You may be familiar with my other templates Skittles Basic Race Template and Skittles Advanced Race Template. Welcome to my stripped down version of this template.

This has been designed for people who may wish to implement a non-playable race that doesn't need all the bells n whistles. This has been stripped back as far as possible while still being a playable race. Why playable? To make it easy to test!

To remove them from character creation screen delete charcreation.config.patch which can be found in \interface\windowconfig.

How to set up:
To turn the STRIPPED_RACE_TEMPLATE_EASY_SETUP.txt into a bat file open it up in your word editor, go Save As, then Save As Type, change that to All Files. Then change the name to STRIPPED_RACE_TEMPLATE_EASY_SETUP.bat

Run the batch file STRIPPED_RACE_TEMPLATE_EASY_SETUP.bat. Pick a name for your race USING ONLY LOWERCASE and NO SPACES, press enter and BAMN. That's all there is to it.

A more step by step instruction

Starting with a fresh template:

Unzip the file and put it into your mods folder.

Run the .bat file and choose a name longer than 3 characters, lowercase only, no spaces. (note .bat files are for windows only)

Open Starbound and you should see an eyeless humanoid head.

If you do, then hoorah! you can now begin editing, if not, check your log file at starbound/storage. You can open it up in notepad++

If you aren't running windows then you will either need a program or to manually change all instances of skstriptest to your chosen race name.

Dialog
NPC patches
Uses Glitch ship
Uses human respawn cinematic

Completely compatible with the other versions

This is the stripped back version. For something with more substance, try:
Basic
Advanced

Don't forget to change the .metadata.
