Sim City 3000 Power Plant Set [6/6]
6 items
Description
A SC3000 Microwave Power Plant homage. Completely rebuilt and reimagined; supported by Andreas and Stoloss' interpretation of the SC2000's BAT for the German SFBTers at simforum.de!

With the help of Steamuser Wintermote; a Microwave Power Plant with realistic attributes.

Grid size: 4x4
Cost: 100.000
Maintenance: 288 / week
Provides: 20 MW
Needs: 80 m3 / week of water and waste

It's MUCH more prone to fire hazard and may accidentally explode at some point.

In case you have any screenshots, please send them to me! I'd love some more variation in the slideshow! :)

The original Microwave Power Plant can be found here:

(I'd recommend getting both. They're different enough to count as separate energy providers... but of course, I would say that.)

It may be true for all other SC3000 assets but I only use this one atm so I don't know:

1) it's a minor thing but the building has no description. Imho it breaks the feeling that it is part of the game, as it doesn't follow the same presentation rules as the rest of it.

2) the SC3000 Microwave plant is unlocked from the start, which is kinda nonsensical. It would make sense for it to be unlocked at the same time as the Solar Power Plant (so Grand City), or at least like the Dam (so Small City).

I also see that the last of your comment is from 2015 on this thread so I just hope you see this. Nice asset otherwise, big fan of SimCity3000 and this one fits nicely in CS even with the style difference between both games. :cozyspaceengineersc:

BayneRav@ You should have been careful for what you wished for because the actual forest fires are a pain in the ass

20Mw Ill think for 100k should produce close to 150Mw the upkeep is the main strong point as powerplants no matter how much abuse take, do not deteriate over time. Maybe CO will incorperate a such patch yet doubt it will stand up or even be popular 50 Years and Coal will be decomishoned or be more prone to hazards... such as with the Microwave it has the off chance of a satelite beam missing the dish and starting a fire... I know its all superficial yet was it ever interesting seeing a random fire in the forests!

just postpone building it, nothing is forcing your hand to not build it... just like its the year 2015 yet it did not get invented til need to wikia it yet thats why its all choice... So the Realistic is smaller? Hmm make both as the 680Mw original seems cool too

it should definitely unlock *after* nuclear fission (or even require the space elevator to complete), and the initial cost could be much lower (but this really doesn't matter). Other than that I think it is perfect :)

I think 100k is way overpriced for the measly 20MW it puts out, I could place 1 advanced windmill for the same power output but 10% the cost.
