Sapphire Coast

Based on heightmaps from the Trincomalee area in northeastern Sri Lanka, one of the largest natural harbours in the world. The map takes it's name from the renowned Sri Lankan sapphires.

The map itself is centered around the natural harbour. With it's tropical climate, vulcanic activity and strange elongated geological formations every oppurtunity to create an interesting and scenic city is in place.

The map is filled with resources and almost all outside connections. The initial challenge consists of deciding to what tile you expand, do you go for more outside connections? Or do you go for the bay in the north and get rid of waste in the waters of the harbour? Or do you go for something else?


The map is probably quite playable with only 9 tiles, you might miss out on some outside connections. But I suggest using a 25-tile mod.
