Night Blade, for Cordelia

Description
This adds Night Blade, an ebony dagger with a deep red blade, the malevolent creation of an ancient vampire. Night Blade bestows upon its owner the ability to calm their victims, and when the moons are out, steals their very life force.

Night Blade is found on the master vampire's nightstand, at Broken Fang Cave, off the main road between Whiterun and Rorikstead. It can be tempered at any forge, with the appropriate (ebony smithing, arcane blacksmith) perks, and can be disenchanted to learn the absorb health enchantment.

Cleaned with TESVedit.

You had me at "(still have the textures)". I'm honestly fine with just having the dagger w/o the calming effect. Again, I'm in it for the look, not the spook.

And by spook, I mean the calming effect. :P

Running into a problem. Since I've had a new PC, my scripts are gone, along with my notes on how I did it. (not a script pro at all). I could throw together a red dagger (still have the textures) but you'd lose the calming effect. How are you with creation kit? Literally a less-than-a-minute fix, if you can get into the weapon form. You want to find NightBlade, change Enchanting to "none" and Enchantment to "0". Save, close, and play, and you should find it unenchanted, but with the calming effect still intact. Then you can dual-enchant as you normally would.

I can get you some tutorials, to help you get into the weapon form, if need be. Not sure what your skill level is.

Well maybe you could create another mod where it's just the dagger w/o the enchantment and have the ench. on another item or something? :P It's that I ADORE the look of the red glowing Ebony Dagger!

You can't add enchantments to an already enchanted item, even with the perk. That only allows you to put two new enchantments on an unenchanted item. For instance, if you were to disenchant/destroy this, to learn the absorb health enchantment, you could then place it and a second enchantment onto something new. You'd lose the calming power of this one, though.

Hey, BTW, I can't seem to add any enchantments to it via the 2x enchantment perk. :steamsad: What's up with that?

It'll be different, depending on any other mods you may have.

Best bet is use console, type

help "night blade"

and it should come up. Because of multiple word search, make sure to include the quotes.

Hey, jreese46? What's the base ID for the Night Blade?

Rharkin, just click "subscribe" above. Then, when you start your game, and the small start screen comes up, give it a bit of time to download. It will say that it's finished downloading/updating mods at the bottom of that small screen. Click "Data Files" and make sure the mods are there, and checked, and then you should be good to go.
