Description
So this is my first collection of modded assets for Cities:Skylines - it's a modular power station. It includes a coal-powered furnace and chimney, a turbine hall, cooling towers and also a set of coal-heaps and a coal conveyor, for delivering coal to the furnace. I've also added Petreak's Electricity Substation to this collection, because it really works great for distributing power from the turbine halls to your power grid. Whilst I'm mentioning other artists' work, my coal heaps use Hest's excavator props. Thanks to both these creators!

All the lots in this collection function as (coal powered) power stations/power plants. I've adjusted the stats from the stock vanilla power plant, so that each of my lots emphasises a different need. For example, the furnace produces waste (burnt coal) whilst the turbine hall and cooling towers require water (to produce steam). Also, the turbine hall requires skilled workers - this is where engineers would be based in a real power station!

Some units *will* run low on coal from time-to-time - particularly the small coal heap. I wanted to give the impression of an on-demand supply chain, which can sometimes get choked up. If your city requires a large steady power supply, I have several tips: First, build a second turbine hall. This is the most advanced, high-powered, stable unit in the collection. Second, make sure you build your coal-heaps and cooling towers over several in-game 'weeks'. This will ensure that deliveries are spread over that whole period.

Final thing to note, the coal conveyor is an overlapping lot. You must build it against a road (I prefer a gravel service road). The end of the conveyor is intended to go next to the excavators props on the coal heaps. The engine shed of the conveyor is intended to go alongside, or even overlap, the furnace building.

I see this as a starting-point rather than a finished project - I hope that others will add modular power station units of their own. Some things I/others might want to add in the future: A nuclear reactor hall (to replace the coal power); a spoil-heap (for disposing of waste coal); a coal-train delivery yard.

Please, leave your comments below - and if you like my work, 'like' it too ;)

Oh - and everything is super low-poly - in the hundreds, not thousands, of tris.
