane roads very well. Maybe we shouldn't let 6-lane roads be too lonely:steamhappy:

graffiti -> 1+

Definitly need more "run down" assets for that industrial / urban vibe. Citys are too clean for my taste atm.

can you make something for a sunken highway?

Graffiti -> +1

Graffiti is a cool idea, though that might better work as a prop (the texture for this is just one concrete sheet). It could be more clean yes, I figured some weathering would make it look more used up / underground.

Awesome work again! Maybe add some graffiti next time? Either that or nicer, cleaner looking concrete would be awesome. The best would be to match the walls of Boformer's sunken station.
