Time Decreases Vehicle Condition [B42]

Description
Updated version for b42 of my mod Time Decreases Car Condition.

HOW IT WORKS

This mod adds a chance to greatly damage/remove vehicle parts CHECKED ONCE, WHEN THEY SPAWN. That chance will increase as time passes and can be customized in sandbox settings.

Once a vehicle has been checked for damage (when they spawn), IT IS NEVER CHECKED AGAIN.

This means that the vehicles that have spawned at the start of the game around the player WILL NEVER GET DAMAGED AGAIN. It is only the new vehicles spawning when the player explore the map, that get damaged.

Inspired by Planetalgol's "Worse Vehicle Condition". All credits go to him for the orginial idea.

The Sandbox Settings :
  • Start Day : (default = 1)
  • Peak Day : (default = 50)
  • Start Chance to damage/remove parts : (default = 1) Applied before and on Start Day.
  • Peak Chance to damage/remove parts : (default = 50 ) Applied after and on Peak Day.
  • Check chance for removing parts: (default = true ) Uncheck this to disable removing parts
  • Check chance for damaging parts: (default = true ) Uncheck this to disable damaging parts
  • Check chance for breaking locks: (default = true ) Uncheck this to disable breaking locks
  • Check chance for decreasing battery charge: (default = true ) Uncheck this to disable decreasing battery charge
  • Check chance for deflating tires: (default = true ) Uncheck this to disable deflating tires
  • Vehicle part chance multipliers: Chance multipliers for each type of part

Starting from the Start Day, the chance to damage/remove parts will gradually increase until it reaches the peak chance, on Peak Day. After Peak Day the Peak Chance is always applied.

For reference : to have it on the same level as Planetalgol's worse vehicle condition you would need to set the chance ~= 40 %.
Note : The chance is applied ON EACH VEHICLE PART of a vehicle, and more often than not, it is applied more than once per vehicle part. It is not only once per vehicle. So if you set more than 50% that is extremely high!

A different fraction of the chance is applied to different vehicle parts. Some are applied the full chance once, others are applied half the chance, but twice. You can tweak these chances with the sandbox settings.

Compatibility :

It should work with most vehicle mods.

Hola amigo sera posible hacer un mod a parte o agregar una opción a este mod que solo quite la carga a todas las baterías, porque la opción que hay es que desaparezca la batería. Gracias!!:spiffo:

@Champy cool. No guarantees, but I'll make a note in case I have time and feel like it.

@Redacted All right I've opened up a discussion

What I mean is 'interfacing' the mod options in a proper way or something, when I say 'something about .lua I don't realize'. I don't know how efficient coding in .lua works (OOP etc).

@Champy open one of those 'discussion' tabs in case I decide to write a taxonomy for fun. It should be a reasonable simple tweak for an average coder to nest some of the rng'd sequential conditions and add simple if statements between them (basically all that needs to be done). Besides that maybe troubleshooting and rewiring the mod options/configs and/or something I don't realize about .lua modding. The fix should be fairly straightforward logic-wise.

@Redacted Yeah I understand. The permission is out there for anyone to take at least.

@Champy I'm cursed in a similar way. Today I found myself able to finally get some B42 modlist redownloading done, thanks to easter. I can try to write a taxonmy, but since I'm not a PZ-modder familiar with lua, I don't see myself editing mods anytime soon. Who knows if I ever feel like it, but I can't say I will for certain. (Would not be fair).
