📊 CRC Operator’s Notes: Skill Ranking Guides
Listen up, survivors — skills can tip the odds, but never forget: you start every deployment at Level 1, same as the rest of us. Gear, grit, and good judgment get you through the meat grinder, not some shiny badge on your dossier.

That said, a few community tacticians have put together their own skill tier lists based on personal experience, biases, and how the meta felt to them at the time. Take it for what it is — field opinions, not gospel.

🧟‍♂️ What is No More Room in Hell 2?
This game is a tactical fusion of classic No More Room in Hell 1 and Resident Evil Outbreak.

What does that mean?

You’ll be scavenging essential supplies — to use, trade, or share with your squad — to boost your survival chances. The goal: solve puzzles and complete objectives with your team, pushing steadily toward extraction. 🤝🔧

For the Resident Evil fans out there, especially those who know RE2’s 4th Survivor (Hunk), you’ll recognize the feel immediately.

"This is a Hunk Simulator" — JAA_007

Your loadout is limited; you deploy with only what’s essential. Using all your resources too early is a fast track to failure. You must stay sharp — navigate smartly, dodge threats, loot efficiently, manage your gear carefully, and engage only when necessary. Each step forward is tactical progress toward your extraction point. 🧭💥

For operational examples, review these tactical runs:

🔎 Obscure Tips and Advice from JAA_007
🔎 Obscure Tips and Advice from JAA_007
This is NOT NMRIH 1 — it’s a hybrid.
NMRIH2 blends the core DNA of No More Room in Hell 1 with Resident Evil Outbreak. You still need to work together and cover each other — but the pace is faster, and the risk needs to be measured carefully. Carry your teammates, yes, but know when to push forward with purpose. ⚔️⏩

Handle explosives with care.
Explosives cause significant friendly fire damage to the user (up to 100%), and while teammates only take about 10% damage, that’s enough to down or severely weaken them. The blast radius is wider than it looks — stay alert and keep your distance. 💥⚠️

Infection triggers below 50% health.
Confirmed by developers in the infection update/video: if your health drops below half, your chances of infection rise drastically. Manage your health carefully — healing isn’t just about survival, it’s about preventing infection. 🩸🦠

Cancel melee swings to conserve stamina.
You can cancel an ongoing swing by pressing the opposite attack button. This is critical for conserving stamina so you can reposition or run when things get hairy.

Holding Left Click? Tap Right Click to cancel.

Holding Right Click? Tap Left Click to cancel.

Holding L2? Tap R2 to cancel.

Holding R2? Tap L2 to cancel.

Note: This mechanic is still being tested, but it’s a handy trick for survival.

Infection may occur even without recent hits.
There’s a slim chance you can get infected from environmental factors — possibly from lingering airborne infection particles — especially when below 50% health. I’ve experienced infection about 5 minutes after last damage without further hits, suggesting the game calculates infection risk over time.

If anyone has more intel on this, please share to help the community build stronger situational awareness. 📡🤝

Use zombie heads to soften your fall.
In a pinch, zombie heads can help break your fall — an unconventional trick that can save your health in dangerous drops. 💀⬇️

💀 Nightmare Mode Farming Intel: Expert Tips from Your CRC Advisor 🎯
📍 Let’s start with something easy but daunting for new members of the CRC

🛑 Pottsville Civilian Rescue Operation

Complete Both Gates Past the Community Center
Successfully clearing both gates beyond the Community Center yields 200 Account XP per run. This makes it one of the most reliable early farming objectives on Nightmare difficulty. Focus on efficient gate unlocking while minimizing unnecessary fights. 🚪✅

Stick Together, But Assign Roles
Coordinate your squad with clear roles: one on gate mechanics, one on covering flanks, and others managing crowd control. Team efficiency reduces risk and increases speed, which is critical for farming runs. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑🎯

Use Stealth and Distraction Tactics
Avoid unnecessary combat. Use silent weapons or distractions to bypass hordes when possible — conserving ammo and stamina is vital on Nightmare mode. Remember, your goal is to survive and extract, not to clear every zombie.

Prioritize Medical Supplies and Ammo
Before heading out, check your load-out and stock up on med-kits and ammo. Nightmare mode punishes mistakes — healing and sustained firepower keep you in the fight longer. 🩹🔫

Exploit Zombie Pathfinding
Zombies in Pottsville have predictable paths near gates and choke points. Use this to funnel them into kill zones or avoid them altogether during the rescue. Positioning is your best friend. 🧟‍♂️🛑

Extraction Point Awareness
Always keep your extraction point in mind. Time is critical on Nightmare — don’t get greedy looting beyond what you can carry or what the mission requires. Get your team to safety efficiently. 🚨🎯

Nightmare Mode Solo/Team Tactics: Per-Map Tactical Breakdown 🎯

Pottsville – Civilian Rescue & Gate Runs 🚧
Squad Play:

Divide roles: Assign some to gate defense while others scout and loot.

Secure both gates beyond the Community Center quickly for 200 XP bonus.

Use callouts for zombie clusters—avoid surprises and friendly fire.

Share healing and ammo to keep everyone in fighting shape.

Solo Play:

Prioritize gates one at a time—clear paths carefully to avoid being overwhelmed.

Use stealth and distractions to slip past zombies and loot efficiently.

Save your healing items and ammo for key moments—do not engage unnecessary fights.

Power Plant – Objective Rush & Resource Control ⚙️
Squad Play:

Assign a fast runner for objectives, while others provide cover and control choke points.
(You both should have faith in one another and if the tide starts to turn voice that and play it safe for all parties involved)

Control power rooms to prevent zombie spawns from overwhelming you.
(Being mindful and either corralling or eliminating and culling a room will help)

Coordinate use of explosives carefully to maximize damage without hurting teammates.
(Should be utilized to coodinate and revive down allies saving an operators life, career, but also the run)

Solo Play:

Focus on one objective at a time, retreat when swarmed.
(you will develop an instinct for this with experience in the field)

Use cover extensively—Power Plant has many tight corridors perfect for funneling zombies.
(use this as a tool to pick off, manage, or evade and lure a horde to then lose you and your team when you make the distance)

Conserve stamina; cancel swings when needed to reposition quickly.
(one cocky move can be your last, so be sure and wager that bet with your life)

Lewiston – Urban Mobility & Safe Extraction 🏙️
Squad Play:

Stick close; urban fights can be chaotic, so maintain visual contact.

Use rooftops and high ground when possible to scout and ambush.
(great to coordinate where you're going and what entry points and your exit strategy if it goes south)

Move as a unit toward extraction to minimize casualties.
(a lot happens in the main street and alley ways)

Solo Play:

Plan extraction routes before engaging; use buildings for cover and vertical advantage.

Avoid open streets unless necessary—zombies have clear line of sight.
(but being swarmed in a alley is a sure fire death, use vehicles to pick off a horde or stragglers, and when stealthy again, land nav the alley ways for short cuts and alternate access ways)

Prioritize looting medkits and ammo along the way to stay prepared.
(if you have scavenger basic or expert you should grab the ammo off shelves and become the armorer and dictate who gets what weapon and how much and who is watching who if not agreed upon) [We don't need anyone greedy or playing favorites, we don't want the guy who could have done something do nothing and we don't want the one man army get downed and lead a army of the undead with the most vital gear for the run]

Additional Nightmare Farming Protocols 🧭
Resource Management: Always carry a balanced loadout; ammo, healing, and boosters are essentials.

Situational Awareness: Keep an eye on team status, listen for audio cues, and watch for infected proximity.

Communication: Even solo players benefit from voice comms if available—call out positions and needs. (Holding the middle mouse MMB displays a wheel for voicelines to quickly communicate in case you can't type)

Adapt & Overcome: No two runs are the same; learn from mistakes and adjust tactics accordingly.

“Where’s my extraction point?” — Remember, getting out alive is the mission, no matter the XP gained. (upon death any objectives completed will count towards your account level)

More refined tips and advanced strategies will be shared as I compile more intel. Stay tuned and share your own tactics to strengthen our community’s survival odds.

📦 Guide for Critical Supplies
Based on the Steam Community Guide: Treasure Hunters (upd. 0.4.1)
https://sp.zhabite.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3477373927

🔍 Overview
In this guide, we'll explore the locations of critical supply items, often referred to as "treasures," across various maps. These items are essential for maximizing your score and ensuring progression and the future survival for your fellow CRC Operators.

Considering how much this can save your entire team including yourself the grind from level 1 fresh operators to seasoned level 50's with others re-rolling, especially with the nightmare multiplier

Here is a few names/terms I use

Operational Term:
Filthy Lucre

Definition:
Any valuable asset — currency, equipment, medical supplies, or ammunition — acquired through morally ambiguous, opportunistic, or hostile means in an active survival environment. Whether it comes from a corpse, a looted civilian residence, or another operative who didn’t make it, it’s still usable material.

Operational Term: Collateral Gain
Definition: Critical medical supplies obtained through opportunistic recovery or battlefield salvage, essential for rapid regeneration, combat endurance, and accelerated progression from rookie to elite operative (Level 1 to Cap 50). These supplies are often recovered under hostile conditions, sometimes without clear authorization, but their tactical value is undeniable.

Field Note:
"This isn’t charity — it’s survival and efficiency. Collateral gain keeps operators in the fight and pushes them to peak performance. Whether scavenged from wreckage or seized from compromised sites, these medical assets fuel progression and preserve combat effectiveness. Handle with precision, distribute with discretion."

Field Note (CRC Advisory):
"Sentiment gets you killed. Out here, resources are finite and hesitation is fatal. Filthy lucre/Collateral Gain isn’t about how you got it — it’s about having it when it counts. If it feeds you, arms you, or keeps you breathing, it’s worth the dirt on your hands. Leave your conscience at the checkpoint. Take what you can, use what you must."

Survival Note: These Items do take up space and will limit your inventory space, so communicate with your team if they need it or if you want to boost your career page with shinier medals (Highest so far is Gold)

🗺️ Map-Specific Locations
Pottsville:

[Early houses, Community center, mid-end streets, shops]

Lewiston:

[alleys, objective building interiors]

Power Plant:

[Open world area on main roads, Objective locations, gates/bridge locations, power plant itself]

Note: The spawn points for these items have remained consistent as of update 0.4.1.

📝 Conclusion
Collecting these critical supplies not only boosts your score significantly but also enhances your team's chances of survival. Familiarize yourself with their locations to optimize your runs.
😎💀Fun Facts

🧬 Gene Therapy QR Code: The Gene Therapy medical supply interface includes a hidden QR code. Scan it, and you get redirected to NMRIH2.com, the official No More Room in Hell 2 site. A neat touch of real-world immersion!

🚤 Cats on the Boat: After completing the boat extraction sequence, keep an eye out at the bottom of the screen—there’s a rare chance a group of cats will be spotted calmly perched on the rowboat. A subtle, eerie reminder that life goes on… even during the apocalypse. 🐱

🧟‍♂️ Dynamic Zombie AI: Zombies in No More Room in Hell 2 react to sound, light, and player movement. Run on certain surfaces in certain areas, or fire a gun, and watch as they converge on your position. Stealth is just as deadly as firepower.

🏗️ Environmental Interaction: You can barricade doors, windows, and other points of entry using items like wooden planks — a key survival mechanic that can turn the tide in tense moments or seal your fate. (No longer needing a hammer or any tool like in the first game)

💀 Permanent Death Mode: The game features a hardcore permadeath mode, meaning if your character dies, they’re gone for good — no respawns, no second chances. Every decision matters.
(But this will be a tad bit altered with upcoming updates)

🎯 Teamwork is Survival: While solo play is possible, cooperation with other survivors dramatically improves your chances. Communicating and sharing resources can mean life or death.

😎 I was part of Team Meepy when he was around 190+ Nightmare runs in and was there when he was the first to reach 1000 Nightmare runs,
An Easter egg graffiti / graphic art hidden in the map will be added to the game to commemorate that fact

💎 Associate Art Director for No More Room in Hell 2 Cenelder
Confirmed that fact as I was in the discord call when that was mentioned
he was also the very one who escalated my reports and pops in to support the community
-
I stayed around and chatted a lot and many times held great nights with everyone and the team within this great community and even when slots were full, great nights of brain storming, conversations, were had and this note was made to highlight this great community

🗿Keep your chin up and stay proactive in aiding everyone, you never know who will make their mark next

Here's to hoping I get a spot as an easter egg in this game, maybe this guide will be somewhere
🐛 Bugs and advice for the unfortunate
Advice here

⚠️ Don't Jump on Stairs (Bank)
Seriously. Ever.

When I was Nightmare 17 I saw people succumb to this fate at extraction

there is a way out, but its pretty demanding/complicated
https://streamable.com/6bzwz0 - Credit goes to Meepy for live time helping new members escape that quick sand pit when it was around

💡 My advice: Don’t jump Bank stairs.

Tip: On the second floor going up the main stairs, take the fire escape door on the right. After opening it, go left — you’ll see a ladder. It’ll be up, but if you jump and interact you can get it to fall, making for a faster, straight extraction on Bank.

🔧 Patch Status: This is allegedly patched

🔄 Account Level Reset

5/9/2025

So I have been hit as well with the bug many days ago and brought it up

I was the second person to ever be hit by this, thanks to the first I archived my data (by taking screen shots and hovering over my account level XP)

So apparently there is a bug where you may spawn with zero Gear

I had that happen on Pottsville and made it out on hard mode

in the end I was greeted with my character and tickets intact but my account level gone

Fix: = Document and archive and bring it up in the report section in pause, or make a support ticket in the official discord, or a post in issue reports on steam forums

I reached out to a developer and this was personally escalated and now a priority as its becoming a more main stream issue

document what you can and report in case it does happen

A wide patch will be happening this weekend starting ideally on 5/10/2025 through that duration

as reported by this main dev that got second hand from a programmer, this patch will Ideally restore people back to their progress before then and hopefully patch the issue

but any XP earned for account at this time will simply be reset to what was earned before, so no XP earned during the XP loss

💾 I can say this for me, but not for you dear viewer, heed my advice and hit F12 and document in your steam screenshots and be ready to share them in case this misfortune falls onto you

lets squash this infection and not let it spread, I got infected for your sake, and like Gene therapy

I will get inoculated and get back into the field just like you :D

so keep a chin up and get out there

🔧 Patch Status: This is allegedly patched

^
📢 Update: 5/10/25

Late tonight I got my account level back up to 55

it isn't 57 but it rolled back a solid but before that fateful day

better than working up those levels again

👏 Huge thanks to the Dev Team.
Use the avenues listed — you will get a response. They’re listening, one day at a time.

Let’s squash these bugs before it spreads. I took the hit so you don’t have to. Gene therapy style. I’ll be back in the field just like you. 😎

Keep your chin up. Get out there.
Opinions on whats coming in future updates
5/12/2025

in the upcoming update new skills are being added (I know they will be simply added to the pool but here is my take) if you like it, upvote and share

“Resident Genes” - Heal whenever using pills
“Lucky Pathogen” - Take less damage while infected
“Doorbreaker” - Kicks deal more damage to doors and barricades

Feel like Skills that should be earned on top of our current skill slots

the first two

“Resident Genes” - Heal whenever using pills
“Lucky Pathogen” - Take less damage while infected

Should be earned one by one after extracting while infected

“Doorbreaker” - Kicks deal more damage to doors and barricades

Should be earned by kicking down doors

otherwise these are subpar skills to pollute the skill pool and will be chosen only if had to

this way it feel fresh and gives reason to care about your character and the work put into it
